    It's so fancy, it's so smooth, it's so sexy. I actually feel bad for synth developers because each year something like this pops up and sets up the bar higher and higher... It's just UNREAL, it's ridiculus that you can get something like this for 20 Euros.

    • @Vegan_Kebab_In_My_Hand

      20 Euros? No no no no, I'm dropping that fat 67 in this bad boi.

      I've rarely been this impressed, with a virtual instrument. Even Serum sounds mehh. And I have over 20 hardware synths.
      It's crazy what a single osc can do, with the 2 "waveshaping' buttons and the modulation. I'll be honest and say I haven't checked the price of this beast, and didn't know anything about it, release date, etc. Hopefully this isn't a always-online/challenge response kind of plugin. Or some plugin alliance thing. Will find out after watching the video.
      Vst instruments like this 100% explain why 99% of the hardware synths released the last 20 years all share the same architecture, like 2 subtractive oscillators, 1 wave table oscillator.. a few modulations, a few cheap effects and reverbs (to not waste dsp), and that's all.. with a few minor additions and differences here and there.
      That's why I have my virus b.. was joined by my virus C.. which was joined by my virus Ti2.. which was... STOP..
      ...almost 20 years later, and access music still hasn't announced a new synth.. let alone released it.
      I mean.. a synth like Diva, at max quality.. a complex patch, and a 4-note chord, could easily destroy and max out a 8core/16 threads/ 4.9GHz cpu.
      The same here: even if it must be ultra optimized (the guy that codes something like this, must be a math/physics genius), one patch using all the oscillators, chaos features, mods, detune, and plenty of effects, could also annihilate a super modern cpu.
      That's why, with all the goodwill of the world, and even if they had 10 or 20 times more dsp power than the virus Ti, a soft synth like Vital would simply be impossible to recreate as a hardware synth. Or maybe it would be possible, but at what cost..? 50 recent sharc dsps, 10 years of R&D, prototyping, etc.. for a cost of $/£/€ 10'000 , and only 16 noted of polyphony?? !
      I wonder if the TI2 will be the last hardware synth from Access Music. One thing is sure, almost 20 years after release, the European stores like thomann are still selling these Virus like facial masks. Access Music will eventually discontinue it, the day where each of the 8 billion citizens will own one.
      The filters in Vital are so sweet and creamy, I don't even dare imagining how amazing the stringy/choiry pads will sound.
      Could this synth be the one that will finally end the reign of Serum ? I hope so, because I'm tired of seeing Serum all over the place, when , it is a super simplistic and basic synth.

    • @Vegan_Kebab_In_My_Hand
      @Vegan_Kebab_In_My_Hand 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@only4posting Serums is a basic, simplistic synth? First time I've ever heard that opinion. Sure some of the architecture is simple, but it still many great features. Like being able to morph between two custom waveshaping shapes in the distortion unit. Being able to internally re-render an oscillator into a dedicated wavetable, together with unison with a single click. Wavetable editing section is still really good. A lot more unision control than most super soft synths. A LOT of different filter shapes (the reverb filter alone makes nasty gnarly sounds for basses). Good wave wrapping options. You can use the sampler as an FM or AM source, that's pretty neat. All of the effect that it comes with are solid. You can can control the modulation amount with an additional input (the aux portion in the matrix tab). You can breed/generate new patches semi-randomly from your preexisting preset libraries. And obviously more.
      Basic synth, in my opinion, do not have these functionalities while they still do have a simplistic architecture. Sure it's not your Phase Plant or Harmor and etc., but you can still do a lot with Serum. It's not one of the most popular soft synths for no reason.

    • @StuartRochabrunt
      @StuartRochabrunt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Don't feel bad at all because no matter how spectacular the features of new VSTs are, they'll never make real hardware synths disappear. Both are different markets, different users, different expectations. I use both, but rely more on hardware synths than VSTs because I prefer to have several computers (synths are kind of) working at the same time, than one computer loaded with a lot of software that will eventually crash.

    • @imbuildingasynth
      @imbuildingasynth 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@only4posting you're not making much sense on the price argument. i mean worst case you could just put the hardware of a 1000$ pc and a fatar keybed in an enclosure and run diva or vital on it, no problems at all. if you factor in scaled up roduction and optimized hardware cost could be much much lower. after all, machines like the roland jupiter X or sys8 are all digital dsp based already with a simililary complex feature set. so yeh. take your estimate, divide it by 10. an then also, who in the world needs more than 16voice polyphony lol which in itself is insane already (prophet reissue just came out with 5 voices lololol on of the most revered synths)

    You have encountered a Lorenz Attractor before actually. Chaos 1 in Serum is a Lorenz attractor. Chaos 2 in Serum is based on a Roessler attractor.

    • @DashGlitch
      @DashGlitch  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very weird, Chaos 1 in Serum by default always sounded janky, I always prefer the S&H in Serum, but here it has a nice random movement/pattern to it

    • @DaddaPsy
      @DaddaPsy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DashGlitch Yes. Chaos 1 in Serum seems to have a bit more depth compared to Vitals. There is also a Lorenz modulator in Sylenth which behaves more like Serums regarding the modulation too. If you use a long rate time, you can hear how it escalates over time before it resets when holding down a note. Most notable if it's mapped to pitch or filter imo.

    until now i was not really sold on this synth, it seemed like a close sibling to serum (which is in a way), but the flow here is much better than in serum, and it sounds amazing. will be hard to resist buying it, but not much info on exact feature differences between versions... the TTWT limitation is a bit sad tbh... but if you have 5 per day for 20 bucks, it's still 10% of serum's price. maybe with time will appear on splice, that would be a no brainer for the pro version.

      I just found out that the 5 euro subscription model is also build up towards credits or the eventual buying of the pro version. Apparantly even if you stop the subscription the credits you build up stays in your account.

      @@endonyxoneaudio8644 ok, it means if I bought yesterday after trying out the free, the 25usd version...let's say I start now a subscription, also I can get to 80usd with monthly 5 (from 25) and if I stop then the sub, still get the "pro" version? hopefully it applies across the board, not only for sub.... but nice business model. even I was wowed by the free version... I felt it's a steal not to give at least 25 for this awesome piece of software, which in daily workhorse kinda use probably will make serum not needed.... at least in my case

      @@DashGlitch it's nice to have all these new synths. Installing a bunch now into Cubase 11. Just installed Hive 2 and I barely used it. Got allot of catching up to do. I come from a cracked version of Cubase 5 so it feels good to have a legit software. Tons of cool stuff coming out this year. The main reason I moved to Cubase 11 is that 64 bit plugins don't work well on 5. I'm noticing a huge difference already.

    Vital or Phase plant to spend my money in the beggining? i`m learning how to use ableton properly and started felt desire to learn sound design, so what is your opinion about the differences with those two synths to spend money and more time learning all the range knowlege ? i`m beginer and my mind is blowing up with so many kinds of softwares and i think learn how to put the sounds rolling in your mind in a wave is the best way to start (psytrance), like you told in another video as well.
