- The secrets of Xingyi Quan is a documentary that was released domestically in China over a decade ago. Produced in Shan Xi province, which is where the art traces its roots, it focuses on the art and its practice from a Shan Xi perspective predominantly.
As it runs close to two hours in length, I will be releasing in parts for ease of viewing.

Hmmmm...What is about Liu He XingYi Quan ?
@@michamakara1776 you mean xinyi Liu he Quan?
What about Divine Crushing Fist and his contributions?
@@lifeishealinghealthwellnes1979 Guo Yunshen is later in the timeline. We are still at the formation of Xingyi Quan in Taigu during Li Laonong time
Does Wang Xiang Zhai come later in the lineage?
@@richardschafer7858 Wang Xiangzhai learnt Xingyi Quan, and this was much later in time
I'm curious about the differences between Xinyi Quan and Xingyi Quan? When I watched the entire video it seemed to be suggesting that Xingyi is more direct than Xinyi? But how is that directness manifested? I imagine that the strategies are somewhat different between the two systems? It'd be interesting to get an idea of their differences and similarities.
@@davidbarnwell6180 The entire series is long, probably about 10 episodes in total
Hi. Very good job. Although, I'm curious about one thing i think you mentioned in one your earlier videos: wasn't general yu fei the founder of xing yi? He created eagle claw for the soldiers and xing yi for the officials? Thanks.
@@edmilsonli5132 thanks. The yue fei story is mythical. It carries forward a desire, will and spirit, but isn't factual
The number of arts that claim Yue Fei as their creator is impressive. A very prolific martial artist for someone who died at 38 years old. 😊
Could be as well that these arts later branched from yue family boxing, usually not everyone gets taught the complete curriculum. The people that only get a fraction or the incomplete style usually search for other things to fill the gap, similar to today. Take for example wing chun to ving tsun to wing fight from victor gutierrez then it would still be the same founder even if the art changed. In china this branching is felt almost endless. Eventually some style survives and gets popular if some strong fighter emerges like leung jan
@@FuryoTokkosho The connection to yue is problematic across the board
@@joezane people back then were a bit different, they were memorizing a lot, they were training pretty wild stuff. Becoming a general is kind of special like becoming head of the government, a thing you have to pass a lot of trials until you arrive at your position. A thing not everyone can do. Have a look at the scope of chen style taiji, they produced a lot of material too. Then yang luchan were travelling and spreading the style which produced kind of endless variations too. You have the sticky hands practice and other fractions of style still in a lot of styles like Mian Quan, Huaquan Fist | 滑拳, Shaolin Rou Quan, Wing Chun or even Goju Ryu Karate, still you could consider it tracing back to general chen.
Where can I buy the book

I was at Liu Jingru's 80th birthday a few years ago and I saw him recebtly too. Yes, I know them both, they are both still alive
@@MuShinMartialCulture great to hear that thanks .
Wei people had their version! Didn't Gen.Yue Fei, had a hand in Hsing I 🤔😬
@@frankmartinez4856 Wei dynasty? No, no evidence for that or Yue Fei at all
