  • Welcome to Cyberpunk 2077's Night City! Come and spend a quiet moment of reflection in Clouds with Skye. This video features an ambient, 1 hour extended version of the music that plays in your session with Angel or Skye during the mission Automatic Love. This track is by far the most relaxing piece that I've found making these videos so far, it's peaceful, contemplative, and emotional all at once.
Use this hour long video as some white noise to aid your focus while you study, to help you immerse in a particular scene for writing or art, some background music to help you sleep, or to simply sit back and relax.

when the real Skye woke up and had no idea who i was, and you realize that that whole beautiful conversation you have with her was a fabrication, basically done by some sort of Amazon algorithm to maximize emotional impact... it was a very sad moment for me.

"I don't wanna go back out there" That line broke me. V's always been the badass mercenary, the tough streetkid, the heartless corpo, the stray nomad that never backed down from a fight. And then V got into a fight they couldn't possibly win. The fight to survive.
And somehow V finds it in themself to open up about these fears to a random doll with a behavioral chip. Its exactly like Barry's side quest at the niche when Johnny says "Think about how fucking lonely you have to be to open up to a stupid tortoise" The fact that V was vulnerable in this moment reflected the fact that they have no one to talk to about these things. Jackie was probably the closest person V could ever be vulnerable around and he's gone. No matter how much chrome V put on, they were entirely human in this moment.

Jesus man I couldn't have said it better, this apparently simple moment and scene, is filled with tons of detail, emotions, atmosphere and it tells you so much about how V is truly feeling and their fear to move forward, how are they feeling hopeless and kind of broken. And just how you said.. it all happened with a random doll at that infamous place, the last place we thought something like this could happen and also it's completely missable! This game man.. I've never experienced something like this, such a fantastic experience

To me world building is such an important element of a game that I personally was able to see beyond CP's flaws and enjoy it for the gem it is.
That being said one of the first games I ever played was Daggerfall so I'm from a generation where we were able to look past bugs.

    • @krzosu
      @krzosu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@nadnaps1010 If there is one thing that utterly fits with Cyberpunk as a world concept - it's THE IMPERFECTION... it's all over the place and it should be because that is the underlying issue - the world of CP is massively imperfect - every nook an cranny of it.
For eg the quest where you discover there is a plot to brainwash the politician and his wife - They live high life they are famous, respected, feared, they hold power - Their home is stylish, spacey, grand - and yet - there is that one tiny hidden door that one little crack that shows it is just a facade and it leads to a massive shattering of the before mentioned image.
A small imperfection like a tiny strand that once pulled is capable of unwraping and shattering the whole thing.
So knowing this - the imperfections of the game itself - kinda actually fit (accidentally ofc) into the Cyberpunk premise anyway :D

    • @ImperadorLucius

Not so much, The promises was much more of what is delivered, and i'm not talking about bugs, it's about content.
I Wish content creators instead of trying to make something beautiful to the eyes, instead focus on history, complexity (How your decisions change the world your are in), less focus on graphical they are trying so hard when the technology is not developed enogh in first person expierence to be realistic and complex in narrative.
So, why not use the same beutiful grapichs used in Ascend, Gamedec, and all RPG's with god point of view. it can be aestethic pleasing but also it's not limited beying able to have a huge truly organic world with a lot of content, also... having a good music is the most important part of it. For exemple: Carrier Command OST, Frostpunk OST, The Plane OST, Bioshock, and so on.
By any means, try not to do it for profit but for love to your craft, like No Man's Sky, who not delivered what it promises, but still developing content for free to finish what they dreamed of to be. And with that, stop trying so hard to revolutionize, but work instead in a field you are confort with, you have experience doing so. Like chefs do in the kitchen, it's no about create new flavors and sensations, is to do so much the same stuff that you enrance it near to perfection.

Skye: You've never backed down from anything in your life, even when you maybe should've.
You go through Night City knowing a stray bullet could end you while hailing a cab.
But that's never stopped you from taking action, going where you needed to go. And it won't stop you now.
V: But...how do I keep up with everything that's changing?
Skye: You *have* been keeping up. You've made an impact. Not a single thing in this world isn't in the process of becoming something else. Likewise; you.
Never look back. If you gotta kill, kill. If you gotta burn it all to the ground, then let it burn.

Very clever strategy and so revolting at the same time when you realise that it was in fact just a manipulation.

This theme also plays during All Along the Watchtower when Judy meets you and the Aldecaldos, very wholesome moment. Not sure if it plays when other partners are there.
Judy: So why do I feel like...like I'm running away?
V: It's betrayal, you sense...somehow the city knows, and it stands in judgement.
J: Yeah...like it's got another sweet, sweet promise just for me.
V: Empty, Judy, all of them. But WE hold the cards now.
J: You know...I used to mark time in stages, one juncture to the next. There was the megabuilding phase, mox phase. Every time I thought I found a home, every time I came away disappointed.
V: Life in Night City in a nutshell, I'd say.
    (Judy embraces V)
J: I know that now. Never had any doubts about leavin', you know? I gotta go.
V: N' find something new. More lasting. For yourself; for us!
    (Judy smiles)
    V: You'll see...we'll have a home. We'll *be* home soon.
    J: It's a vision I like...
    J:...a lot.

Now that I think about it, the quote "we hold the cards now" has a lot of thought put into it.
The Tarot cards of the game, which present all the story elements, are all scattered around or "held" by Night City, but V solidifies the idea of her and Judy controlling or holding the cards themselves in this ending, and thus reclaiming their story.
      Bravo CDPR.

One of the most incredible moments in the game. I was half expecting grotesque sex scenes or an obligatory interrogation scene, but it turned around and gave V an introspective interaction that tore V down and stitched her back together in just minutes. Just like Night City - how so many people are lured in by its artificial and superficial promise - they are so aware of the underlying ugliness but still so addicted to its false allure and grew dependent on the well-oiled machine of commercialism and instant gratification. People have been reduced to lines of code that even machines that just gotten to know you moments ago can strip one down to one's deepest vulnerabilities, dispensing remedies to its clients ailments, give them a good high, rinse and repeat - not unlike what's happening now, but it's so well captured in Cyberpunk 2077.
What the game does well in its story, it does even more masterfully in the overarching themes. I've completed 5 runs, clocking in at 500 hours, and every time I play I discover more, and grew to appreciate the developer's love for the game. Sad that its a buggy mess for some, but there's greatness in this game that I'm sad for some that never got to experience it whole.

Why did I feel like Skye was talking directly to me? Like legitimately. Everything she said about my 'V' was spot. The fear of death, being forgotten. Her words hit me hard honestly. I didn't want to leave her side. She has such a soothing voice on top of being incredibly beautiful. Honestly people love to boast and brag about how dark this game but to me... this game. V's story is more about Hope than anything. Hope and happiness. Trying to achieve it. Characters like Misty and Judy proves this as well. A constant theme I noticed is that as soon as characters leave Night City they feel happier. In a way Night City is like a prison. It's a dark cloud hanging over peoples head. Notice how characters often talk about how lonely they feel in Night City? Some people can take Night City for what it is and roll with the punches but others can't. Violence and death no matter where you look. People love throwing the word 'realistic' around due to how similar Cyberpunk is to our world. Saying things like "It's just like our world because people are struggling, people die trying to achieve happiness. Greatness even and some never get it." And I'm like... so? this isn't anything new. Almost every form of media/entertainment has this type of story. See here I believe the message the game is trying to portray is that any sort of happiness you should take and cherish. Learn from and accept the past. Accept what may happen in the future. But regardless of what happens live your life to the best of your ability. That's what I think anyway. When I follow a character on their journey be it in a video game, book, movie or whatever I look forward to a happy ending. I don't care if it's 'realistic' or not it's what I do. And in my many hours of Cyberpunk I made sure to make my V's happy. It doesn't matter if some forms of media is meant to be dark and depressing. I look for ways the characters happy. That's just how I am lol.

One of my favorite tropes in all of media is when writers allow for their tough-as-nails characters to be vulnerable, if only for a fleeting moment.
This moment in Clouds, as well as Jackie’s Oferenda, is when I realized this game is not your typical RPG. I realized this game would weigh on me, and, since this whole interaction could be skipped, that my choices actually mattered. Absolutely incredible world and character building.

What a masterpiece of a game. Some people will never get to experience this unfortunately. What I love most about it is that there is no happy ending. You don`t get to choose a hard path and end live it up happily ever after. V made his choices, went down his path of glory, and whatever came after he went through it. He lost his best friend Jackie, then V, then loses all his skills, or even dies, depending on the path taken.
This is what V was all about, go big or go home.
Eventually we all get what we are after.

Became obsessed with this ambient soundtrack months ago, without playing the game for myself.
Today, after 90 hours, I officially finished the story and immediately came here.
I'm just so... emotionally stunned. I didn't expect Cyberpunk to hit me the way it has. I can't remember the last time an in-game world has gripped me the way Night City has. The game refusing to shy away from the depths of human capabilities, while also recognising the beauty of human emotion in a terrifyingly cybernetic future. Laying on the bed, talking to Angel in a whispered tone, holding hands... to Evelyn's fate... to those final moments with Songbird... we're capable of so much love, understanding, compassion, discovery... yet equally prone to committing horrific acts, murder, war, corruption, depravity... Fuck this game got me good.
All the chaos, murder, and twisted things V has to endure/witness... it makes you appreciate the quiet moments even more.
Having the first kiss with Kerry on the rooftop, watching the night sky with Panam, diving with Judy, being consoled by MIsty and her spirituality, laying on the bed in Clouds... I'll never forget it.
I remember this game releasing in 2020, and I couldn't last an hour without either feeling bored or the PS4 glitches ruining the experience entirely. So I purposefully held back.
Fast forward to 2023, and I was hooked instantly. And it held onto me for almost 100 hours. I'm so grateful I waited until the 2.0 update, plus Phantom Liberty.
I'm gonna need a year just to digest everything I've seen, heard, witnessed, played. All the choices I've made, characters I've loved adventuring with, and building a romance with Kerry.
I can't even put my admiration into thoughts. The experience was beautifully crafted, and the atmosphere is incomparable.
I'm hella late hopping onto the bandwagon, but I finally understand what all the fuss was about.
Bugs/crashes aside, I think this is one of my favourite games of all time. I'm gonna remember this so fondly in years to come.
And I feel blessed to see so many others feeling the same way. 💙

Who in the world would have thought that this scene could be so powerful and atmospheric, it took me 40 minutes to do because of how much times I replayed it to do different dialogues and because of how transported I felt, it's just insane how this game can make you feel in the characters flesh, I have no words

Marcin Blacha as the Story Director and Paweł Sasko utilized a modern phenomenon also known as FOMO. It is the fear of missing out. They mentioned it on a dev interview without going into further detail.
While it being a human symptom, the twist is, it's not the player with the symptom, it's the NPC involved. Once you realize that, Skye is a whole different being.

This part of the game was crazy emotional when you lay with the doll skye and you have this deep conversation about V's fears and where he is going even though situation is fabricated it gives you an inside look at V's personaility and mentality. Its just so intense it felt like an ASMR session so soothing and deep.

and the characters and quest are so well made and full of passion, character and personality!
The music in this game, what can I say, just listen.
Show me a game of this time, where the most intense and most sensitive moments are when the main character just sitting next to someone in consensual silence and in deep sorrow for a loved one, and the player has trouble holding back the tears...

The game's story was overall dull and plastic with so much wasted potential to the point I exclude it from my headcanon. And that's not starting on the tweaks to prime lore characters's personalities and motives that alienate veteran Cyberpunk tabletop players. But it compensates with fleshed out, lovable characters and touching moments, especially this scene.
V opening up to a doll despite being a complete stranger is very touching since his BF Jackie kicked the bucket, and the doll comforts him like a pro club host. Shame it's also horrifically polarizing knowing the doll's compassion and emotional support is not real, but a parasitic AI program chipped into a nonconsensual human host created by money-grubbing perverts. Thank Aphrodite, Xochiquetzal and other love gods for the "safe" word.
Economic equality and tyrannical "capitalism on life support" in the Cyberpunk genre is the archetypical form of oppression in its settings, which is overall bad enough. But when corporate bastards try to buy and commercialize one of the most deepest and complex emotions as a technological and institutionalized form of rape, that's the greatest crime against humanity since Native American Genocide and the Yugoslav wars! Hell it also alludes to society's hypocritical dehumanization and insane love-hate relationship with sex workers as an affront to traditional family values and outdated Puritan Christian values. No wonder homicidal perverts like the Green River killer were able to get away with murdering innocent women for over a decade. Society allowed it. Hell, good people don't do nothing, they always do something.
