Bro it's a killer info - Thank you. For me personally the best set up would be sending TC from the receiver into FX6/transmitters and record internally on transmitters. This way you can get rid of the top handle and synchronize your audio in post by TC. That's the solution i've been missing (Had no idea that TC/ 3.5mm jack cable exists). You're God!
great video, thanks for the info! A quick question, what happens if you change the frame rate in the camera for some slowmotion shots, and go back to the mais frame rate? if you leave the receiver connected does the slow motion scenes have time code? its a question that i have because it is vey commom to shoot some slow mo b roll and it would be not very good if it lost the timecode to sync with other cameras. Great content, thank you again
Thanks man, nice tutorial! I find it a bit sketchy tough not no monitor audio, can´t you run out both TC and audio off the receiver and monitor audio at the same time as running TC to the camera?
Great video! How does it work when setting up the timecode with the wireless pro on freerun and switch between s&q back and forth while shooting? Do i need to resync everytime?
This video is not what I was looking for. But Man did you nail this video. Great Video I loved it. I'm doing video and music production. I have the Sony FX3 and FX6 and I was trying to find a way to live sync, Like Stop And Start my cameras to my daw protools while playing my drums for different takes because I'm working along. I was thinking if my Protools can control the cameras when to start or stop I won't have to keep getting off my drums. I wanna keep rolling for different takes. But Man did I love your video. Great Work.
Instead of just turning the camera off, what happens when you pull the battery entirely? Does the camera still retain timecode then? Another test is to pull the battery and leave it for say twelve hours and then power up again and see if it is still accurate. Some cameras revert to reading time from their RTC chip and those tend to drift quite a bit. Wondering if the FX6 behaves that way or not...
Hi, Thanks for making this video. Do you happen to know this: I want to sync the tentacle via the USB port of the Rode Wireless Pro. I think it would be useful to just keep the Tentacle connected. I have tried different adapters but I do not get an audible timecode from the USB port of the Rode. Do you happen to know if this is even possible?
@@M0LLER75Since the FX6 has a dedicated timecode port, you can use timecode and regular audio capture at the same time. Granted, it will be the onboard scratch mics (or other wired mic) and not the audio from the R0DE if you go that route. I suppose so f you got a Y splitter cable you could send one channel from the RODE to the audio input and the timecode channel to the timecode input.
So........ am I getting this right.......... I can actually quit using the old Tentacles and use my Wireless Pro instead and kill two birds with one stone ?

Would be great to know - did you try it?
@@dave_mcbain i saw in another channel that it loses the timecode if you do that, so you have to locked to a setting unfortunately!
@@fulvio.r.rdamn, that’s a bummer.

Wanna use the transmitter on a boom pole. Cannot fjnd a way dk you know a way?
King!
Would it be possible to timecode sync multiple rode wireless pro systems? In example if I have a 3/4 person interview.

I wish it would do 60fps
In Timecode mode 5, you're not recording any audio into the Rode Receiver, so you could just as well leave it plugged/connected to your FX6, right? :)
Yes technically and just record on any of the other modes using this cable: amzn.to/46ndMTz
So you can use it both as a tc box and sond devide with audio directly in?
