    Fair play to Neville, he swallows his pride every time another team does well, especially when it's a rival team he hates he stays true and praises.

      It's the same Gary, that thought Utd should have a penalty when Fernandes jumped on an Aston villa players leg. Souness gives far more praise. The difference is, that there is not much to praise about this Utd side, other than they are punching above their weight and the results are better than their performances. LFC are brilliant, Utd is dogshit.

    Hand on heart, I think city look better equipped to not slip up for the remainder of this season. However, as a Liverpool fan, we don't expect to win the league and European cup every year, but what we do want is to be able to compete with the best. It wasn't too long ago that Liverpool were struggling to make the top four and were finishing 30 points behind the champions. This Liverpool team is in its fourth year of being competitive and make no mistake, they are in this title race.

      The big thing to look at it how Liverpool will bolster its defense. The massive amount of injuries in the defense have ruined the teams depth and link up play. What happened to Liverpool this season is similir to what happened to man city last season (except man city still had a plethora of centerbacks to chose from, they were all just horrible).

      Spurs players can't do that. In fact it's the opposite. They think: _"Who am I kidding. We're Spurs. We don't win trophies."_

    Neville has developed this strange Yoda-esque sentence structure where he asks himself a question then answers it. So instead of saying "I don't think United will will the league" he'll ask "do I think United will win the league? No". Usually nods his head too when he's saying no. That's crucial.

Our strikers aren’t performing because most of the time they don’t get enough chances (I know cavani yesterday messed up massively) and that’s because our wingers want to shoot, rashford martial Greenwood are all selfish which isn’t helpful for other players and the team. Gary Neville continues to help OGS by managing expectations. Why can't these pundits be professional and truthfully call out the situation as it is? If Utd squad is that good that it does not have a huge drop off in quality between starters and the bench, then there must be issues around the coaching of said players.

    • @cweston9440
      @cweston9440 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not even trying to be harsh to man u but there squad isn't as good as they think, it's a bit of a weird one because the players they have on their bench it is true are a very similar quality to the starting 11, but their starting 11 aren't world class they have potential to be but they aren't quite there. I think it's easiest to see in their forwards, rashford, cavani and martial (Bruno would probably get into most teams but he can't be the only spark, it's not enough) aren't as consistently good as salah, mane and firmino or mahrez, sterling, Jesus (city to be fair have less of a settled front line at the moment but their strength in depth is better than Liverpool and man u), they lack that extra quality needed sometimes hence not having won against a top 6 side. TLDR; they have a very like for like squad but not quite the star quality needed.

    • @realist1641
      @realist1641 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cweston9440 This is correct. They looked like a blunt knife against Arsenal. They just didn't have the cutting edge. If that was City or Liverpool we would've lost by 2 or 3 goals. In terms of the quality of starting 11 United and Arsenal are very similar. The only issue for Arsenal is we dont have United's bench/squad depth, so we rely on academy players more. With injuries, suspensions, Covid quarantines and busy schedule the standards massively. The only issue with this podcast is that the coach isn't scrunitsed for how he set up with CDMs against a depleted Arsenal side who lie 10th in the table and were without 3 of their best players. In the past Arsenal would've lost this game. Despite a horrendous run, Arteta has made us more compact and organised, we have conceded the 2nd least goals, only City have conceded less than us. So we weren't there for the taking as Gary says. United weren't clinical enough, we defended well and had our fair amount of chances.

    • @cweston9440
      @cweston9440 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@realist1641 yeah I agree I think ole needs to be more aggressive and seize the opportunities to win more sometimes, I think its coz man u are great on the break but you can't win every game like that, it was like us (Liverpool) when we first got the front three we used to break against teams all the time, but once you develop you become a bigger threat to teams so they will sit back against you, so you can't wait for them to give you a chance to counter, you have to be on the front foot and you can see it with Liverpool we became a more possession side and had to work to be better at breaking teams down.
      But it's also the attacking quality at times I think, you need that bit of magic, like take us vs West ham first half we played well kept the ball and played quite fast but didn't look like scoring till salah brings a bit of magic, and it's not to say rashford/martial won't become that and Bruno is that now I'd say but they maybe rely on him too much.

    • @Obetv01
      @Obetv01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cweston9440 A lot of very good observations. However take a player like Salah; he has improved and moved his level to world class under Klopp as has Mane. At Utd by comparison, Rashford and Martial have failed so far to raise their talent to such heights and that surely is a consequence of coaching. Man Utd currently don't have a system that allows the creative players to create gilt edged chances for the forward line. So are not guaranteed goals in the way that LFC and City are. Much of this I put down to a lack of a progressive system of play. Consider that the more intricate players like Mata and VDB are welded to the bench. So we dont create good chances nor do we defend well or press well or even transition well, considering Utd are supposed to be a counter attacking team. Ole is not really a coach for the level required to match Klopp and Pep.

    More has been made of VVD injury than that of KDB a couple seasons ago. I knew they wouldn’t miss VVD as much as People thought , they have a great attack that will outscore most teams even if the concede a few along the way. KDB makes city tick. This season we haven’t had a striker most the season , Laporte injured , KDB now for 6 weeks , Ederson , Walker and Torres etc had corona , we’ve had our fair share of injuries just like other teams have too.

    • @znhait
      @znhait 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You started well and went off the rail--I'm a City fan, btw. Liverpool have had both of their CBs injured--Matip doesn't count; he's Liverpool's Mendy. Liverpool haven't conceded that many, though one could say that there is a problem with moving Fabinho and Henderson out of midfield. But if one remembers, since about January up to VVD's injury, Liverpool had not been good defensively. Part of that was teams targeting TAA. As for City, KDB is their best attacking player, but he doesn't make City tick. Pep's teams will never be dependent on an attacking midfielder in terms of playing style. For example, City would be worse off if Rodri and Fernandinho both got injured.
