I definitely enjoy this game and its predecessor! So nice to find faithful representations of tabletop wargaming on the computer. I like playing on the tabletop, but there's no question that it's much quicker when the computer does all the math, terrain layout, and dice rolling for you, haha!
Thank you for watching my friend! I have to say it is a great game the AI is really good and it is supported with many DLC's from the developers. You have Crusades- HYW- Reconquista and now they released War of the Roses.
I have over 1000 hours in the original Field of Glory 2 and this one is a no brainer with the improved UI. The battles really do ebb and flow and that is unusual in tactical wargaming.
Yes it is a great looking game and plays very well. I like how the melee continues to run all the time with battle sound. I wish there were more campaigns and epic battles in the base game.
Hopefully they will add more updates, hopping for a HYW edition soon and why not a campaign like the ancients.. that would be fantastic! Thank you for watching Eric!
Honestly, I don't care much for the epic battles. Too many of them are essentially scripted, already starting in formation a lot of the battles entail just throwing yourselves at enemy fortifications or two lines slamming into each other on a field with little terrain. In essence it becomes like a game of chess thinking of individual moves instead of more sweeping strategies (eg. position light bowmen on rough terrain hill to harass knights if the enemy places them on flanks while massing your own cavalry on the opposite flank). The campaigns however are great, as is multiplayer.
Id be interested in the Teutonic campaign and the Novgorod campaign. Have you ever played the miniatures game Field of Glory Nik? I have played a couple games and the rules are surprisingly good.
I used to play the first edition but i moved on since..i may have a look at the latest editions i also heard they are good! Thank you for watching my friend!
@@MedievalWargamer Can I ask what version of windows do you use this on. I have had issues with other games on Windows 11 but they played well on Windows 10, thanks, John
@@JJLewin1 Well it is running fine in Windows 11 I had no issues at all but I have faced problems like the one you mention what usually worked for me is to run it as administrator and change the start up to an earlier version of windows. But regardless it works fine with 11.
I love all kinds of ancient battles games, however from the look of it, it doesnt seem adrenaline filled, like a Total War battle. Is this really worth it?
No it does not you are right! This is basically a game based on a table top wargaming game (Field of Glory rules), with modifiers, special rules for movement ,sequence of play and instead of the wargamer counting all these and rolling the dive the game does it for you.. If you like this you will like the game too but don't expect Total war style of play. Thank you for watching my friend!
Man has anyone told you that you have a brilliant voice & accent? I think you could even do voiceovers or narration or audio books. Do you narrate audio books already by any chance? Will lookout for more of your content. Would love to hear your voice in reading audio books (such as Pillars of the Earth etc) - books of a medieval nature.
@@MedievalWargamer I'm not even joking. I'm multi-lingual, know several linguists where I live and listen to audiobooks regularly in multiple languages. You have a fantastic voice and should capitalize on it. No idea what your day job is but .... hint hint 😁

Couldn't agree more my friend!!haha Thank you for watching!!
Thank you for the video. I'm more of a close combat modern war player but watching your video, I need to try this game.

Totally agree with you my friend! I hope they do some type of campaign like the did with the ancients. Thank you for watching!
Yes. I find that the battles in FOG Medieval are very dynamic.
My favorite thing about this video is that it’s narrated by Ricardo Montalban
Hahah this video?

@@MedievalWargamer You're quite welcome Nik. I played a few games for the first edition. Oddly enough they were both medieval period games.
Looks great
Yes it is a great game depicting perfectly the era and translating very well miniature wargaming on the PC. Thank you for watching my friend!
