I began with detachment and moved to low contact & am now no contact. It was a process. The more I connected the dots, the more I awakened & moved to these measures.

@@sanjeevbains690 so glad to hear. How are new connections going? I had to realize I was accepting bread crumbs for so long, I began to think it was a fact of life + thus attracted only soul suckers! I still attract them but I spot them now in weeks not decades 🎈 how to not attract them? To love myself enough. That's the work for me currently.
Best wishes on your journey. It's good to know we're not alone 🤸

Ironically, the narcissist/bipolar/BPD I cut off contact with over a decade ago and have ignored all her attempta to get back into my life just sent this video to me today to let me know this video helped her diagnose me with narcissism 😂 For what it's worth, I've inadvertently followed all of your advice in freeing myself of her. Great video!

keep narcissists in line: how to make THEM walk on eggshells
    1-keep your distance.
    2-maintain detachment.
3-boundaries. set and maintain, on repeat as necessary.
4-do not reward bad behavior with your attention
5-refuse to take them seriously. they are at their core, evil people
6-personal sovereignty and autonomy. rely on and need them for nothing.
7-just don't go. opt out of any activities with the narc, intermittently. say yes randomly, no, often.
8-leverage. if you have the ability to expose the narc, document everything and be ready to use such info when necessary.
excellent video tamie. it's great when people can plot twist and use information against the narcissist.
cheers from southern ontario, canada 🍁

These are all really solid. No. 7 at 8:28 is pure gold. No 8. is the key to the doorway out of these relationships. Staying two steps ahead was how I ultimately cut the cord to a covert narcissist but it took time because there was business dealings. This person ended up burying themselves because I stayed two steps ahead and the rest is history. My year anniversary of cutting all contact is this week and life is so much better. Listen to Tamie! I still want to take her course but need to save up for it.

@tamiemjoyce I've always said "listen to the airlines when they say put your O2 mask on first so you're able to help others" but I didn't usu take my own advice, esp w narc family members who I allowed to guilt me into all sorts of things that took far more away from me while they gained the supply they so desperately needed. I finally learned I had / have the upper hand. They need my supply WAY more than I need / want / put up with/ their abuse (which is never) -it was lopsided for decades then they had a 6 year long smear campaign behind my back while I was their caretaker DAILY for 6 whole years. I caught on + they're not in my life anymore
      Codependent behavior, for sure

I am tremendously stressed and confused. My mother-In-Law is a narcissist (and alcoholic). We live across the country. She ended mine and her relationship as far as text & phone when I shared two extremely hurtful encounters, at her prodding. I will see her w/out my husband present for a wedding in 2 weeks. I have listened to your videos as to totally disengaging and returned rage. Now I am thinking the recommendation is to avoid conflict but not the same way? Please help me. I have been too naive for 33 years of marriage to know what was going on. I need to know what to do before I step on the plane Oct. 17th. She WILL speak to me. I can’t let her take any more of me. I have a disease with no cure. I can’t give any more to her, and I can’t take any more from her.
How do I get an answer to this????
