In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn a some spalted beech dynamite sticks cast in black epoxy resin into an egg.

I like when you do colorful resins, but black was definitely the right choice here to highlight those beautiful veins in the wood.

@@JackMackWoodturning I feel like maybe I have seen spalted beach turned once or twice before? But not very often! I love the black “pencil” lines in it especially mixed with its soft papery yellow wood color. Really gorgeous wood! And totes right call on the resin color you used with it. FANTASTIC!!!
Your technique is amazing. I love that you used more wood than resin, and we can actually see the quality and beauty of the wood!

A change in the TH-cam algorithm seems to have reset the history on my entire channel. This means that my back catalog of videos is no longer getting views and the channel as stands can no longer be sustained.
In hope of pulling this back around I’m reaching out to all you guys who I know to be loyal viewers and asking for as much engagement as possible with my past and upcoming videos.
This means watching the videos through from start to finish without skipping, pressing the like button, engaging with comments and making sure you have pressed the bell icon when you subscribe. Sharing on social media or with friends via WhatsApp, or letting my playlists run through (for the dog to watch while your at work 😉). For those of you who don’t know, my new video’s are always on a Friday at 12:00PM GMT.

@@JackMackWoodturning no, I thought about it but I have no idea how to do all the video stuff and I’m not very good with technology. I do have instagram and Facebook though. My family keeps telling me to make TH-cam videos but it’s not something I’m overly capable of doing at the moment. Maybe in the future?
Absolutely buddy. I didn’t have any idea about making video’s when I started. It takes a little getting used to and I’m still improving but I think making a video is easier than making a knife. I’m sure you would boss it 😊👍🏻

I really like your choice of the spalted wood; it's somewhat reminiscent of Polish Easter eggs, but more abstract. Amazing piece! 😊

In Poland they elaborately decorate Easter eggs and they come out looking amazing. Look them up, you won't be disappointed

I finished a twice turned bowel this week. There was nothing fancy about the shape, but it is what a family member requested. The wood and the wood grain more than compensated for the shape. I turned it from a slab of Chilean Mesquite. It is one of the prettiest bowls I have turned.

Like how the epoxy went into the grain.
Thought I missed you adding little rods at the top and bottom of the egg, until I realized that the "short" ones are the rods from the next circle in.
