*Almost 40% Indian youth have minimum career gap of 2-3 years after graduations in India due to govt job preparation, CA exams or CAT exams.Industry should accept this reality. Otherwise large number of population who fail in the highly competitive govt service exams cannot become part of organised workforce and will be lost forever from alternative career. Preparation phase for govt service like Civil service make the person better engaged citizen as well as employee because most of us are a product of one specialized stream , but recent world innovation and market need candidate with multidisciplinary approach of mind for which only a person prepared seriously for UPSC or state civil service can become. Most of the engineers don't know economics and finance and how market works so they don't get integrated with the company easily as company doesn't teach him economics and finance which are the backbone of any company. Similarly , not knowing the sociology , history , philosophy , International relations makes a employee hollow and just like a machine because he doesn't know for what purpose he his working . When there is no strong purpose for hard work , employee faces severe burn out and it affects company operation as attrition level rises due to hollowness in employees life. A commerce graduate should also know technology and new programming skills as rise in automation will force them to study Technology . The new education policy that NDA introduced , discusses about the future multidisciplinary education approach for this reason onely*

Rightly said Lokesh! I have come across people in their late 30s with career gap of 8+ years. Age is just a number as long as you have growth mindset and motivation to bounce back in your career. It's also vital to be away from people who spread negativity regarding career gaps. Also, network with those people that have weathered the storm with inspiring stories.

Great video. After passing out from engineering college in 2015, I had just 8 months of experience in Electrical sector. Then due to some personal reasons, I couldn't do a job. 4 months ago, I did a full data analytics course with many projects. Now I am a data analyst with a great package in a start up after 8 years of career gap.

@@Ana-vd1rl get proper training and improve your skills so it would be your latest activity and sure you can do mba for a new start but dont be dependent on mba.. just complete short term course get the job and start distance studies. And thank me later if it works for you 😊

I had taken admisaion to engineering course after 12 th but did not complete it.. So is it a Gap? What explaination should i give...i spent 4 years in engineering and left that course and took admission in BA econoics which i completed.
why did you skip engineering . it's a good course ,and After doing this, many career options would have opened up for you.

Finally, i have got a job in a startup , but on the old technology that i had experience on. The new course did not help me. Just a waste of money. I did it on SImplilearn.Initially they told me , that job assistance for ppl with gap will be given. Nothing like that happened when the course got over
