I truly miss living 10 minutes from there. Lived there from one Christmas until two Christmas’s later which was rough as it’s been nearly 15 years and I still seriously miss it dearly. I had no clue then the history I lived so close to. Here in Texas it’s like they hate model railroaders and have very limited remaining rolling stock and locos maybe a caboose in each town or some with depots but just a couple musuems across a state 12 hours wide and long and maybe 5 model train stores in the entire state left. There used to be 30+ ten years ago all you get is the train shows and with the world as it is now my lifelong dream layout is stuck in limbo 50% structurally complete with minor scenery detail and mocking.
Thanks for bringing these wonderful videos into our homes. Without people like you none of this would be possible. Loved all of the trains, wish I could have there. Next adventure please!
Joseph Tatham we’re going to a couple of car museums over the next few weeks. We get to look at the most expensive car in the world that’s kind of cool. Not that we’re getting away from trains were always doing trains to
If you like the frontrunner train, then I think you'd love the new Mexico railrunner express. It is a commuter train that runs from Belen, new Mexico, to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and ends in Santa re, new Mexico. It is a very fun train ride, as I've ridden it myself.
thanks you two that was one show that i never missed, but i moved 1300 miles from Utah. belonged to a club that did that show, and the Evenstan show every year. we were one of the first clubs to do the evenstan show, before they had the floor cleaned up we fried a few engines because of the iron dust in the air.
Like one frog said to another sitting on the lilypad:"Time is fun when you're having flies!" Thank you Mr & Mrs Toyman for another entertaining, great video!
Really happy you posted this one. More than a "Succulent Slice" of a great show. Have only seen one "Big Boy" in large scale and that was a "Rowe and Co." version(?). The piece get huge in that scale, to be sure. Look for the MTH "Big Boy" in large scale. Another model dripping in detail, sound, and smoke. Thank you for posting this one. I see N scale and appreciate the aspects of it. My eyes are way too far gone to play with that. Greg and Jeanne.
Hello we’re doing and I hope everything is going well there. This was a great train show, as always. Really looking forward to May of next year when the big boy will be at that same depot! If they wanted to bring 844 along that would be OK too.
Just love watching y'all. Your narration is perfect--comfortable and informative. Thanks for all your great work--always look forward to your next adventure!
Great episode. I didn't know that many people loved N scale. I especially love the combination of the custom Lego hotel and O gauge as well American Flyer. That must have taken many hours of planning. Absolutely brilliant.
Really enjoyed that show. I met a lot of new people and I got to see people I already know. I had plans on filming but I got so caught up, I didn't even get 1 minted of film. But I got film on the outside of the building!
Sure looking good so far!!!!! I was one of the "fools" who helped get it away from the state historical society and we moved it to Ogden. What a day!!!!! I have 40 minutes of video of the move. Make a good show at some point.
Thanks!!!! We have a few car vids coming. JUst sort of worked out that way, no real reason. We met the the most over the top collector.... Spent 44 million on just one of his cars. And has about 50 cars!!!!!
A friend has every American Flyer train and accessory he ever got as a kid. All like new, in the box. His dad made him put it away after every time he brought it out.
When her restoration is complete will the 223 make occasional visits to the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad in Colorado and the cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad in New Mexico? And when it's complete it will be the oldest operating 2-8-0 in the United States but for now D&RGW C-18 #315 is currently the oldest operating consolidation
That would be fun! We have great hopes of finding our way to Europe possibly this summer, but I doubt we’d make it that far east. But were notorious for just making things up as we go along so who knows?
I love your screwing around, one major question? What type of camera equipment and how many different types of cameras do you use when you screwing around? 🚂🐢🚂🐢🚂🐢
Wonderful video guys! I wanted to get up to the show but had school stuff get in the way. But I love all your guys’ videos! I assume you guys are located in Utah which I am too for school right now but during the summer I live in SW Colorado since I work on the D&SNG and as you can probably guess, I love trains like you guys! So if you ever want to meet up or do a collab video let me know!
Not getting anything done this morning, went to check you channel and been binge watching you drone work. Some of the best I've ever seen! Not sure just how we would work out a collab, but heck yes. Just wondering, where do you get your music and how have you worked out rights? Good stuff. Love People Get Ready. ANYWAY. Good stuff.
What an amazing show, some great models running. When will you be able to get your H0 turbine models running? - I haven't forgotten! Love your Video`s, Thumbs Up!
Hi Dale & Karyn. This was a really awesome train show and tour of the Ogden Depot. I would have been in "N scale heaven" if I could have personally been there in front of all that N rolling stock displayed on those dealer tables! The Wasatch N Scalers layout was truly incredible, too. I wish I could attend the upcoming national N scale convention in SLC, but I really don't know if my trucking schedule will allow it. If somehow I could swing it, though, then I would just love to see you both there! When did TH-cam start saying that you can't post links to non-Google websites? That really is news to me. If you recall, I was the very first person last year to tell about this upcoming national N scale convention in a comment that l left below one of your TH-cam videos. My comment included the same weblink that you just you just "vìsually" demonstrated near the end of today's video. But you could actually click on my link and it would take you to the convention website right from TH-cam. -from Tom Pilling
YES, and THANKS for telling us about that. Didnt know!! Google requires a special line of code anywhere on a pages HTML in order to link to it. They issue the code, you paste it in and then you can post an embedded link in a video on on your channel. Anything goes in comments. But after the Pewtdpie mess, where Disney ended up advertising on a Nazi death camp satire, Google lost over a billion in ads. SO they are trying to make sure the vids dont get linked to something they don't want.
We might have to do that by a more involved route.... as the train which leaves here, doesn't go directly to Texas.... But we will figure something out.. Planes, Trains and Automobiles.... And perhaps a trolly!
The problem is that Amtrak is not scheduled to go to Palestine, TX. Over the past few years, Amtrak has been coming through Palestine, Jacksonville, Troup, Arp(where I live), Overton, Kilgore, then Longview, TX and back on the scheduled route. I have not seen the San Antonio bound train come through only going back toward Chicago. The Palestine depot and TSR depot are about 2 to 3 miles apart even though there is a rail connection between the TSR and the UP.
Hi Dale. Between you and Karen, what would be the next best comparable brand next, down from Kato of n scale locomotives? I wanted to get started collecting a few but I'm not sure I could afford Kato for awhile. What brand would give me joy and not grief and regret?
Not sure. But I had an Atlas Diesel FA Year’s ago that was the best running locomotive I ever had. Their steam locomotives were made by Rivarossi and not so good. But that was a long time ago
Good morning! I've had some other people name Atlas also. But I'm really happy to hear it from you most of all! You are the toy man! LOL! Thank you for all you do. Have a really great day!
I really love these videos Karyn! It makes my day when I get the notification that there is a new video. I think you should do more on construction though! I loved the station build that you did. Marie and I are into fantasy and steampunk trains. Do you guys do the Garden Railway conventions? Our layout will be in the 2019 pre-convention for Portland (we actually live near Seattle). Anyway, Thanks again for all your videos.
WOW Want to know more about 2019!!! THere are large scale layouts there we REALLY want to see. Seems its a garden railroad center!! Can you tell me more?
As I understand both the National Narrow Gauge and the National Garden Railway conventions are using Train Mountain on 02 Sept. 2019 as a joint convention meeting place. As the NNGC is Sept 4 through 7, the NGRC moved their date's to August 27 to 31. The NGRC will have Pre-Convention layouts in Seattle/Tacoma will be on 25 and 26 August 2019. I think my layout will be on Sunday the August 25th, 2019. I think the dates may still be in motion? However that is the last I heard.
How far are y'all willing to travel? I'd LOVE to see y'all here in Oklahoma especially Tulsa! We have numerous trains here and modelers that I'm sure would love to share their layouts! Trainnut1958 🇺🇸🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
Hi. We sort of just go with the flow. Hoping to get to dc and New England this year. But also Disney world. Or Germany. Or who knows!!! So we might get there at some point. We won’t know till we get there it seems.
I wish that the railway museum here was as nice as that one. The state railway museum here is appallingly bad. it's got lots of engines, (in some cases the only surviving example) and they moved an old station building and a signal box as displays but most of the exhibits have little information and the non-locomotive stuff is not well displayed. I still love it though because I have a soft spot for the Victorian Railways and it's not really represented much.
+Toy Man Television By Victorian I mean the state in Australia. Our railways were never that profitable so the colonial government bought the railway companies back in the 1860s. We use a wider gauge then standard gauge which prevented interstate travel because New South Wales went with standard gauge we hate to change trains at the state boarder!
For shame! Where is the grandchild who usually is in on the fun? Does she know you sneeked/ (snuck?) out without her?? Fine example you have provided to the rest of us!! xx Paul.
Yeah, dunno must be getting old(er), miss the little 'uns when they're not there. The lass I am referring to, your granddaughter, was a real character and totally unfazed by the whole filming it seems. Er treats involved I guess? No, not for you!, for her I assume. If she had given me the look, I would been a big pile of goo.... no willpower at all. Here have anything you like, Mom will understand.......
British and American rail terminology is very different. That's why there are two English versions if Thomas the Tank Engine. examples: Ties/Sleepers, Switches/Points, Caboose/Guard's Van, Conductor/Guard, Cars/Trucks(freight) or Couches (passenger), Signal Tower/Signal Box and so on. Here in Australia we use British terminology.
I'm Robert. G... I'm going to build a H. O. Model of layout of 4' by 12' x 14' by 12' a U Shape layout... 3 track's with an incline to the Mountain in the corner 90° down to the 14' Strich through to the City Town to reach the Train Yard.... I'm using a DCC System... Wiring will be set up by using a different color wire for the track switchs with red and black, The Farm scene, the City scene, and the TRAIN YARD WILL BE ON A SEPARATE CIRCUIT EACH... I hope that I can Pull This Off.... R.M.G... Wish Me Luck...
You kids are having WAY to much FUN!
Two more train shows coming up! One was HUGE! Will be the Christmas show too.

Another great train show. Thanks for taking us along.
I’ve got 2 that we Shot and have not shown. I need to put those together. Long story why I’ve been setting on them.
Not that we’re getting away from trains were always doing trains to
Bring on the fancy cars. Like to see the car museums collection.
Travelling around, looking at trains and train shows....I envy you two!
It's a lot of fun...

That roundhouse is looking great. Everything around here is gearing up for May 10 2019.
Another fun day thank you for sharing it with us.
Great show!!
Thank you! Looks like a lot of fun alright.
We always have a blast going to the Hostlers Train Show! Great people!!
Great post as always folks, looking forward to the next one. Thank you
Thanks! More to come!
Like one frog said to another sitting on the lilypad:"Time is fun when you're having flies!" Thank you Mr & Mrs Toyman for another entertaining, great video!
LOL! That just made my day!!

Thanks for sharing!
Used to liv in Roy and this train show is one of the few things I miss now that we're in Oregon. Thanks for making us homesick! LOL
Yes, but you have some great rides!!!!!!!! We are coming up this summer at some point...
Toy Man, let us know when. We'll roll out the red carpet and even show you where you can get a free train ride on a 7 in gauge railroad.
I can't imagine all the work involved in moving a layout and setting it up on a tour.
Most clubs only last a while as it becomes a lot of work. Some really get into it buying one or more trailers and building racks inside them.
Very nice. The have some nice layouts. Thanks for filming it all.
It is one of my favorite train shows! Thanks for watching!
Just love watching y'all. Your narration is perfect--comfortable and informative. Thanks for all your great work--always look forward to your next adventure!
Always enjoy your train videos, hope y'all have a great day!
Those are some of the fun ones to do! You have yourself a great week!!
Great episode. I didn't know that many people loved N scale. I especially love the combination of the custom Lego hotel and O gauge as well American Flyer. That must have taken many hours of planning. Absolutely brilliant.
I really love seeing some of those toy train layout. It’s just the a pitta me of a fun screwing around, no rules!
Toy Man Television I need to do that more often. Hopefully I can live up to your standards of screwing around. XD. Can't wait for next week's episode.
Fun Stuff in a real fun location. Thanks for the coverage!
Sure be cool to see these guys do a great Train shoot for May 10 when the big boy is at that station for a day.
Really enjoyed that show. I met a lot of new people and I got to see people I already know. I had plans on filming but I got so caught up, I didn't even get 1 minted of film. But I got film on the outside of the building!
It’s our favorite show of the year
Now those are REAL model railroads! :D Thanks for showing! :D Jack
Jack R Hi Jack. We’re working on a bunch of car shows right now! we found the worlds most expensive car, $44 million!
Love the videos man! Very educational
Thanjs
I missed it this year. The date just snuck up on us. Bummer. There's always Evanston, I guess. Ant Flat Road, here we come!
YUP See ya there.
The #223 looks nice. Hopefully her wheels will be spinning soon. Great show
Sure looking good so far!!!!! I was one of the "fools" who helped get it away from the state historical society and we moved it to Ogden. What a day!!!!! I have 40 minutes of video of the move. Make a good show at some point.
I loved this video so much and watched the whole thing! I’m so mad I didn’t know about this event as I live in Utah!
Always look forward to your videos! Keep it up
Thanks!!!! We have a few car vids coming. JUst sort of worked out that way, no real reason. We met the the most over the top collector.... Spent 44 million on just one of his cars. And has about 50 cars!!!!!
I still have my American Flyer stuff. As always excellent video Dale. And a shout to Karyn .
A friend has every American Flyer train and accessory he ever got as a kid. All like new, in the box. His dad made him put it away after every time he brought it out.
I had the automatic side dump car and "the cow on the track" accessories. What fun it was.
Awesome love y'alls video s
Matthew Lastrapes Thanks!!
Awesome!
Thanks!!!
Love to visit one day. It'd be exciting to see a C16 run once more.
It will!!
Toy Man Television
When it does, I gotta make a special trip! And bring my Westside Model Co HOn3 C16 with me.
3-11-18 Remember this song -- Pilot - It's Magic Top Pop 3:04 God Bless !
Dino Pulizzi Great song! Reminds me of high school.. draggin’ Main Street.... hanging out with my friends.. Those were some goofy days! LOL!
Really cool thank you
Fun show!!!!!!!! Big boy will bet at this museum in may 2019!!!!!!

Yes. Plans are to take it places. Chana for sure. Durango doesn’t do much of this as they run a tight summer schedule. But perhaps at times.
Thumbs Up! Great Video!
Greetings From Poland! :)
I wish i could meet you guys someday! 😊
That would be fun! We have great hopes of finding our way to Europe possibly this summer, but I doubt we’d make it that far east. But were notorious for just making things up as we go along so who knows?
see if you can find the trackers in Toole they might be able to get you into the trax building.
I love your screwing around, one major question? What type of camera equipment and how many different types of cameras do you use when you screwing around? 🚂🐢🚂🐢🚂🐢
We mostly use a LUMIX GH2. And 2 GoPro’s the old one lost its mic input so we bagged another. And we use our iPhones. Quite a bit.
Wonderful video guys! I wanted to get up to the show but had school stuff get in the way. But I love all your guys’ videos! What to see that. Wow cool.
P.S.
As usual I love your videos! Keep up the great work!

Hi Dale, I love your videos. Just one question, at minute 2:11 you said this was the Ogden Train Show 2017. It's actually 2018, Right?
Oops. Yup. If I wrote checks they’d all be wrong too!!
OHMYGOSH!! Is it 2018 already??? What happened to 2016????
I really love these videos Karyn! It makes my day when I get the notification that there is a new video. I think you should do more on construction though! I loved the station build that you did. Marie and I are into fantasy and steampunk trains. Do you guys do the Garden Railway conventions? Our layout will be in the 2019 pre-convention for Portland (we actually live near Seattle). I flew over Oklahoma once... Oklahoma City was right there! 😀
1:22 is that a patched sp or ssw (cotton belt) gp40 or sd40-2 if its ssw its pretty rare
Don’t know. Anyone know?
Have you been to the Milwaukee train show
No, love to get out to some of these other shows. Denver is on our list for sure. I'll bet Milwaukee is huge given it's history in model railroading.
It would be "cool" if the train modelers and the car/truck modelers would use the same scales.
It's 2017?? Whoa.... lol
Adam Pinales That’s just what I said..... Then suddenly I discovered it was 2018... When did that happen??
We need a form of daylight savings time for calendars. I fell back a bit. Ill spring forward in a week. Ready for summer.

Weren't the Turbines nicknamed "Big Blow"?
YUP. Did you see the show on what happened to the atomic train? All about turbines. Even ones that glow in the dark.
Yes the turbines were nicknamed the big blow
Toy Man Television have you heard of the T1 trust?
Gee no. If I declare my model railroad bankrupt will they fund it.
Toy Man Television : lol no, they are a group building a brand new per T1 4-4-4-4. They have made some good progress so far.
The reason they're not letting you in is because they have a very important job to do deal with it
For shame! Where is the grandchild who usually is in on the fun? Does she know you sneeked/ (snuck?) out without her?? Fine example you have provided to the rest of us!! xx Paul.
Yea, really missed having her along too. DANG!!!

Nice bombardier cars
Quite well done train.
Toy Man Television it's kinda like go transit
Goviacn Ont go transit.... don’t know it I guess.
Toy Man Television google it. It's from Canada. Or check out my video from yesterday. It's pretty cool.
I'm working on a section of my layout that's going to be a heritage park
Add a tiny little live steam railroad
Toy Man Television I did and a full scale steam train ride like the one at Greenfield village
Are LEGOS about O Scale?
Yup... One term used is "O gauge" meaning in runs on O gauge track, no real scale. Whatever is fun.
All of my locomotives smoke and I don't even have to add smoke fluid.
Usually it’s the soundboard smoking
The Brits lean toward "Railways" while the U.S. tends toward "Railroads." :-)
The brits use "cocking about" instead of "screwing around". Hum.............
The Brits have better slang.
And don't get me started about the names for different parts of automobiles !
British and American rail terminology is very different. That's why there are two English versions if Thomas the Tank Engine. examples:
Ties/Sleepers, Switches/Points, Caboose/Guard's Van, Conductor/Guard, Cars/Trucks(freight) or Couches (passenger), Signal Tower/Signal Box and so on. Here in Australia we use British terminology.

i wish you guys would quit showing the Ogdon show it makes me home sick, lol
I love going to Ogden. But glad I don't live there any more. Big crime problems. Bet they turn the place around.
