His "playmaking" has been mediocre at best. It's not a coincidence that his best performances have come with Chris Paul on the court to make the offence run more smoothly. Personally, I don't see "starting level pg" from Castle. He's a great "toolsy" role player (elite on-ball defender, willing passer, high basketball iq, good rim pressure+FTA per game) on a playoff team. His playmaking and guard skills are just not up to par with other starting point guards in the NBA.

Yeah as a Spurs fan I love him as well! He has no flaws in his game besides shooting and even then he has good form so I don't think it'll be an issue long term.

Castle’s great defensive skills and offensive potential make him a fantastic prospect long-term. However, Chris Paul, tre jones, Wesley, Brahman, vassell all will get playing time at the guard position, so his numbers won’t pop off the screen for a while
