It’s impossible to miss the point. This movie is extremely unsubtle, and beats you over the head with its messaging. It’s the exact opposite of “show, don’t tell.” The scenes with the possum were so unsubtle and so lazily written in my opinion. The goose having his angsty teen phase was sooo over the top and unsubtle. The goose bullies felt like they were out of a bad 90s sitcom. Just extreme lack of subtlety all around.
@Broomstickles I can't argue with the possum scene but the "angsty teen phase" was Brightbill finding out Roz killed his parents and the goose bullies were there to add a degree of separation between Brightbill and the other geese because he's a runt.
yeah i think their ideas were good, but the execution wasn’t great. How people can watch the scene where the goose bullies are bullying brightbill and say that’s good writing is just crazy to me. I feel the same way about the possum scenes. Pretty much every line of dialogue that fox had. Visually stunning. Bad writing. Incredibly unsubtle.
The animals talking feels wrong to me but I've come to understand that it's required for the plot to progress and to build the relationships between characters. I'm not sure what you mean by crazy with the bulling scene because it seems completely reasonable.
I think you missed the point. It's a movie about letting go, family, and acceptance. I'm questioning if this is rage bait
