Giorgos Dalaras (Pronounced like Yor- Goss) it the best selling Greek singer of all time and often tours around the world doing concerts all over. Both amazing artists! For those of you who don't know, this song was originally sung by Andrea Bocelli and Portuguese Fado singer Dulce Pontes. Also an amazing version! 🙂

You gotta listen to the original one and make a review by Dulce Pontes and Andrea Bocceli - O mare e tu. That's the original one. It refers to the sea (O mare) which is in fact the Meditteranean sea. Dulce Pontes is Portuguese, Andrea Bocceli Italian. So you have also the Greek version of it in the review you did here.
Another great singer for greeks was Tzeni Vanou..for me after Marinella is the best singer with Nana mouschouri.Listen to them and you won't regret it!

Dalaras, though highly political, was really good but at the same time underdeveloped as an artist. His tenor-ish vocals always screamed "i can do much more". Here in Greece artist rest on their glory. Stelios kazantzidis had similarly plateaued (the best of them all). The same with Vicky Moscholiou. She was the best female voice of Greece EVER, but never ever had she a global impact. Maybe it's our music industry wrong. I don't know... Glad to have lived at their times.
