Thanks. I feel you use KRs and OKRs. KRs are most important.
I head a department at a county agency. Our agency created (with the help of a consultant) a strategic plan last year. Recently the head of the County asked each county agency to come up with KPIs with no training. I’m wondering what is best practice. Should our agency work back from OKRs to KPIs? Or should we create KPIs and work on OKRs down the road?
For a little background our strategic plan has our vision and mission statements, inspirational goals, and how to figure out what resources we need to achieve goals. We have no measurable goals. Each department in our agency is responsible for creating own KPIs. I don’t think any one in our agency has a good grasp of KPIs or why we’re doing it other than the head of the County told agencies to to it.
