It looks like in the core of it, it's 'dimension'. But certainly with gamer-y rules, a strong theme, and more ways to control the scoring edicts. Anyway - I'm waiting for the 'Picture perfect - Everyone's seated' sequel where you are the couple preparing for your wedding and have to do the seating arrangement for your guests. I was sooooo good at it in my wedding despite all the constrictions, I couldn't stop bragging about it :-)
Happy that this game is almost out, have been following it for a while! The mechanics really remind me a lot of Uluru. In this case the theme is much stronger than in Uluru though.
The game looks really fun. I despise group pictures as well. Group pictures are like”Remember when we were all having fun and then you made us stop having fun to stand around for 30 minutes trying to take a picture?” NO Just take candid pictures of people having fun 🤣
The logic puzzle of the game was a bit too simple for me and the way to get more information a bit too random, but it is definitely a well made game with an excellent theme.
@@nshaw1299 That feels pretty reductive to say it's basically dimension. They both have rule cards and everyone has to manipulate their own pieces based on those rule cards. But beyond that, this removes the speed element and adds some deduction, strategic decisions of what envelopes to pass and when to place a VIP card, and how to play the auctions if you add that in. I think it's unfair to say it's is just dimension with a couple changes. I love dimension and didn't make that connection at all until I saw your comment.
@@Phildiculous In my main comment I wrote 'in it's core it's dimension'. I think it's a better wording than 'it's basically dimension'. But I'm sometimes indeed reductive. When I see games, some things feel like the core of the game and others do not. In this case, the core of the game feels to me, subjectively, the thing that comes from 'dimension'. So calling it 'original' felt incorrect. But I agree with everything you said about my comment making the rest of the game feel 'smaller than it is'.
Very surprised you didnt mention the see thru acrylic upgrade kit for this one. Lotta people got it at Gencon. I really hope they release this retail with said kit very soon, I gotta have this.
Jason Levine was very clear that they won't release the acrylic upgrade at retail... though I'm not sure if I believe him to be honest, I think he was just trying to pressure me into a sale.
@@Phildiculous At this time, Arcane Wonders will not make another print run of the Acrylics and only sold them as con exclusives. Jason wasn't pressuring you into a sale, he was trying to say "buy them now cause there won't be another chance". They are just too expensive to manufacture. Now, maybe that could change far into the future, but thats the info that I got from them.
2:18 I imagine he'd be happy to stand anywhere.
Looks fun! Gotta keep it on my radar!

Now, this is a different theme for a game. 😅 It looks fun.
This looks pretty cool with a theme that not only fits, but also hasn’t really been done before. It’s also a theme that everyone can get into.
rip dinner guests, they did not expect a giant hammer to come crashing through the ceiling
Tom stopped my heart a little when the hammer came down on them!
I'm taking photography classes at work this would be really fun to teach.
I love the theme and it really seems thematic!

Jason sold us on this game at Gen Con. We have a corgi, and had to get it.
Love the original theme
Thought the standees were acrylic. Missed opportunity there.
At cons you can get the acrylics as upgraded components. I did.

Looks like a unique and fun game 😃

This sounds like a need to have game 😉 it would be perfect when I have the family over
That definitely looks original.
it's basically 'dimension', with a theme, gamer-y rules, and some additions to control the 'edicts', so not entirely original.

this game work well with 2 players or just 2+?
