Lyrics
They're sleeping through the ages
Faces bare of names
Remembrance ever lies
At the bosom of the insane
Death's cold embrace
Across the restless seas
Unfolding the wish to forget
The eyes of the deceased
Thirst for the wine in my hand
Third from the sun
The heart of death
A thought for fake desires
Starving through the night
Engulfed in an earthbound fire
Left all alone among the dances and cries
They seed all the hate
Within the shade of sights
I think because of Cold Lake (which even the band themselves admitted was a mistake) a lot of people never gave Vanity/Nemesis a chance. And that’s a shame, because it is a good melodic thrash album.
The fact that 3 of these guys were from Hellhammer. Crazy.
The year was 1984, I was the long haired black rocker kid in the Scooby van with a 400 watt system crankin circle of the tyrants as the bruthas stared in horror, lol
How does one call this glam? It's visually different from their earlier stuff but the music has the same power. Everyone's too focused on looks
Christ, the intro, good Lord
Like the song . not crazy about the hair metal look
Tom wearing his L.A. Guns t-shirt like the rock fiend he is! Did Tom not describe Celtic Frost a long time ago? Look it up. Does everything have to be metal? Absolutely not.
Maybe I'm a philistine, but in what world is this "glam metal?"
It was a decent album, better than Cold Lake but still a big step down compared to earlier releases.
2 guitarists? No rhythm under the solo?
This is the best NYHC ever from a band that’s not from NY or is HC
Him wearing the L.A. GUNS shirt makes it totally rad!
His voice doesn’t translate to the glam look. But now listening to this years later I like it much more.
CELTIC FROST Rules!!!!
Vanity/Nemesis was a fantastic release. I do believe it doesn't get enough love these days or the appreciation that it should.
This sound is incredibly bad ass. Heavy as fuck. Yet just different somehow.
Absolutely love every song on this album.
Tom G. Warrior is a true original. I think I'd listen to anything he comes up with.
Had alot of technical guitar shit they were not known for but still had Tom's signature grunt!
This is fantastic and better than ninety percent of current metal of any genre. Uh.
