Honda Civic FC 2016-2021 Electric Parking Brake Problem Fixed [Filipino]

Recently got an error on dashboard “Electric Parking Brake Problem”. I tested both the parking brake motors but both are fine. Recalibrated the motors also but the error is still there. Then I went to an auto shop to scan the error and they found that the electric parking brake switch is the problem.

Didn’t understand you either but didn’t need to. Video was very helpful. I took the button out & cleaned it very well. Reconnected it afterwards & it worked perfectly fine as well. Didn’t have to order the button. Thank you for the video

great video, thank you. in case anyone needs the part number for the parking brake button that has the light in it I replaced mine with 35355-TGG-A32 from my local dealership using this vid as a guide. super easy.

I had the same problem. Assholes at Honda Dealer in Houston wanted to charge $150 just to look at it.....parts and labor would have pushed the total cost of repair to $300. I bought the part (35355-TBA-A01) from Amazon for $27.99, installed the replacement and it worked like a charm!!

I have same problem with my 2016 civic touring and I brought it in at Honda service and they could not find the cause of the fault and wanted 12 hours diagnostic charge and they said that is not guaranteed they will even find the fault. I have been doing the seat belt by pass trick but I will try replacing this part. Thanks!

You’re welcome. As I’ve said in the video, the first thing to do is to scan the fault. There may be other reasons that caused the error. Others have the same error but caused by a faulty battery. Others have loose wiring at the parking brake motor.

Scan the error. Use OBD diagnostic scanner.

Hi po, kakatapos ko po magpatint tas lumabas po yung electronic parking brake error nya. Ano po kaya pwede gawin? Pwede po kaya sa battery? Kasi naka-accesory mode po siya magdamag habang ginagawa nila yung tint.

Pwede sir sa battery. Yung iba po tinanggal muna batt for 10mins tapos binalik. Then tinakbo after mawala nung initializing sa dashboard nawala po yung error. Pero yung best way to know sir is to scan.

Here in Philippines, only two variants were released by honda in 2016. 1.5 RS Turbo and 1.8E CVT. Red for RS Turbo and Blue for 1.8E.
