      Overall not a bad job though, fairly straight forward. Thanks for the comment Ian 👍👍

    If you remove the passenger head light, it makes the process 100% easier, especially dealing with the alternator removal and reinstallation.

    Hi Gerard, Very helpful video. 2 questions. 1st Question, do you know any way of removing the serpentine belt without cutting it? most videos i noticed cut the belt and use a tool to fit the new one. 2nd Question, when you fitted the new thermostat and housing, you hand tightened the nuts and then fitted the hoses and alternator. Did you not tighten or torque those bolts further?

    Thank you from South Africa - Im busy getting my radiator fixed as I type and I am about to do the theromstat. Do you need sealer when fitting it back as I am going to use the same old housing and just change the thermostat. Last question if you have time. Do you think my car overheated due to a bad thermo? Overheating burst the radiator yesterday and last month the head gasket. The fan never kick in at 107degrees C which is another issue but the fan works becuase with the ac on the fan kicks in. Due to spending 1/5 of the value of the car this year alone on heating issues I am tackling it myself this though relying on videos like yours so thank you as I am by no means a mechanic. I am thinking change thermostat, fix radiator, fix another water leak near under coil pack, check the fan relay or else know what maybe even the reservoir cap - the problems just dnt end !

    • @mickydee84
      @mickydee84 ปีที่แล้ว

      did you end up fixing it?

    • @declansgamereview6523
      @declansgamereview6523 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mickydee84 guess why the car overheated. It was not the thermostat etc. It was a thermo switch that controls the radiator fan. I just bypassed it with a small wire. Note the radiator fan has 2 speeds so make sure both work. Should kick in at 105 Celsius

    Great video, thank you! My dad has this car and is suffering from low mpg and temperature gauge is only getting up to about a third of the gauge instead of sitting at 12 o clock. I'm thinking maybe the thermostat is the issue here?

    • @miahhealth53

    • @kojirosan9547
      @kojirosan9547 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Instead, there is a way to check the water temperature. Just search on TH-cam: "How to see the water temperature Ford Fiesta." You'll be able to see it, and although it may be boring, it will help you understand if you have issues with high temperatures.

    HI Gerard,
    Thank you for this video.
    My fiesta doesn't seem to give up much heat as it is supposed to. I've tried burping the cooling system and also flushing out the heater core but still no heat. Do you think my thermostat is about to go?

    • @CanMan125_
      @CanMan125_ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take my advice with a grain of salt because i’m not a mechanic. But i heard that when your car isn’t giving off enough heat, your thermostat is stuck open. I myself seem to be having the opposite issue. My coolant was boiling the other night. So my thermostat might be stuck closed.

    You need the mk version in the fiesta, people cannot use this video effectively because different fiestas have different engines. The video is good, but no one can find it without the engine type and version.
