I'm glad I was around and experienced what it was like to have the whole family in front of the TV watching shows like this, Flip Wilson, Sony & Cher, along with shows like the Grammy and American Music Awards and Motown 25. No VCRs back then. Cable TV was just starting so we only CBS and NBC at first, then ABC a couple years later.

A lot of stars got recognized after being on the ED Sullivan. Ed did a lot for the music of the 70's. I am so glad I lived in that time. But let's not forget the 60's. I'm 73 now and I really miss those days. It was a great time to live.

Taylor Swift is nowhere on my list of good music. FYI I’m 70 years old and been a music nut my whole life. I remember the first five years of my life this group and the Beatles were the dominant music on the radio. Both so different yet so wonderfully exhilarating musically. Can't imagine the 60s without either of them.

Thank you Ed Sullivan for helping to propel great music. I remember that the local record store on Monday would be sold out of whatever artist that ES had on his show the day before. No streaming, no music on demand, etc. And that’s how it was. Back then the music business was exciting. It was fresh. You had to “earn” the records you got. That made it even more special. Today we’re left with memories of those times. Thank God for that.

I remember the first five years of my life this group and the Beatles were the dominant music on the radio. Both so different yet so wonderfully exhilarating musically. Can't imagine the 60s without either of them.
The Beatles and the Supremes were the most iconic groups of the 60s, many others are great and iconic too but the Beatles and the Supremes are on a different level.
Born in 68 but this type of music was def in the background.

Thank you Ed Sullivan for helping to propel great music. I remember that the local record store on Monday would be sold out of whatever artist that ES had on his show the day before.
No streaming, no music on demand, etc. And that’s how it was. Back then the music business was exciting. It was fresh. You had to “earn” the records you got. That made it even more special.
Today we’re left with memories of those times. Thank God for that.
Stores, entertainment dept. Yes,happy shoppers would find music .

the O'Dwyer show was 24/7 in our family.
