    I like that Motor Mount. I see the point of the separate plate... makes seeing the gear mesh possible!
    BTW, in my opinion... Redcat Gen 8 Shocks are the Best. 😉

      You know I have heard that. Will have to check them out

      You should. I've never personally used Traxxas Shocks, but I've heard that they are pretty good too, but stick occasionally...
      Green Slime on the O-Rings often cures that. 😉

    Hi mate, I’m loving your channel it’s really helping me with my trx4 that I got for Christmas.. are you still using this motor mount? Is it holding up well, I was thinking about buying one as I’m noticing a quite a bit of unwanted movement on my stock plastic one, my motor drops and wobbles a little bit..
    Happy new year..

    Really like your videos, how do I go about getting that front bumper and the motor and motor mount? Again, great videos

    I see that you like the shocks that come on the sport. Mine stick. Most others that I have seen stick. How do you make them stop sticking?

    • @dway100
      @dway100 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BullgearRC videos get yourself a couple Traxxas shock rebuild kits. Part #2362. Use the white spacer that comes in the kit in place of the black one between the 2 x-rings in the shock bottom. It will greatly reduce the sticking. It's slightly smaller and doesn't squeeze the x-rings quite as much - that's what causes the problem.

      Also mine dont stick that much once its cycled a little bit. Once I change shock oil I will to the spacer trick to remedy it

    What's the benefit of the motor swap?

    • @DixielandRC
      @DixielandRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chad Harwick So Holmes motors are genrally hand wound and just have smoother startup and all around better motors. Now these are his entry level motors, they arent hand wound. These are made for a cheaper alternative to his high dollar motors. Just on the table the startup is a ton better than the titan

    What pinion did you switch to?

    • @DixielandRC
      @DixielandRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      15t. Can go lower. But have to change the spur as well. Going to this pinion slowed it down enough for me. But still has some decent wheelspeed

    I have a quick question for you. I have a Tekin 35 turn motor I was thinking about putting in my TRX 4, it’s a 440 Motor not a 540. Do you think it would be a good motor for this truck?

    • @DixielandRC
      @DixielandRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say a 550 can is needed. I have heard of some others running 540 cans and they not perform very well.

    • @Tinkfan53
      @Tinkfan53 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry for my ignorance but I am new to trail trucks having only run track trucks I don’t really know the difference between the 540 and 550. I do know about the windings and was under the impression that you needed a 35 to 55 turn motor for a trail truck. In racing we would use a 27 turn motor or less to achieve the higher speeds on the track. So for the TRX 4 to use a 21 turn motor sounds wrong to me. So can you help me to understand Traxxas decision to use a 21 turn motor in this truck?
      Thank you.

    • @DixielandRC
      @DixielandRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mainly for torque. The difference in the 540/550 is the can size itself. 550 is a little bit longer so the windings are a bit more than a 540.

    • @DixielandRC
      @DixielandRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me and the way the truck drives it is FAR better than the stock motor. After installing the 1080 it woke the HH motor up.
