If you join the military you are no longer a autonomous. You are literally government property.
Also, they brain wash you through reputation, sleep deprivation, and negative reinforcement.
Wars are only flight by poor people. Rich people fund wars, like Raytheon, or Lockheed Martin, etc.
It is a scam. Too many homeless vets. It’s cool if you don’t get stationed in Iraq and you somehow get an easy ride, but that takes luck.
If you use the military to learn a trade for free, and then intentionally get dishonorably discharged then that would be smart. It’s like free school but you’d have to be dishonorable to achieve that.
If this country was a constitutional republic, instead of a socialist leaning democracy, then it would be worth sacrificing for.
If the constitution is not followed to the “T” in this country, then who cares about a corrupted version of this country. It’s only worthwhile to fight for freedom, and it’s stupid to fight for globalist/ (UN) agendas.
Yes any agenda will be disguised as good for you, but that’s just because think tanks are really good at what they do.
If it’s not a military fighting for a constitutional republic, sovereign, free USA, but instead it’s a military supporting corporate interests along with political BS.
So all those peoples excuses are dumb because joining the military is a sacrifice and it’s only worth joining the military if it’s worth the sacrifice. Today it’s not worth it because the law of the land, administration, open boarders, getting involved with other countries wars, disregard of the constitution in lower courts, and the degradation of American culture make it very stupid to join the military.
If you are power hungry, want authority, want to get into politics, or get access to military grants then atleast u have some goals you can achieve through the military. US needs more militias bc the military is for the gov and our gov is sour at the moment. Hopefully this all changes though. It wasn’t always like this.

the military was always viewed as a stepping stone for enlisted. It was something to start with, get a skill and have a nice motch on the resume when they got out. Employers and college take veterans status into account when hiring or admitting. For a 18 to 22 year old, having that time in the military on a resume is going to help that person get a good job or entry into a school. If someone wants to make the military a career, then they go to an Academy. You need to put time in to get something back.

The dealership is not the issue, and in reality the used car market is not better than buying new, as long as one sticks to a realistic gameplan.
New cars can get an interst rate (this was before the interst rate increase) below 10%. Used cars unless you have great credit, is going to be over 10%. Then with warranties, their is a reduction if you are the 2nd owner as opposed to be the original owner.
The problem is getting young people with money to understand there is nothing wrong with buying a base model and buying what one needs and not what the like, even if on paper it seems like one can afford it, because as the months tack on, one really couldn't.

As enlisted, the quality of your life will depend on the competence and quality of your Commander, XO and 1st Sergeant. As a civilian, your boss is not normally involved in your life outside of work, but in the military, you belong to your boss 24/7. And the quality of officers at all levels can vary greatly. And you have no say in who your Commander and XO is. Plus, you signed a contract, so you can’t quit and walk away. Say goodbye to any free time if you get the attention of a bad supervisor. Remember, you belong to your boss 24/7 now. And to last until retirement, you have to get regularly promoted while surviving in this environment, or you will be forced to leave at the end of your contract. You get the security of that contract for a few years, but it comes with a price. Go for ROTC and a commission.

Sure at the lower ranks you are getting paid less, but you also have less responsibility and capability. Like in civilian life, your mileage may vary with regard to leadership. Some times we get great ones, sometimes not so much. As for contacts vs. walking away, how many jobs can you walk away from before it impacts your QOL and employability. Grow up, accept your responsibility, do your job, stand your duty and enjoy all the military has to offer.

It’s not about working hard than others and having the same rank. It is about being better than those in the same rank, being respected as such, and having pride in your own performance. The military is not a place to be selfish. It can be hard on you and your family for reasons that are just inherent to any military. Hard work, average pay, time deployed, possibility of combat, following orders, being squared away in uniform, etc. You should expect all of that before you sign your contract and then do your best while you are in. Leave when your contract is up if being in the military just isn’t your thing, but leave with your head held high.

Life is about sacrifices. A lot of these young folks joined right after high school. Some of them are so entitled. They want to get paid and not do the work. They think the military has to follow their rules made up in their minds. The military isn't for everyone. If you don't like it, do your time and get out.
