HISTORICALLY Antoine's family had some land in France in Belleville-en-Caux in Haute-Normandie dated back to the 1300s, in the 1700s King Louis XIV established as a Marquisate. During the War of the Polish Succession, Antoine will join the war, and after, he will go join his brother in St. Domingue to try to get rich on the plantations, but he gambles his fortune and ends up with pretty substantial debts that his brother had to settle... hence, disgraced.
