The pirates are my friends from the start, get them into a Trade Agreement ASAP, so I can buy Cannons, Advanced Weapons, Gold and ships. I have them both, in all games.
I was surprised at how enjoyable the naval combat in 1800 is. I became obsessed with a pirate frigate that destroyed one of my trade vessels and sent a frigate after it, it was a cat and mouse chase around the entire map, a very Master and Commander bit of role playing. Great video liked and shared.
@@perafilozofI'm pretty new to the game so only just starting to experiment with the special ship items, the heal in combat one has saved my ships more than once!
Im finally slaying it. 4mil banked and own most of the maps. 2 maps. I cant do expeditions no matter what my junkie captains morale not high enough even at 100% 1 skull it goes side ways fast and i know the bonuses etc but nope. Now i want to relearn how to group my ships and name them. I did it before 😂 this game is vast. Im almost ready to break out a pen and paper to take notes lol.

Hey. Love your anno videos. Keep em up. Do you happen to have a video that explains advanced military steamships? How to move from sailing ships into steam ships effectively and when you should do so? I’m playing against Margaret Hunt and I’m having trouble keeping up with her. Every time I unlock the same tier of military ships, she moves on to the next one up. (I get frigates, she starts producing ships of the line. I get ships of the line, and she lives into steam ships). Any advice? Thank you!
Hello Miss Understood and welcome to my channel. Thank you for your feedback, I am glad to read you have enjoyed my videos. There really is no point in competing with the AI's because they cheat. Simple as that. As for that specific video, I will add it to my list of video to make as I am soon going to be posting a whole new series of Anno 1800 tutorial and tips videos. Thank you for the suggestion, and I hope you will like those new videos just as much as the older ones.
@@perafilozof sounds awesome. Can’t wait to see your new videos. Thank you for considering an advanced military video. Your old videos are very helpful. I request an AI breakdown video, if possible. No one has done an AI breakdown video or a fun tips and tricks to dealing with your AI opponents. I know you probably don’t like to play with AI, but there’s definitely a market out there for them. Or even a video on your top favorite AI combinations to play against. My favorite is Margaret Hunt as she’s so unpredictable and you always gotta keep her at bay, paired with the Admiral and Hugo Mercier. 👍 :) 🚢 🛳

i gave up trying to get a trade agreement and just have a fleet stationed next to both of the pirate bases, i just have it sit outside of tower range but close enough any ships leaving will attack my fleets and get destroyed (i have a island thats right next to the pirate base in the old world and just keep a fleet in my nearest island to the new world pirates)
@@perafilozof love it, just dislike how fast enemy's advance on harder difficulties, while you have frigates they have ship of the lines and three new world colonies, although I've found selling beer early game is a good way to advance fast
@@perafilozof also find it strange how pirates have 1 economy in diplomacy and no shipyards but ships everywhere, they can't make or afford to buy those ships, how do they get them???
Hi, I found these these tips which might help you with this: Your total population, at certain points increases it. In New world there's a sport stadium that can be eventually built that you can run events in that give influence. In New world Haciendas have policies you can set that give influence to specific hacienda resident buildings. In Old world the Palace and related local department have policies that increase influence based on specific tiers of population. Later investor residents increase it.
Yep. Continued playing the campaign after beating the Pyrphorians, and she declared war on me (though to be honest I had been trying to buy shares in one of her islands, so...). Problem; my fleet of 10 Ships of the Line get annihilated trying to destroy an island's defenses (mainly due to flame cannons and slow speed), and I'm forced to pull back my three surviving and heavily damaged ships. Worse, her island defenses rip apart my trade ships, so I'm left with Artisans and Engineers reducing the taxes they pay. Had to wait for three or so sessions until I could FINALLY build Battle Cruisers that could withstand and destroy those defenses. Sadly, my influence was then spent on conquering three of her islands, so I doubt I'll be able to conquer the ones that are blocking my hops/furs route to Ditchwater. At least she failed to do more than collect shares from one of my islands (I guess she'd had too much influence spent to take it over?). But she's still stubborn about accepting peace, so I'll have to go all the way and try to remove her from having any big Old World islands.
@@perafilozof No problem. At least after several hours worth of gameplay I'm winning the war and getting the hang of dealing with oil and electricity and Engineers.
