@@jordyn2896 in all fairness Keyshia, Jorja, Kehlani, Ciara, Rihanna, are considered R&B artists also. But the hip hop was missing. Whoever named the video probably took the RnB/hip hop because that’s what the group genre is branded as. I don’t doubt they know some hip hop tunes tho!

Yeah, a group's members not matching their own music's vibe is cringe to me. Like BTS' early years of "rap line & friends" songs giving little to no indication that the less "hip" members like Jin and Taehyung even listened to rap/hip-hop or even R&B. They eventually found a sound that suited them all, but I do prefer when I feel the group as a whole has an authentic interest in their promoted genre like the XG ladies do 😊

A lot of the boy group idols really enjoy hip-hop and it is evident. Not every female kpop idol does because…they ..make…pop with a slight hip-hop infusion i.e. twice, ive, new jeans, oh my girl, lovelyz…etc. the groups that have members that are heavily influenced by hip-hop (EXID with LE, 2ne1 with CL, 4minute with Hyuna, (G)i-dle with Soyeon, Blackpink with Jennie and Lisa, Itzy with Ryujin, Loona with Olivia Hye, Everglow with e:u, wjsn with exy, clc with yeeun, dami with dreamcatcher, I can keep going and goingggg). The group overall isn’t geared to hip-hop because they make KOREAN POP but the members who rap..genuinely rap (not like hyewon, dahyun, euncha/kazuha, irene/yeri who just happened into the position…btw I love these girls they’re just…not rappers lol and that’s on management/company not the idol because they sign very strict contracts and heck..they’re having fun. Leave it be lol) are clearly very much invested in hip-hop. Just wanted to point that out that there are tons actually. I do very much agree with you that it is a bit frustrating when companies feel they HAVE TO have a rapper even though there are no actual natural rappers present in the group because then the irenes and joys happen and it’s awkward for both the idols and the listeners…but I still want to add that there are tons that do love hip-hop and r&b, say as much, and if not…at least they’re having fun and exploring a new sound. 🤗✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻

AVEX Japanese company partnered with YB Korean company. This tells the world that J-Pop and K-Pop can work together. I love to see more J-Pop and K-Pop artists ( or Japaense and Korean artists ) working together in the future.

Actually this video shows the massive difference between Japan and Korea. Japanese people when they’re into a culture they really appreciate it not appropriate it. Koreans have built K-pop off the back of RnB/Hip-Hop AND J-pop. Yet NO credits is given at all. I just realised how crazy it is that most K-pop groups were created with members that have ZERO background in music or appreciation for music in general they just wanna be famous and part of the business. These girls just woke me up from a deep ass sleep that is the K-POP industry.

It’s literally so hard to believe they’re rookies? Most rookies have this natural shy/awkwardness during their 1st sometimes even 2nd yr after debuting but they really feel like they’ve been around for quite some time. Everything about them is so refreshing. What makes stanning them even better is knowing how much fun they have doing what they love. XG + Alphaz forever and ever! 🤍🤍🤍
They trained and prepared to debut for 5 years. So their bond is proven to be strong and their skills polished by the time they debuted.
@@COCOXIAOOOO yeah I know they trained together for 5 yrs, I meant that they seem like a seasoned group from the way they carry themselves & are very comfortable in front of spotlight, cameras and interviews and such. Even artists/idols who have been around for quite some time can show a bit of shyness/nervousness.
All of them had experience in the entertainment industry i.e. commercials, modeling, some were in Jpop groups that didn't last. Maybe that's why they seem relaxed.
Aside from training together for 5 years, some of them came from other jpop projects, modeling careers and some were students of Avex student academy. Korean shows like produce48 tried to paint japanese idols as untrained/untalented but that was just an AKB/traditional idol thing. Japan has a more solid industry. In Jpop most of them start and debut in small projects at a very young age and a lot of companies have a very strict training system too. I believe that helped them to mature a lot being so young.
FACT. Even in their live is so much fun to watch... They do it like seasoned artists!

They're funny because they're real and having a reality or variety show will exhaust them. They have dance/vocal/rap practices, recordings, language classes, and some of them are still in high school, so it wouldn't give them time to rest or have vacations once in a while I don't want them to be exploited😭
