I'd like to imagine that dying at one of their shows will send your soul into a never-ending loop of the last note of the last song played, the final note an infinite sustain for all eternity, forever and ever, amen. I could think of a worse way to spend eternity (:
Arin one day just has to show up in one of TWRP’s concerts just standing in the background doing all his little announcer voices for the songs he’s in. It would be amazing!
The Japanese in the title does, in fact, translate to Hidden Potential and is pronounced "senzainouryoku" 潜 - sen - submerge, conceal/hide, lower/hush 在 - zai - exist, outskirts/suburbs, located in 能 - nou - ability/talent, capacity 力 - ryoku - power/strength, exertion If this term sounds familiar, JoJo's and HxH (among many other anime) use the term "nouryoku" to refer to an individual's unique ability.
The fucking bass that Meouch lays down from the 2:10 - 2:18 is quite possibly the sickest, most groovy bassline I have ever heard him play, and yet it's so easy to miss if you're not listening to the song properly. Meouch was my inspiration for becoming a bass player and he's just reminded me why with this song (which is phenomenal in general by the way).
this song actually helped me get into art school 3 years ago. like most illustrators i constantly doubt myself and contemplated not sending in my application but i was listening to this as i was working on my art test and heard "Underdog, you'll show 'em all Overcome against all odds No holds barred because you know it doesn't end at the finish line Whistle blows, your training kicks in Blood runs high and you're ready to win Don't stop now, you can almost taste sweet victory!" and it made me hyped enough to just submit it, and i got in to the school :D
Lyrics: [Sung] lift it up, and put it down, Run real fast, jump off the ground, Work it hard because you deserve nothing but the best (the best) Learn to fly, then over time when it comes, it's your time to shine, Come so far and now you're gonna put it all on the line, Unlock your hidden potential! [Arin] Unlock it! [Sung] You can do anything, Unleash the beast that lies within. [Arin] Unleash it! [Sung] Unlock your hidden potential! [Arin] Unlock it! [Sung] trust in yourself and you will set the bar, You will set the bar, Reach the stars, Under dog, you'll show them all, Overcome, against all odds, No holds barred, because you know it doesn't end at the finish line (No, No), Whistle blows, your training kicks in, Blood runs high and you're ready to win, Don't stop now, you can almost taste sweet victory, Unlock your hidden potential! [Arin] Unlock it! [Sung] You can do anything! Ignite the fire deep inside, Unlock your hidden potential! [Arin] Unlock it! [Sung] Believe in yourself, you can reach the stars, And you will go far, set the bar, reach the stars! [Meouch; Tasty funk] [Arin] Unlock it! Unleash it! Ignite it! Unlock your hidden potential! [Sung] Unlock your hidden potential (you've got to, you've got to, yeah yeah oh), Unleash the beast that lies within (you can do it! Yeah), Unlock your hidden potential, You can do, you can do, you can do anything! [Phobos; awesome finishing guitar riff]
TWRP is by far my favorite band. For a while they had taken the backseat to NSP but now I feel like whenever I want to listen to music, like serious music, I default to TWRP and NSP has become purely something I listen to once in a while for a laugh. But that doesn't mean that Dan Avidan's voice isn't one of the most luxurious things on the planet, it's just the differing styles.
Crow senpai They have had a few songs with Dan as a vocalist for a few years now (The Hit, The No Pants Dance remake, Built For Love, Baby NYC, Starlight Brigade). I'm wondering if he'll feature in the new album tracks though.
Y'know how people have songs for feelings? Well TWRP is my go-to band for when I feel down. Y'all never fail to make me feel like I can do anything with them funky beats and optimistic lyrics. Feelsgoodman
Every part of this song makes me happy, from the slappin bass, the funky percussion, the motivational lyrics, Arin? Chiming in with "unlock it", and the crazy vocal harmonies. Thank you space bois
This song resonates with me so hard. I mean, I live a pretty tough life of a slow person. I always finish tests last, if not after the bell, I need time to take in knowledge, nothing clicks instantly, driving is infuriating because of all the mistakes that I do, my work ethic and schedule is fucked beyond belief, I'm a damn chain smoker too and I never seem to get ahold of myself. Fucking never. But this song fills me with so much confidence, with so much belief in myself, I'm tearing up as I'm writing this even. I love you guys, you change lives for the better and want to thank you deeply for it. Just... Thank you
That's the key, if you believe in yourself, you can do anything. It's definitely hard. I remember I was a wreck throughout almost all of my life(I'm 18 btw, so not that it means much) until I finally did well on an exam, that Single B+ in math pushed to at the very least tried and I through the attempt itself, regardless of whether I failed the next exam I still felt like I could do it. The two things that work trh best is self forgiveness, whenever I made a mistake I just though that I was stupid and retarded, but then I started to tell myself that, that was a stupid mistake, no worries, il do better next time.
I was just listening to Together Through Time earlier because I'm hyped for the new album, and look what a mighty gift TWRP has bestowed upon me. I love it, and I can't wait to see you guys in MN in September!
I've listened to this a few dozen times, probably, and it is just the BEST sort of chill pump-you-up music. I love it so much, and the artwork for the "cover" really lends itself to the right mood, too!
TBH I am fairly a new fan, and I have not bought a single CD since 2007ish. As soon as the minute mark passed in this song I immediately pre-ordered the CD and the shirt!
on a real note, I'm low key jealous of the engineer that mixed this song because I could just hit that 'solo' button on the bass track all day and not even be mad
Today, the day this song was released, an academic counselor told me I would never achieve my goals and I should change my degree. This song helped me realize he was wrong, and I can do anything. Thank you, all of you, especially TWRp. I love you guys, keep saving the world
