im just thankful as a fan that we have the entire rings discography AND Instrumental DIscography , all of the bands persoanl issues and drama to me is irrelevent, so many artists contributed to rings over the years, i appreciate and respect em all.
I know a lot of you guys weren't fans of this performance, but the shirtless guy in the front row looks like their #1 fan, fr. He knows their song, front-to-back, even conducting their performance at times! As someone who knows the guitar parts, I know that he knows those guitar parts! I'm glad that he got his money's worth.

I never thought I'd be able to groove out or headbang while playing fast sweeps and stuff. But that was also 10 years ago, either you get better or you stay stagnant. And these guys have been around a long time.

I saw RoS in 2019 and 2020 (literally days before the lockdown), once with Yo+Joel+Ian and once with Lucas+Joel+Ian and the 2nd time Ian was not happy & looked annoyed the entire gig, even though the crowd was having a good time. Then less than 2 years afterwards he quit. What a shame.

I can understand that the singer had so much of an impact on the band, and that people feel this band is not the same without him. I do like this band, but I don’t listen to them as much as I do other bands, so maybe I feel less impacted by this. But I love technical music, I thought this was an awesome performance, and I think this can really be appreciated by anyone who truly just loves technicality or pure instrumentation.

So what the hell is going on with this band now? I’m so out of the loop. Vocalist is gone I see. But then I see a touring video with no Mann involved and a vocalist. ??? Can someone fill me in.
To give you all the major details: In 2021 RoS kicked out Ian Bearer, their old vocalist, from the band because they wanted to take the band in an instrumental direction. They said they were getting burnt out of having to write the same sounding RoS songs from previous albums and they wanted to take their music in a different direction. In 2022 they released their first completely instrumental album that received a lot of negative attention from people, but there was still a group of fans that enjoyed it. Right after releasing the album they did a tour for it, and this video is from a show on that tour. Fast forward to April of this year and Joel (the other guitarist you see in this video alongside Lucas) left the band leaving only Lucas and their drummer Ryan as the remaining members. Being that Joel left fairly recently we still don’t know much as far as if RoS will end up getting another guitarist or if they’ll be playing any more shows soon, but Lucas has said that RoS plans on releasing a new album or EP between the end of this year and the start of next year.
Ian was great, but there are tons of dudes who sound just as good that might be a better match for you guys. Amazing band. Amazing musicianship, but get a new vocalist and keep going!
