The game is still og. Just shivers every time she says your watch is broken. Literally don't wanna watch the show and instead just replay the game. If not for all the tedious "puzzle" mechanics that naughty dog loves drawing their games out with.
I just realize that Ellie is voiced by Ashley Johnson, she’s the same actor that play Petra from Minecraft story mode. so I haven’t played the last of us for a while and I forgot about Ellie.
Game did it better. It takes it's time, lets things marinate. The TV show is just constantly reminding us that Joel still misses Sarah whereas, the game trusts the player that they will remember what happened to Joel. The game is subtler and more effective imo.
Just came here after reluctantly watching episode one of the show...I guess I'm glad it'll hopefully bring in new players, but I like the game way more. Maybe I'm not used to the show yet. But here the subtle glances and cinematography are perfect. And why did they make it so light when she was looking out the window when here it's dark? I think that makes it way more atmospheric. And you can sense Joel's reluctance -- he doesn't even want to look at Ellie, and hardly doesn't, and doesn't say her name! Eh, some parts of the show's first episode were interesting, but I like the game waaay better. And does anyone else think Bella Ramsey as Ellie looks waaaay too baby-faced to play someone who is supposed to be 14?? Looks like she is 10 or 11. Anyway, these are just my thoughts, and I don't dislike anyone for enjoying the show. I'm surprised I've gotten to share the story with my parents, finally, through it. It just makes more sense as a game to me.
To each their own, but don’t you think these are really nitpicky notes?

@princessthyemis i kinda feel the same way you do, i have made those same mental comments to myself while i was watching ep1. In any case, i am also enjoying the show with a open mind. It will always be hard to please everyone, its like when you read a book you loved it and then you see it on tv, its NEVER the same.
I much prefer the game version. The show is fine I guess but I can’t help but feel it’s miscast. I’m not even just talking about Ellie, I know a lot of people have there gripes with her in the show but I’m talking about pretty much everyone. Especially Tess. Marlene is the best cast character in the show. I love Pedro Pascal don’t get me wrong, but he does not scream Joel to me at all either. I just see Pedro.
Thank you. Joel has this particular, distinctive look in his eyes. When it comes to ellie, it's of pride and determination. The actor who played joel in the show showed none of that
TLOU2 was good imo, but then again it all goes back to it's either you despise it, or you love it, but the story of Ellie being the "villain" was great imo
@@umermansoor. alot of people misunderstood The Last of Us 2, it's a game about closure and ending the cycle that Joel started, Joel death was a result of his unresolved trauma about Sarah, in trying to save Ellie's life he only made it worse. He wanted to be a good man but he let anger take control. Something he passes on to Ellie. Joel solved all his problems with death and violence, it was only natural the little girl that looked up to him would follow in his footsteps. Joel didn't want Ellie to live the same life as he did, he wanted Ellie to prosper and live peacefully. in the ending Ellie realised that if he had killed Abby, there's gonna be people coming after her ( Probably Lev ) and that would risk losing more people that Ellie love and care about thus the cycle is just going to continue, Kill someone > Have someone who cared about the person you killed gunning for you > repeat. The Last of Us 2 was a great game, it might not hold up to The Last of Us 1 but it's still an amazing game. The Last of Us series is such tragic but very human story, thus making it one hell of a series.

He did what he had to do, to protect Ellie. Furthermore, letting us play Abby for 10 hours, was king a drag, and irritating, since she killed Joel. Furthermore, making Ellie realising all at the end, that she doesn't wanna kill Abby, makes LOU 2 whole narrative kind of weak

I agree it's not a satisfying ending as we all hoped for but that's what makes the whole story so tragic yet so human, Had Ellie killed Abby, the cycle that Joel started would just continue, and Ellie most likely going to lose more people than she already did or get herself killed the same way Joel got killed, regardless it's still an amazing game, but yes, playing as Abby was kind of a drag, it was just they were trying to replicate that bond that Joel and Ellie had in TLOU1 with Abby and Lev and that's where they messed up, the whole abby part was unnecessary, even if it was necessary, it shouldn't be that long, we wanted to play as Ellie not Abby, they should've focused more on Ellie

you should watch the show honestly, it is very faithful to the game. and the soundtrack and the visuals are absolutely beautiful
