      Correct. If individuals have coin, connections, clout, crews, computer code, control, corrupt communities, and shady opportunities... they hold power over everything. That's the entire point of wealth: control.

      Hmmm....Mom's For Liberty feels that children should not be exposed to sexual material in school, but says you can buy it, or take it out from your public library.
      So, you feel that children should be exposed to sexual material in school? (Keep in mind not everyone in 12th grade is 18)

      @@aishabintabubakr4944Again, point to specific examples of books that are promoting sexually explicit material. Also, keep in mind that a parent can opt out of having their child read something in school. What shouldn’t be allowed is your belief system infringing on the beliefs of others.

    This is wrong headed. These books are classics. They should be required reading for all children in schools. The dumbing down of books is un-American and goes against all that America is supposed to stand for.

      Huck Finn was one of the worst books I ever had to read (I threw my school copy across my house and paid $5 for a replacement and didn't have to take it home)

    If you are truly confident in your cause, you shouldn’t be threatened by people being intellectually curious. I may not agree with your views, but I will always encourage people to be intellectually curious, so they can have their own autonomy to make decisions that are fully formed. Anyone have and or see people have political awakenings at college?

    A hit job was done on my own series of books (via "GR" nonsense). That's just how it goes. Anyone is free to smear, debase, denigrate, attack, or destroy whomever and whatever they wish. It is what it is. 💪😎✌️

    I don’t believe in book banning I do believe not all books are age appropriate for all ages. Huck Finn maybe should be read at a high school or college level not at an elementary or middle school level.

      You may want to re-read Huck Finn. I read it in middle-school. It provoked long, thoughtful discussion and was my 1st introduction to literature about race, poverty and the legacy of slavery. To me, it was the perfect jumping off point and we were all completely ready for it. By the time we were in HS we were onto far more sophisticated literary fare and better prepared to study civil rights.

      I read Huck Finn when I was about 11 ... I loved it ; it was a great story and I couldn't put it down ... the book was from my older sister's class and now it was summer and I found such a great pastime in reading that .
      It did not
      ' damage ' me in any way .
