That judge kinda hates on klokov...if he wants to growl and shout before he lifts than thats HIS routine, it's what got him there and helped compete for a gold medal. Don't be criticizing his pre lift routine just because it doesn't coincide with yours
Agree with BROZKNOWS - smortskov was well & truly robbed. If that was a press-out at 09:14 then so was Dolega's at 10:54 - I suppose you could argue that Klokov was robbed as his lift at 06:54 was the cleanest of the lot.
Im curious how much all this chit chat about what Klokov's doing before he lifts is commentating analysis or simply hating on someone that is elite at something?
Benny Corona The arms have to be ABSOLUTELY locked. It cannot lock, and then bend again (at the elbows). Tobey Wins At 10:09 he did a clean and jerk.. There was no clean and press attempted. What he was asking was about the "press out" or shaky elbows, non locked elbows.
seems like Klokov complained about the discs on the left hand side of the bar were not tightened up (for his 227kg jerk) and I agree with him as the replay video showed some separation between the discs -could this contribute to the missed jerk?
@mimicat11 Apparently Klokov thought it did make a difference. I honestly couldn't say, I have no idea what it's like to attempt to stabilize 227 kilos over my head.
I was a really technical lifter(back in the days). There was no chance of me ever pressing anything out, It was either locked or missed. I think, keep the pressout rule pure in the snatch, but on jerks, if you are strong enough to press out and hold these kind of weights, they should give it to you. Then, technicians and beasts can both do their thing. I love great technique, but I have also seen some superhuman feats of pure beastlyness on lifts that were turned down. Both things have a place.
Was very much looking forward to this. Thanks! ... Also, impressed with Bonks performance. I know he trains a lot with Marcin and it appears to be paying off.
for real the stuff theyre liftin now is crazy. i still think ilya ilin shows them both up you seen his 240 c&j? looks easy n hes 94kg. akhaev snatch is stupidly big tho
how much of you thinking a press out feels like garbage and hurts to look at stems from the fact that you know that it's against the rules? In other words, is a press out inherently wrong or wrong because it is against the rules? I'd argue you feel that way because of the latter reason.
Ofcourse it's because it is against the rules, but you shouldn't just mix powerlifting and weightlifting like that anyway. Allowing you to press it out, would be such a thing I think. Coming from someone who doesn't do powerlifting or weightlifting.
Of course Aramnau wasn’t there. He would’ve crushed ALL OF THEM AS usual like he did in Beijing 08 OG. Aramnau was the greatest heavyweight of that era (-105 kg class which doesn’t exist anymore). The strongest.
There are other events which require flexibility. and if you dont think a strongman needs power strength speed and technique you are also wrong. good day to you.
Chris W You have to jerk the weight to full extension in one smooth movement. If it only goes part of the way and you press the rest through strength it's no lift

+abrums188 This is the problem with the sports narrators. I would prefer if they would just keep their mouths shut. They like to spew a lot of crap.

Akkaev made klokov up his game big time. Especially if you compare his lifts pre 2011 to present day.
great video, young athletes in every sport should watch this
Cheers Frank, enjoyed that as missed it at the time.
He's never noticed Klokovs bow leggedness before this ?
Thanks for the video, great stuff
Very well said. I have seen some guys do some awesome lifts that were more or less pressed out of pure strength to the jerk. I agree.
Dolega got 3 white lights & russian lifter got 2 red lights .....not fair :(

What would you classify Klokov's jerk as? Technical or Strength?
Was very much looking forward to this. Thanks! ... Also, impressed with Bonks performance. I know he trains a lot with Marcin and it appears to be paying off.
I have never got a press out in the snatch or the clean and jerk
I have not missed a jerk in 3 years
at 956 it wasnt a pressout but oscillation that may have earned the red lights
Is there a ruling on if plates are loose? collars not tight?
this is the second time I've heard the world record c&j is 237 by tsagaev, was aramnau's 236 in beijing only good for a total world record?
It's Dolega, not Dolenga
It's pronounced like Dowenga in Polish.
Gerd Bonk is from GDR, not from Poland
I'd rather watch this with no commentary
for real the stuff theyre liftin now is crazy. i still think ilya ilin shows them both up you seen his 240 c&j? looks easy n hes 94kg. akhaev snatch is stupidly big tho
Judges must hate smorchkov, geez
@csaweightlifting powerlifting has a similar rule, if I recall correctly...
???
The fuckin press out rule (smorckov) fuckin ruins the sport spectator wise

Who are the commentators?
Nice deadlift at 14:10!
What's your point?

Yep, the press-out rule is getting a little ridiculous.
Beast-mode on 6:57
@PanPancerny12 Irek Chełmowski raczej

haha, he did deadlift for last attempt
the jerk of the smorchkov is good ..but the jerk of dolega with 227 kg is faill¡¡¡ no lift .
Why arent there any spotters to help if something goes wrong?
American commentator = WWE Wrong job here
if press seemed like garbage to u then i guess Pyros dimas wouldnt be the best OLY lifter in his weight all over time
O Melhor É O Polones Bartolomej Bonk.
There are other events which require flexibility. and if you dont think a strongman needs power strength speed and technique you are also wrong. good day to you.
Jeszcze się tam Irek Chmielewski kręcił uśmiechnięty... :( ...a dziś mają go chować :)
[*][*][*]
Strongman incorporates all of that.
let the man growl ffs...
Strongman is a sport...
Lol, Kołecki could almost beat them weighing 11 kgs less and at 18 years old :D Btw he can beat that world record in clean and jerk too :D
Can he though?
@@DDenissssss Well, I may be wrong but this 235 kg in clean and jerk was world record in both weight categories at the time.
@@DDenissssss And I'm sure that he would beat them both.
there was no press out , they know nothing about weightlifting SAD !!
Pressout is a terrible rule!!!!!!!
What does that mean? Elaborate.
Chris W You have to jerk the weight to full extension in one smooth movement. If it only goes part of the way and you press the rest through strength it's no lift
Clown attempts on world records should be money punished.
ok Mr Powerlifter
second as always
I wont you are too arrogant to argue with.
let the man growl ffs...
