Keith Whitman yeah the only reason I've known about this is from a stray TH-cam vid I found before the game came out, the game literally never tells you about it.

Dont forget theres also a 2nd air escape. R2 + back or RT + back :) Sometimes the above air escape still leaves you vulnerable to the combo, so the backwards air escape is also useful.

if air escapes cost 1 bar they would be too good and long combos wouldent happen in the game. spending 1 bar to avert a 500 combo is too good of a deal. also a few hits is generally enough to give the defender 1 bar, making certain combos unusable. 2 bars is a good price.
There is a background bounce in Atlantis (Trench Queen Nursery) as well. It's on the left side of the stage instead of the middle like all the other background bounces. Also, there are two versions of Air Escape. There's the Up Air Escape, which you mentioned in the vid, and the Away Air Escape (back + MB) which lands you further away from the enemy.
You said why aren't air escapes one bar? They would be way too prevalent. You build meter quicker in this game compared to the first. There would be no point in going for combos because once they have 1 meter, they'd always flip out. It's good as is. It's useful but it can be baited. What needs a buff is meter burn roll. It need way faster start up. Not frame one Invincibility but you shouldn't have to do a full dash before it starts.
It said darkseid took more damage. but the health bars looked identical after both I guess in competitive mode its based on hp lost which had to be equal to every character? it would be a lot easier if all characters just had 10000 hp

Pro players spends 90% in practice and 10% playing with better or equally skilled opponents to find caps in the game style. 3. Pro players have 1 combo for every situation. 1 combo only - the one you don't drop. 4. Pro players play for a set, not for a game. you are welcome. I have more, a lot, but I don't you are ready.
Was it necessary to leave the teabagging in there, or really even at all, because unless you stay undefeated, ya look really silly afterwords if ya lose the match. Great tips for sure though.
i always wondered how to use the bomb and divekick on interactables. i probably should have googled it but i know now. otherwise i already knew everything else. i thought you were going to mention strategies not things that are in the game.
that last tip was awesome I will definitely use that more now. do u have any tips on how to beat multiverse fights? sometimes I'll go head to head with a lvl 20 character with a lvl 20 of my own and place combos that do minimal damage :/ what am I doing wrong:(

Legend X Ronin I got it by playing online. I've unlocked 4 of his shaders through online. Something that doesn't happen with other characters I use.

I believe the air Escape cost you to because it stops you from getting your butt kicked so it cost you more to get out of it.
