Sounds great! Any engine lights with the new downpipes?

At first no. After several miles check engine light popped up due to the rear O2 sensors. I installed O2 extenders a few days ago. I haven’t driven it yet to determine if the light turns off.

@@NextLevelShift Gotcha! Well thanks for the content content as always, im hoping to get a 12C in a year or two so your videos are super helpful 👍

Simply Car Things that’s all I hope for. The 12C will become more of a DIY car as it gets closer to no longer being eligible for extended warranty.

Great to see! What downpipes did you use?
Did your engine light go away after the O2 extender you mentioned in the previous comment?

I don’t recall the brand of downpipes. Definitely cheaper than all the options out there. Check engine light went away right after installing the O2 extenders. I’ve since removed them due to a tune.

@@NextLevelShift yeah that was my thoughts, and wondering where they were from. Countless aftermarket companies charging multiple thousands of $ for $200 of bent pipe because it's for a McLaren 🤣

Doesnt removing the CAT risks having the exhaust gas more harmful? or is it managed in another way somehow? Just wanted to undertand.

Exhaust gases do become more harmful to the environment. I live in a non regulated area and don’t drive it much. Performance gains are very nice with a tune.

      @@NextLevelShift Okay understandable. 👍

Actually being an Exhaust system designer at an Exhaust Manufacturer I would say its really harmful for you in the long run if are frequently exposed to those gases at the start on the engine and while at your garage even with cat system on, as they have a min temp req called light off temp at which they just begin to start run 50% eff. so please think about it in the absence of it.

Thanks for the great video I’ve been thinking of undertaking this job myself as my local specialist said it will take a day each side to do. I’m sure it’s a bit of a pig but not impossible so will crack on

It’s not bad with the use of a lift. I had to change the height many times throughout the install.
