  • Week 3 of the 1989 NFL season saw Barry's first 100+ game including finding the end zone; the opponent...a team he would highlight reel throughout his career: The Bears. Barry left the game early with bruised ribs or he likely would have went for more the 120+ he ripped on just 18 carries. Classic Barry and a game he actually got some nice blocking; against an aging '85 Bears defense. His best runs from the game in his football life with the Lions.
    Check out the Barry Playlist, his first game with the Lions and last game with Oklahoma State:

    Your video is the very epitome of the word "professional". No absurd background music, low- volume, matter- of- fact narration, short and to- the-point previews of some upcoming plays. Well done sir- WELL DONE.

      I appreciate the feedback! We try to bring a lot of good footage, and as much as possible let the athletes do the talking, so to speak.

      @@TA_Sports awesome I don't usually ask for anything but I'm a huge rod Carew fan. I have basically everything on the you tube that's games or Highlights on some of my Playlists. There's maybe a bunch on Mel Allen's TWIB I haven't seen. But if by any chance have Old Twins Rod Carew Games or highlights ( I've got a some , I even have a game were Carew Had 4 hits a full game) I've got some angels highlights. But I can't believe there's not more games from at least the angels CUZZ he played 1979-86 and the angels was a decent sized market. Anyways I always try to ask at least once , you never know.
      Enjoy your format the way it is. Be Blessed Keep em coming I'm always looking daily

    My first reaction is he really changed his game up where as he didn't take punishment like this further along in his amazing career. It's strange to see him taking so many square hits

    • @TA_Sports
      @TA_Sports  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He took a lot of hits in college too, there was definitely a wise change in approach.

    • @HEC350
      @HEC350 ปีที่แล้ว

      @TA_Sports one way or another, he adapted to limit the hits and punishment taken. His first carry video of yours shows this. Barry, getting spun around and drilled in the back, would not be seen a few years into his career

      I was so lucky as a 8/9 year old kid to watch Barry live at the Silverdome. I saw him play 3 times (Lions won 1- lost 2 lol) but every game he went for 100+yds.
      Every time he’d get the ball the excitement of the crowd was palpable, and when he’d pop one? Talk about a roaring crowd lol.
      No player is on par with Barry, he’s the only player I’ve ever seen who could make a 3yd gain (after breaking 2/3 tackles & juking dudes out) look like a 30yd run or long TD.
      I’ll never forget the game he broke 2,000 v the Jets. It was around Christmas time and we were staying at my grandparents house. First half he couldn’t get anything going then boom! he breaks that long run that put him over the top.
      Such a humble man and amazing athlete who deserved a Super Bowl & could’ve got 1 had the Lions had a real QB. The Lions teams from 91-95 were legit…but without a good QB the good teams of that era would just load up to stop the run. Mitchell & Moore we’re a great combo but Mitchell was only good for 1 season.
