What a stupid video!!
He was the best
Barry Sanders was overrated. He made it to one championship game, and didn’t run for what? 20 yards?
He's in class with a lot of RBs
This was the day the Pride won.
Barry was amazing as a runner. Subpar as a blocker. His QB's got lit the F up when he missed. But that is eclipsed by his brilliance as a runner. I thought when Deroit le Zephrous Moss and Lomas Brown leave in free agency that was such a mistake.
Absolutely fascinating video, I've always taken a strange interest in sports from the 1940s-1960s, and how much has changed. In the case of this basketball game, presumably between two very good college teams of their day, the answer is 'a lot has changed!'. I wasn't expecting the speed of today's game or any dunks but I always thought old school basketball focused on the fundamentals. This game is extremely sloppy, with wild shots, very little passing or assists, lots of turnovers, and poor boxing out on rebounds. Not trying to be disrespectful but I've seen better high school pick-up games.
Evolution of sport for sure!
I'm from Chicago, I loved Walter Payton ... but Barry Sanders was the best running back I ever saw.
Thanks!
Stop talking
Barry Sanders is my first pick for my all time real life fantasy team. You always knew he would give you 110% and then some. No drama. Just a man who loved what he did and played hard. A true inspiration and role model for young athletes.
Barry was the most dynamic running back of all time. However, the GOAT is determined by who the all-time rushing leader is, which would be Emmitt Smith.
If Barry had Emmett Smith's Dallas line he would've retired with 20k yards within 9 to 10 years.
Stop talking...
A lot of misinformation, Barry Sanders had a good offensive line, you cannot play the run and shoot offense with a weak offensive line. Glover and Lomas Brown were two of the best linemen in the league. Another advantage Barry had is he faced at least one less linebacker on the field than any of the other backs we generally talk about had to face on any given play. Not trying to say Barry is not great, but lets be real, he played in a gimic offense that favored his abilities and limited defenses ability to counter him.
Definitely one of the top 5 all time running backs.
I met Barry Sanders in Home Depot on Southfield Road between 12 and 13 Mile about 15 years ago. He wasn't a limelight type of person. I remember it like it happened yes. He was in the aisle buying screws by himself. I said hello to him and he said hello. We just kept shopping. He is a very humble Man.
Wayne Fonts was a Class Act and A Winner. Barry was the Best!
Will you shut up!
😆
Pontiac Mi does exist you numb person !
Imagine if he played on. Good teams
He had many years left in him, He was the consistent humble player, alwyas loved how when he scored he did not go nuts doing gimmicks but when he ran by the ref he simply gave him the ball.....we dont have players that have that kind of respect for the game anymore....football has changed, the game has changed, the players have changed
Barry and Jim Brown are the greatest running backs ever, but if I had to take any running backs best four year span, I'd take Earl Campbell.
As An OU Fan. Every time Sanders carried the ball I broke out in a sweat. Mr. Sanders was the GOAT and still today.
If he was. On a good team just think what he could have done
If Barry swapped lines with Emmett you'd never have heard of Smith and Barry would've averaged 1800-2100 yds a season.
Best running back ever.
Cardinals were always the WORST TEAM , winning 4 games a year. B rated football team, was a good stepping stone for Barry. Warm Up for him.
You are a horrible commentator. If you would have just shut up the video would have been great with just the title and the video.
💙🩶🦁#20🏈
The best RB of all time . Hands down . He would have shattered all records if the Lions released him and he didn’t retire early .
Dude, you talk entirely too much!!!
Agreed!
Barry Sanders was the best running back ever played in the NFL who never had a great offensive line.
Why are you talking over the announcer….had to stop listening.
I have too in order to qualify the video as Fair Use. Apologies.
Watch the documentary on him and his family, not flashy, not arrogant, raised in a very respectful hard working family, what a contrast to todays woke super stars, true legend role model. God bless you Barry!!!
The narrator talks too much.
Agreed!
what a classless ahole how he left us high n dry buy quiting
Pretty chill narration, good content and analysis. Stick with this, I think you could become a successful u tuber. I’ll watch another.
I appreciate the feedback! Thanks for watching!
He was born with special gifts: He used them well : special man ❤
Just noticed #60 walk by... 😑😑
Thank you for proving the point that Barry never really had a great o-line throughout his career!
Yes he was
I’m a Cowboys fan and not taking anything from Emitt Smith, but without the line smith had Barry was the best.
Hey Kids, this is the athlete you want to emulate. Despite his talents, he was very respectful and he conducted himself with grace.
Thanks for sharing the footage. It is always a treat to watch vintage football.
Glad you enjoyed the footage!
Mark Moore was the hardest hitter I've ever seen in college. I miss that kind of football!
I miss it too!
What is most underrated about Barry was his durability Especially being a RB, you aren't supposed to produce at a high level for more than 3-4 years He almost never missed a game, never tore a ligament, making all those cuts, and lasted 10 years He only retired because he got tired of losing, and was never gonna be as good as Jim Brown, to his old man, so....
He was one if the best. Fred Taylor is another one, but didn't get the recognition thay Barry did.
Fred Taylor was definitely an underrated back!
Barry had great moves and was tough to tackle! Would've been interesting if he had a better line in front of him! But Walter ran for the Bears for 6 years before they drafted The Black & Blues Brothers to block for him!
Had to play for the worst team in history
