They could have avoided player resistance to change by instead making this project a Granblue Fantasy card game that's Shadowverse 2 in all but name. They could still crossover with the Shadoverse, RoB, etc. characters like Granblue always has. They already have people softened to the "metaverse" UI with the VS/Rising lobbies, Granblue just got a massive popularity spike in the west with Re:Link and yet they keep fumbling every opportunity to build up the IP like they claim they want to. EoSing Dragalia, Rebooting VS in less than three years, not having post-launch support for Re:Link and now EoSing Shadowverse all so close together make CyGames look like a very incompetent company not worth investing your time into.
"generous" and you show the least generous one, grandblue fantasy where peoples farm for half a year to get their characters as for the hub its something they already developped for grandblue versus and rising, so its not surprising they update their game with this addition
Cant trust a card company that burns your entire collection every 8 years when im still able to play with cards from the worst card company of them all from 30 years ago.
Yu-Gi-Oh? Oh no, wait, MTG. Actually, I'd rather they increase the daily free currency farm, 0.8 - 1 pack a day isn't what I'd call "friendly", it's only beating Genshin and/or HSR.
“Every 8 years” I like how your trying to imply that they done this before also your sinking more money into that game from 30 years ago with there increase production (almost a new set every month) power creep and now having a premium options then you ever would for this free to play game that you don’t have to every spend a cent on
At the end of the day, it's your choice. I just find your reasoning to be a bit odd, considering you're implying you won't be able to play with these cards anymore- when you still can. They've not announced that they'll shut down the servers, on the contrary they explicitly said that they'll keep the servers open and they'll change the format to keep things from becoming too stale.
A Shadowverse reboot is pretty exciting to me. I like the art and story design of Shadowverse, but it's just too hearthstone-y for me. Hopefully they'll take this opportunity to modernise their design, as much as can be done.
So earlier this year Legends of runeterra essentially died to me. They completely gutted it and set it to just being a POC thing which...no. Sadly since it was something a lot of us saw coming thanks to the games monetization being well Not that great at making money. Still it sucks that i haven't had a competitive online card game to scratch that itch. So when my friend told me that Shadowverse was getting essentially a sequel Yep ill be there day one to see if this is the thing for me.......or are online card games gone for me
The logic of having a stale meta is a false logic, Many people play older formats in irl cardgames. Because they like the pace snd diversity. Sometimes power creep reduces diversity and depth.
I really liked the classic era from launch until Tempest of the Gods. I dislike the combo-centric game Shadowverse has become. After Wonderland Dreams, I played almost exclusively PvE content. I hope Worlds Beyond gives me back the game I loved. But I am not happy about losing 8 years worth of cards. We'll see if the handouts for my account's progress are worthwhile.
I played SV for the first three sets and I'm not interested in playing again if we can't use our old cards for anything. "bUt EvErY gAMe dIeS eVEnTUALLY!!" No. Netrunner is "dead", but I can still use my cards to play and they've actually risen in vakue as they age. The "dead" formats of Magic still have monetary and play value. Not even giving compensation to old SV players is sleazy.
The biggest advantage of launching a new game is being able to "reboot" the stage, clean the slate of any powercreep acumulated over the years / not have to worry about how every new crad may interact with some random card released 3 years ago, and make the game feel more aproacheable to new players who want to start on equal footing with everyone else, instead of having to catch up to 8-years worth of content. Allowing old players to simply bring in their previous collection would remove pretty much ALL the advantages of launching a new game.
So far they've fucked up in 4 ways: 1-Not giving any info. They announced the game in December and barely talked ever since. 2-Merging Shadowcraft and Bloodcraft. The reasoning is that "7 classes are easier to balance than 8" and that "Blood's mechanics aren't good", yet we currently have arguably the most balanced Rotation meta with Blood having 3-4 meta-viable decks. Alsoo less classes means more cards per class and thus more potentially broken interactions, just like Crosscraft showed us. 3-Not giving veterans much freebies. Not only we obviously lose our card collections (which hurts but could be reasonable by itself), but also we know nothing about compensations, AND we'll lose our leader skins (it has been confirmed leader skins won't transfer, other unespecified cosmetics will). 4-The "maintenance mode" of the original Shadowverse is legit looking very good. Throwback Rotation, Custom Rotation, more cosmetics, scheduled events and potentially more balance patches. Some people may not feel the need to "make the jump" into Worlds Beyond.
I think it's dumb to create a new game after people spent so much money to get skins and cards. People won't be happy about that. They should create a system where you at least gain something from having spent money on shadowverse, just like smite does. I'm very sure World's beyond is going to have power creeping too, just like any mobile game.
It's very simple. They want people to start spending money on packs and skins again. The only way to do that is by making the cards and skins people already have, useless. Having cards and skins in Shadowverse will mean nothing anymore once the developer stops making new content and people stop playing because of it. They try to make it seems less bad by keeping the servers up but it doesn't. If they also want to reset the power creep, they can just do it within the current game. They can literally just limit all the currently existing cards to Unlimited only or a new format and start releasing new packs with new mechanics and lower power levels for rotation. Whenever a developer say that their engine is too old to keep making new and exciting content, it's a fucking lie. Proven by Riot. They did not need a new engine just to make a great 2D card game. It was for the open world 3D shit no one asked for. In the end, cygames proved themselves to be untrustworthy when they won't hesitate to shut down a game with so many players that have invested their time into for money. Shame
I like the game itself honestly. Shadowverse is a very weak adaptation by itself, they (the devs) will get some more time with this remake but I don't understand 1 thing. Nobody watches the anime because it is very lame & why would anybody watch it if theres a better option (Yu-Gi-Oh) & nobody plays the game because why would anybody do, this is Heartstone with evolution points. So, why the hell they dont invest their money to promoting the existing card game & implementing some new content to it instead of completely mass up the existing game and releasing it in a new package? The main reason nobody plays these games are that the only games majority knows are Heartstone, Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh and thats because of their marketing is way better. Theres no need for an entire shadowverse anime series, they should make stupid Facebook and Instagram ads like any other noname games does nowadays, and than they could reach more players. This Shadowverse 2 remake/release/update whatever to call, is a half-solution. After a year or so the playerbase will drop down back where it is now.
Very much a massive red flag for a company to burn away collections like this. Means that there's no reason to give them your money since they'll stop supporting whatever you get anyway.
“I cAnT tRuST a COmpANy ThAT buRns AwAY cOlLecTiOns” Nothing is forever yugioh will one day die magic the gathering will one day die even Pokémon will one day die and you will have sunk more money in them by the time they die this game is completely free and spending money is optional you do not have to pay a single cent
If anything, I’d like to see them stepping away from the “Quest” deck design. Over the years, SV cards design has been repetitive just because they are already too deep in this kind of design. There has to be a 1pp ping 1 in your face, 2pp ping 1 to your face twice, etc. because they keep making Wrath payoffs. And it got worse, because sometimes these quest decks either have too good payoffs or too easy requirements, or both. And to combat that, they make another quest deck that’s even better, instead of trying to stop that kind of design. It’s the one thing that made me fall out of love with the game. Quest design can be very interesting if done right, but now it’s just used as a way to give everything in a deck storm and/or to deal an absurd amount of face damage that the opponent just can’t do anything about it.
I was pretty dejected by the design decisions by the R&D team during Wonderland Dreams and didn't feel they had the skill and ability to maintain a balanced format moving forward so i stopped around there and didn't feel any urge to play the game again actively at that point. If anything were to bring me to look at SV2 it would probably be the last point, which is about the general social hub stuff mostly cause it's a smart decision by cygames to have mode in the game with variable engagement levels that will rope in many types of people to at least install it and look at it and possibly play some games over time while engaging with the app. They did something similar with Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising and i think it was a good decision there as well.
All I can see is the same game with the same graphics which were already outdated at the original release. The new player interaction "metaverse" system is something no one wants and no one asked for. Just as Zuckerbers Metaverse, which was nothing more then a retarded Idea from a billionaire no one dared to question and now absolutely no one cares about. The only good thing is the full reset for new players but again...just copying the very same outdated look is beyond stupid. Shadowverse 2 will be the biggest waste of potential ever witnessed
@@huynghiepduShadowverse has both mana system and rotation to dial back powercreep but no, they ramp it. I quitted during DoC (22th set). It's not the case with "When it's my turn to be broken" mindset Cygames was cooking.
I agree with him, lets get into yugioh ( main card game I play), It is usually played between arquetypes and some of the gets support. Even with inovative cards, said decks are mostly bad. They can't keep with the decent decks and get dropped.
Because they are stupid. They say that "7 classes are easier to balance than 8", yet Rotation has the most balanced meta ever right now. Also with 7 classes you have more cards per class, and thus more card interactions and thus less balance. And the excuse of "Blood is difficult to balance" is also bogus since Blood right now has roughly 3-4 meta-viable decks that don't overlap much, and they could've just reworked its mechanics without merging it into Shadowcraft.
@@EclipseZer0 Wasnt wraith blood tier 1 or 0 for heros? And I dont get how them lowering it by 1 immedailty means less balance its gonna be more or less the same if anything means more support for classes and archtypes which is a win. Besides the BIGGEST reason for the merge is because evolve, Evolve did it because of physical restraints (Ie not a cardfight vanguard problem with 24 clans to support) I dont think theres much of a problem with these classes merging because there thematics are literally the same with slight differences
not really deleting but bloodcraft is just hard to balance, at one point is useless and another time its freaking broken so shadowcraft is gonna help out with blood probably for balance reasons

EoSing Dragalia, Rebooting VS in less than three years, not having post-launch support for Re:Link and now EoSing Shadowverse all so close together make CyGames look like a very incompetent company not worth investing your time into.
"generous" and you show the least generous one, grandblue fantasy where peoples farm for half a year to get their characters
as for the hub its something they already developped for grandblue versus and rising, so its not surprising they update their game with this addition
@@Shuwa217HAHA! Fellow brother of mine! Lmao true on both and sadly I have extensive collections of MTG AND YGO. Recent releases at that!
God I feel this...
A Shadowverse reboot is pretty exciting to me. I like the art and story design of Shadowverse, but it's just too hearthstone-y for me. Hopefully they'll take this opportunity to modernise their design, as much as can be done.
If they really are dumping the main game then I'm done with the ip as a whole
So earlier this year
Legends of runeterra essentially died to me. They completely gutted it and set it to just being a POC thing which...no. Sadly since it was something a lot of us saw coming thanks to the games monetization being well
Not that great at making money.
Still it sucks that i haven't had a competitive online card game to scratch that itch. So when my friend told me that Shadowverse was getting essentially a sequel
Yep ill be there day one to see if this is the thing for me.......or are online card games gone for me
The logic of having a stale meta is a false logic,
Many people play older formats in irl cardgames.
Because they like the pace snd diversity.
Sometimes power creep reduces diversity and depth.
Money?
Not even giving compensation to old SV players is sleazy.
uh- you can still play with your old cards tho, just not on the new game.

Solid video
And now they pushed it 9 months. Leaving playerbase nothing to do.
Rage of bahumat then shadow interesting 😅
bof i enjoy shadowvers yet but i can understand the need for a reset
So far they've fucked up in 4 ways:
1-Not giving any info.
Shame
The chibi meta verse is questionable to say the least

@@UnoDosTres-qn4lmyou named three games I can just keep around as board games wat
I'm sad I'm losing my hatsune miku skin
After ditching YGO, SV really made me enjoy card games again. Really looking forward to SVWB.
Never get into Shadowverse because the New player gate. Might but this one up
All I can see is the same game with the same graphics which were already outdated at the original release.

I agree with him, lets get into yugioh ( main card game I play), It is usually played between arquetypes and some of the gets support.
Even with inovative cards, said decks are mostly bad. They can't keep with the decent decks and get dropped.
@@orangeboy240 yeah, it doesn't matter how creative a card game gets if the previous card released stomp the living hell out of the new one
Cause they tired of balancing blood
Not looking forward to it at all considering how they balanced the original game.
Yeah, cool, BUT WHY DELETE SHADOWCRAFT???
Rather than Shadow, it seems more like Blood is getting absorbed into Shadow.
Its not going away just getting fused with blood
