In a way, Ahab was a lot like Herod Antipas from the New Testament. Both of them enjoyed Earthly pleasures. Both of them already corrupt enough on their own. But their respective wives (Jezebel/Herodias) were 100x worse, corrupting both of them to the point where they were beyond redemption. Also, both kings had a prophet (Elijah/John the Baptist) who was constantly coming after them, and challenging their wicked ways. And both kings did sort of respect said prophet, but not enough to deter them from their ways.
