You're right about that. Cockatiels are more mild and amiable. IRNs aren't exactly unfriendly, but they're very particular. If they bond on you, great. But if not, then you may have a difficult time getting the bird to be friendly with you. If you're looking for companionship, I would go with the Cockatiel. I have two and I love them to death :)
@TheLazyDeath All parakeet breeds have potential to talk, but depending on their personalities, some might talk more or less. Budgies are usually the active talkers, cockatiels like to sing more.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmm why u here go away never gonna give you up never gonna let you down
I had my IRN for about 8-10 years. I had given him a golf-ball sized plastic open mesh ball that had a bell inside. One day he was standing on his perch on one foot with the ball in the other and he was picking sunflower seeds out of his food bowl and stuffing them into the ball, one by one. He had this ball almost completely stuffed full of sunflower seeds. I almost choked to death, I was laughing so hard.
Barry is our Manchurian Prezident You are true, but usually birds of the other species don't bond together like that. I have a cockatiel and a parakeet and my tiel loves me but the keet doesn't. Birds are odd, lol.
I think it is rare, but I seen a TH-cam channel with a ringneck that, would pay attention to her. Despite her having other birds. And he was very into the convo. 🙂
@@mitchellgant1396 Cockatiels are more likely to love humans than most other parrots. I know most of mine ,since they are given the choice (cage doors ALWAYS open) will fly to me, rather than staying around their flock. Guess I'm daddy bird.
that's cute =) I have a ringneck and two budgies and my ringneck is in LOVE with my blue budgue.. I'm thinking of getting her a cockatiel as a friend =)
I put a deposit on an Indian ring neck.I can not get him until hand feeding him is done, so I guess 3 or 4 more weeks I am getting the bird. I go to pet shop though and visit the bird and pet him ,so it gets use to me before he comes to my house. I am excited like a little kid I guess ,because my last dog died April 4th 2018, and I miss having a pet in the house. I probably will get another dog in the future ,but a bird will have to do for now .I was so attached to that dog that nothing will replace him.
I'm very sorry for your loss. I know that pain too well. I lost my 10-year-old Whippet this past August to congestive heart failure. It leaves such a hole in your life. Enjoy your new baby. You'll love having a bird in your world!!!
so funny; looking at your Ringneck i SWEAR its my baby! LOL and guess what my Pookie talks like CRAZY but doesn't say "Hi baby" go figure..TFS they are really really sweet..just like you
Did your two birds get alone right away? I grew up with cockatiels and I now I have one again but so desperately want a Indian ringneck, when I get my ringneck they too will be both boys. My cockatiel stitch is very young still and ultra sweet. So any advice to bond would be great, I’ve never had a ring neck before but heaps of other types of birds
@jmyz1991 they are so beautiful! is it ok to have a birdie alone, without a pair? and im planing to get a cockatiel or alexander parrot...which one do you think is better ? im a person who has very few hours to spend with the pets ..so what would you suggest me?....thanx in adv.
My 5 montha old ringneck hisses at my cockatiels ,he doesnt bite but when my cockatiels get close to him he shows agression , how did your ringneck react to your cockatiel, did he show agression?
Woah! Did u take them at the same time and age? Because i heard so much stories about Indian Ringneck killing cockatiel in one cage. D: Also i will take the oportunity that u answered and ask u.. Which one is better? Cockatiel or Indian ringneck?
+Koniaczek Koń cokatiel is really good friendly easy to train and fast learner though they have a biting habit . i got 2 cockatiel pair since as far as keeping them together i m not sure bro .... cockatiel is good for first timers
Rajarshi Bhattacharya Welp. My cockatiel was supposed to be tamed. Now he is scared of everything. He eats millet hold by hand though, so I guess it is kind of level up for us.
same here they r friendly but quiet a bit scared of hands and all , i want to release them inside my house but they dont come out on their own outside cage . lol but they look cuteeeee
Parrot so curious about cockatiel and even imitated cockatiel a bit

“Hi baby” Awwwe
Beautiful little birds! They are absolutely adorable 😊
Birds are too cute! Especially the cockatiel! :D
When birds bob their head up and down, it's a sign of territoriality and it means they want to be left alone.

I didn't know cockatiels and ringnecks could be friends like that
Just wow! I love this Bird 🐦🐦
I have seen at least 10 IRN's, and have personally known 3, and almost every single one says "hi baby!" in that exact same voice. Silly birdies!

when you have two birds, they're more prone to ignore the human

Cockatiels are PIKACHUS when i get a cockatiel im gonna name it pikachu cause of its red cheeks or orange
why do cockatiels sometimes move left and right when the cage is open as if they can't get out
you can buy breeder cage. they have dividers on them so they can be placed next to each other and probably be friendly to each other
My 5 montha old ringneck hisses at my cockatiels ,he doesnt bite but when my cockatiels get close to him he shows agression , how did your ringneck react to your cockatiel, did he show agression?
Whats there to dislike about this video??
