I'm almost 60 years old and I've been in dozens of bands and seen hundreds of live shows in my lifetime - everyone from Bjork to iron Maiden to REM to Miles Davis - and I can tell you with some authority that Enter Shikari is a great live act as judged against anyone from any time. Simply amazing. It's about fucking time we got more bands willing to bite off a big chunk of everything and spit it back out in their own unique way. Rock on!
The fantastic thing about Shikari fans is there are no fake fans. Nobody that just listens to them because it's cool or it's popular to like them. They are the most grounded, real band I have ever heard, and instead of being stuck in one style, each album has a unique spin on it and a different style. The real fans love everything they do and don't harp on "Take to the Skies was their peak" or "The Spark is them trying too hard". There is beauty in everything they do and you can feel the emotions in the songs. I can't wait to finally get the chance to see them in person. If I ever do, I will probably break down in tears because one of my best friends introduced me to them and unfortunately he passed away last year.
Awesome comment. Pretty accurate description of what most think of the band! And condolences on your friend, his music taste will live on through you :)
SO EXCITED TO SEE THEM IN DECEMBER!!!!! i owe this to myself. I've been poorly since 2006, till recently. So this gig is for teenage me. Can not wait. Finally, at 32....i get my chance while other bands i loved slowly faded into not existing anymore, or have members die.
Rou crying at the end of Airfield kills me every time. My favourite band ever. Glad I've seen them live twice and honestly I'd just travel around where they go if I could. Thankful for the opportunities thus far, though. Lost Jigsaw Pieces means a lot more to me than they could ever imagine, but every song since i found them in 2012 has been repeated so many times that it might as well be a bodily function.

I Adore shikari Fans so much. They cherish everything the Band does. Old Stuff, New Stuff everything those Guys Produce has a Special place in the Fans Heart. ITS insane!
i thought about it the other day. most of my favourite bands from way back, like blink 182, sum 41, hawthorne heights, underoath etc...everytime they put out a new album i would feel less connected to them. everytime shikari releases something new, i feel more connected, feel more inspired and more determined to be a better human being.
It's because they can completely change their sound, but they know what their fans like catchy anthem songs just like the opener just sets the whole pace of the show, a good mix of old and new with the odd remix or switch up makes for a perfect show!
"this song goes out to anyone having the worst year of their life." Airfield. Watching this band progress has been a true pleasure, as a young fan when take to the skies was their only major album. Im an American and Enter shikari are easily my favorite musicians/band to ever come out of the UK. Brothers across the pond... We salute you!
When I first saw shikari live in 2018 I cried at airfield. That song literally saved my life and kept me on this planet. I wish I could thank these guys as much as they deserve because I know I'm not the only person they have saved xxx
started crying as soon as the first sound came into my ears. i miss this so much. stay strong everybody (and myself, sigh..) dancing to this in the dark at 5am cause i am a freakin mess
8:32 Such an old song. I remember hearing this for the first time in, I think, freshman year of high school. It was alright, unpolished, a little awkward, but there was something about it that caught my attention. And now years later, this band has aged like fine wine, consistently improving with every performance, and you can really see the vision they had for this song. So cool to see the young bands vision of their music be fully recognized after years of blood, sweat, and tears,
I found this band by looking for metalcore with electronic influences around that time. This bad is so far beyond that. It's beautiful what they've become.
43:20 Shout out to Rou and the team - this year has contained my stepfather being diagnosed and dying with terminal cancer and finding out my mother also has cancer. Onward to a new year she's participating in the treatment and is going better than hoped. Hope the next 12 months is better, full of memories, health and happiness. Love to everyone, chin up guys and girls.
Ohh how much I miss these happy days... Music was always there for me... Let The Music Play... Ohh wolrd... Let the people love, let the people laugh...
One of my favourite ever gigs. I remember going through a really tough time in 2017 & the hour and 30 minutes i spent at Ally Pally was the best moment of my entire year. From moshing to the quick-fire round to then tearing up singing along to Arfield. Amazing performance from all of the lads here, truly special.
i was here too and was going through a shocker myself. This gig was very much needed. Have to admit during Airfield was one of the very few moments ive ever teared up at a gig. Seeing Shikari again in December for my first gig in over two years. Shits going down :D
I will never not get goosebumps at the beginning of Solidarity. Always think back to the time I saw their secret set at Concorde 2 and they opened with it! Unreal
This is probably one of my favourite shows ever. Was absolutely steaming. I remember Zzzonked coming on and honestly thought I was gonna die from dancing lmaooo
What an absolutely incredible live show. I can't wait for the pandemic to be over so I can get out and start seeing shows again. What I would have given to be at this incredible show. Rou is such a powerhouse and they've got such great energy!
hahahaha you think life will go back to normal anytime soon. lol how naïve, we've already given up too much to the governments and elites. I dont think live shows will ever be a thing ever again.
i remember seeing these guys live at pioneer in st albans back in 2005, absolutely mental live show even back then. Best live band ive ever seen, even 17 years later. Great to see them performing the old stuff still. Would be amazing to see them open with hence forth again.
Went to watch Enter Shikari for my first gig at the victoria warehouse in manchester last week and it was the BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!! i cant wait to see you guys again, Truly amazing!!
This show was that good, I spent half the time trying to work out what was coming from where. It was choreographed perfectly and for a venue that is known for dodgy sound the quadrophonics were insane.
Incredible job of the Audio Engineer here. It sounds perfect! Love it!!! And of course props to Enter Shikari, can't wait to see you guys in 2022 in Germany!!!!
I wish I could do something to bring back live music, but I guess ALL we can do is wait. I miss everything, even the bus ride home, where you're instantly best friends with everyone. I can't wait to see a sea of people wearing merch excited to see a show, they're also quite useful when you don't know the way to the venue lmao I miss this so much, I miss you all people a lot
Just booked tickets for the 2021 show at ally pally, can't wait to see these guys again. Remember going to see them about 14 years ago at the square when they still taped torches to the guitars!
Was with you back in 2005, still loving your music now. Really helping me get through all the mess of this pandemic - Keep rocking you glorious bastards.
That was a hell of a gig. Enter Shikari always bring it hard! Now leave me, I must narcissistically try to spot myself in the crowd from this recording!
I can't believe what a goddamn show these guys put on - not just audio but visual, creative mixes of their own shit, even more energy than when I last saw them 10 years ago - I need to go again ... fuck COVID!
Man i love to pretend I'm a crusty, dark hearted hardcore guy that only likes the heavy stuff, but Airfield and Adieu are just fucking beautiful. 😭 Rare to find a band that can touch so many styles so well.😭
hi american here lol & i've been listening to enter shikari since i was 12 (im 23 now :o) & i've alwayssss wanted to see them live in england like y'all get down... thankfully they've come to my state but the crowd was always lacking :( pls world get better so i can see them in the uk & fulfill my childhood emo dream lmao

Such a wholesome insightful comment
They're awesome live! I hope you get to go one day
Those lyrics of Shikari. Cant go wrong in any of their songs
I agree. I like almost every song of them. But it's also scary because Common Dreads is from 2009 and nothing much seems to have changed since then.

How they go from the those beautiful parts with Airfield and Adieu to the absolute madness of Zzzonked in one show is incredible.
I'm a Britt living in the US. Saw these guys in front of 200 people at the Pontiac October 2019. Absolutely criminally underrated.
Wish i was there!
And yet they still give a hell of a show!
they are huge and have been around over a decade. they dont come much bigger. defo not under rated at all.
i miss Rou's crazy hair
This was one of the best gigs I've ever been to
Seriously for a moment sit back ... listen to every instrument separately.... these guys are geniuses
As many times as a person can watch this... It doesn't compare to being there 💔 a shikari show hits so much different when you're in that crowd
