It looks like he has a 2inch, not sure the power tho. I have an 8inch dob and I have to use a Barlow to focus. Only have a pos Barlow at the moment tho. Hoping to get a good 2inch like this
Depends on where you are at compared to where mars is at. In order to counteract any celestial objects from leaving the frame while taking a long exposure photo I recommend getting an electric clock drive. (Basically motorized the axis’s of you telescope and track objects through the night sky)
With with planets you want to get as quick an exposure as possible and stack them together. Usually you take videos so you can stack all the individual frames together to get a clearer picture
Not at all true. If anything, it shows how far mars is, not how small mars is. You **perceive** mars as small because its far away. Mars is about twice the diameter of the moon.
This is a dobsonian telescope, not a refractor, which basically means it’s practically impossible to take a good picture with a camera/phone. This is because dobs use mirrors and refractors use lenses (like cameras). The average 8” dobsonian costs around £400 new. Also do me a favour and just try to put into perspective how far away mars is. You can’t? It’s 130,000,000 miles away. Or 5000 times around the earth.
@@tswanny86 Orion Optics. its worth 25 pounds. and then a tripod with 15 pounds. also with gso 2.5 barlow lens that goes for about 10 pounds. with a focuser that is for 30 pounds. also with a canon camera that goes for 200 pounds. so that makes a total of 285 pounds. I found the telescope and the other accessories in astrobiscuit's 100 pound mission. it may increase in price due to inflation. meanwhile a usual 8 inch dob telescope is usually 550 pounds with mount. the Orion Optics can take an image of mars 2x times bigger than the image than this 8 inch dob telescope.
The fact that you captured this is amazing
Thankyou! :)
So cool to see Mars captured through a dobsonian, great photo!
Well, did you see any Martians?
No..Get on it! 👽🛸
Switch out that straight through finderscope for a nice RACI finderscope. Your neck will thank you. 🔭🔭🔭
It’s okay bro my dslr is almost always dead too
amazing shot! ❤
how do you attach a camera to it?
With a 2t ring
And dobson 8 isnt even a photographic telescope and because you captured mars so well is amazing ❤
Really? Tell that to lyaphine who discovered a new nebula with hers
@@slippyg I've heard the whip sound
man the 8" is that big?
Did u filmed it with your camera ? And used pipp ? Please I need help my pictures I make are shit
I filmed Mars with the camera and a 2X barlow lens then stacked all the frames in a stacking softwear :) hope this helps
@@ASTR0FILMS how long do I film it ?

Hey bro your camera battery is low
Worth it buddy...
Any barlow lens used?

What camera do you have?
Looks like a dslr
Wonder how itll look through a 4 in refractor
Just have to stay up overnight...
This is soo Cool 🔭
Doesn't really look too hot. 8" and the cost should be better
for people who are wondering what telescope this is. it's a sky-watcher 200p classic dobsonian
How long of an exposure could you do before it went bad? (Not sure of the correct term for the motion of planets)

Can it be captured a little clearer?
Yes! But you can't drink tequila.
Yes it can, even with a Dobson 8. With a barlows lens I could capture its polar caps
No pole? 😢
Mars needs an specific position for poles to appear.

My 6 inch can't compete right?
As long as you’re stretching out the sides your all good
@@bobjohnson7294 LOL OMG
See the key is “Dobsonian” whereas you seem to be comparing the Johnsonian scale which is more of a borescope standard than a telescope one...
The biggest problem is I don't know any thing about processing and stacking and my telescope is discollimated
With my 6" inch dobsonian and a compact camera attached to the ocular I got much better results... Literally...
You got pics? I’d love see it I want to get into dobsonians. I’m aiming for a 10 inch
yes, but you forgot to mention the size of your balls who keeps that 6" dob in position
Hey what’s a great telescope to buy for a first timer, just getting into astronomy and want to get great captures with my daughter
any 8" dobsonian
Wow❤ but try to make it clearer

Crazy how a powerful telescope can barely make details on mars, just shows how small mars is.

Is that it? That’s all you can see? How much did you spend on this scope? 😅

yea i aint paying $500 to see that and the moon

a cheaper telescope can take images of mars better than you. haha

its without stacking i think
You are incorrect.
Yeah, no. Most telescopes won’t capture such a great image of mars. Maybe with processing. This image seems unprocessed
I have 1 of this telescop But its hard to focalisate
