I love throwing in a Trench or any Coat, during cooler days, with jeans, a white Tank or Tee and a pair of loafers/mules for an easy Elevated look...an added scarf (heavy or light) is a Game Changer !🌻

Loved the jeans with elevated look. I teach school and on Fridays I always put that pair of jeans on with a blazer, the shirt tucked, heels and my best Kate Spade bag. I’m set to go with a great day and maybe a great early evening out!

Wonderful video. One thing tho and I have been hesitating to say it, Christina you’re so beautiful when you stand in front of the hanging clothes make sure that your outfit is a good contrast with the clothes hanging behind you that way you stand out more.

Great tips, ladies! Did not think about the structured handbag until you mentioned it. Definitely brings it up a notch. I'm going to try to force myself to wear heels with my jeans more often. I've gotten lazy in my old age, lol.

oh trust me, we are in flats and sneakers 99 percent of the time too! But if you want to step it up for a certain occasion, the heels are great!

Great comments for a very nice look. Thank you, ladies! Personally, I find a lower heel more classy, not to mention more comfortable to wear and comfortable looking, than a high heel. From my perspective the structured bag and/or coat really add an element of authority or power to the outfit that can blend beautifully with the soft top and jeans - I think the masculine/feminine balance you were referring to, Christina.
Love this video. I just bought the dark-wash flared Citizens of Humanity jeans (at Evereve) and LOVE them. I wore them in 1st class on Air France from Paris--with a blazer and heels. Gosh, I felt so elegant. I think I actually adhered to all your recommendations--thank you!

@@conservativegirl3371 Not sure of the name but they are very long and have a fantastic stream-lined fit with a very flattering flare--have to wear heels or ankle boots with them. Cost $200-but totally worth it!

I so love your channel as a working women in her mid 50’s. I connect so much with your suggestions. I do have a question though- why are the example
models you feature often women in their 20’s and 30’s when the focus is women over 40? I sometimes see women who are older but it’s more difficult to consider a look when they appear on women the age of my daughters. You two are kind and supportive of living your best life and I’m grateful for that. Just wondering about the model choices. Thanks for listening.
We do our very best to feature a variety of ages, ethnicities and body types and often receive compliments on how diverse our videos are. Of course we are limited on the images that are available to us online. Our #1 focus is to show the outfits as inspiration and sometimes unfortunately those are only available on models.

Hi ladies! I’m so happy that you are back to “2” videos per week. Love this “styling up” our jeans video. I do follow this rule but love all of your wonderful reminders❣️ … but I have a question…uh-oh. I think you might cringe 😬 lol. Ok so you showed a picture early in your video of a girl with dark jeans, a black top with sheer sleeves and 2-tone ankle wrap heels. Yikes!! Can you please provide us with look-alike options? When that look came up, I had to peel my eyeballs off of the screen. lol Thank you!!!

Even in grade school I would always wear dark, non distressed jeans with a belt and shirt tucked in. To this this day, I feel incomplete if I am not tucked in and without a belt. Funny, how I dressed in a very untrendy way at time. But in reality, I was more classic. I also can't buy super light jeans.
I also dressed nicely as a teen. I never wore sweats or t-shirts. I leaned toward the preppy look. Levi’s, tucked in Oxford cloth shirts, and loafers.
Anything else ??
In the 60s girls had to wear dresses, even in the Minnesota winters. We wore stretch pants and boots underneath and took them off in the cloak (not coat) room.
I am the same way...I only wear dark denim u distressed jeans with a belt...classic styling. I have been dressing similar since high school...I never wear leggings and seldom tennis shoes if any kind...usually a 2 inch heel. My comfort zone.😁

I love your videos and ideas! But I think it is so interesting watching fashion trends in my area versus different areas around the country. I live in central Pennsylvania, not the most fashion-forward place in the world! Around here, it's basically farms, small towns and a big University where football is king (ahem... PSU). I would love more opportunities to dress up like this but it just doesn't happen much around here.
We totally understand. But I gotta say, sometimes the idea of a nice small farm town that loves their football sounds awfully nice!

Good tips, thanks. The only problem, in my opinion and in my personal case, is the high heels with jeans. I prefer a pair of sneakers or low heels shoes. I have two public buses to go to work and after the 2 buses I have a long walk to arrive at the office. And weather is not a friend...for the other part of the video I absolutely appreciate your tips,they are very useful. Thanks again 🤗

Never liked distressed denim . I always wear a darker Jean in the late summer / winter time . I wear light wash in the summer Yes it’s more casual but classy

What if you don't wear heels?
As I’ve gotten older I really dislike my hips so the tucking in and belt I’m not comfortable with but I do the half tuck
any other ideas for someone like me who doesn’t like her curvy middle ??
Love the darker washed jeans. My problem is finding comfortable heels to wear with jeans. I usually wear sandals or sneakers.
Try an ankle bootie w/ a square heel or maybe even a low mule or clog as they are back in this fall.
To be honest, so do we but when you want to bring it up a notch try a block heel or platform or a heeled boot or clog like suggested below. All cute and comfortable options that give added height.
