    I build ship models and it is by no means easy. Having said this, everyone should really appreciate two things that Olha Batchvarov provides in these videos.
    1. She makes the modeling look easy, and that certainly could encourage would be ship modelers to go ahead and try their hand at it.
    2. making an instructional video of this quality is also not easy and each is produced in such a way as to also look easy, and that is a further encouragement to everyone to watch see how the model is made, with hour upon hour work consolidated into a much more watchable learning program.

    Olha, this video/series is wonderful. I've always wanted to build a ship model kit like this and have drooled over the "mysterious" (to me) clamps & other tools in the Micro-Mark catalogs. Now that I've discovered your channel, I get to see what some of the tools are for and how they are actually used! Subscribed. ;)

    the "paper mold way" is a very clever way to position parts in a model like you do here. This method is also usefull in scratch builds. With accurate drawings you can copy parts one one with a printer, cut them out with scissors, tape the parts on a fitting piece of plywood in the thickness you need. Of coaurse you need transparant tape to do that. Then use a jigsaw to cut them out. That is the system i used to do several scratch builds.

    great series, and fantastic dexterity, esp. with the strut work, but one question, why do you sand away so much of these parts, to cover up the mistakes?, or is there a better reason, as one (novice) would think that a 'kit' comes complete, minus the glue, of course, and it be designed to "fit" each other, no 'fit-up' required by the "model maker".

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the set, all these parts are deliberately cut longer so that they can be perfectly trimmed. There are also spare parts if you cut incorrectly...

    • @cgnicolis
      @cgnicolis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is almost nothing like assembling a plastic kit. There are very few straight lines on these ships, almost everything is curved in at least one plane. The skill in building one of these models (or a real ship) is in getting the flat pieces to the appropriate final shape (known as "fairing").

    • @OlhaBatchvarov

      Доброго времени суток! Ета пила дает практически идеальнЬІе рейки, но я всеравно их калибрую до состояния безупречнЬІх. Я еще не купила для своей циркулярки сменнЬІ пластинЬІ для более тонких реек и я пилю не тоньше 0,7мм. Но на ней можно и тоньше... Я пилила 0,3x0,5 мм "соломку" с тонкой фрезой без проблем - главное запастись для разной толщинЬІ фрез разнЬІми вставками, чтоб планка не проваливалась...
