On 10/24 we absolutely killed it on stripers. Non stop action. Literally the best fishing day ever. Caught over 30 stripers. Nothing huge but all from 17-23 inches.

I’d bass fish but with something the stripers will also hit, which is about anything. Good thing the reel issue waited till after the bass lol😂.

They still here in the delta. I smack them on shore. Top water. Haven't caught any on swimbaits.

@BeardedBassin nah. I wish. Just decent keepers. I caught them by highway 4. Whiskey slough. And inland drive. My biggest was at inland drive. 10lb. On the A-rig. But for now just 19- 22inch

I’m looking for those 15lbr+ category, not to say that you can’t on a smaller bait but trying to find those monsters, that being said my PB is a 19lbr on a chatterbait with a 4in trailer 😂😂😂

@@BeardedBassin sure do fisherman’s has the 7inces in the salt water section they have a 2nd color called opening night but not pearl blue. I believe they have pearl blue at turners but just gotta check

We launched our boats together that day. In that green ranger. I also caught a giant girl that day. 7.2lb. Jerkbait style. She felt bigger but was on a jerkbait rod. 6'10 med action. folded my rod like it was supposed to be a 2 piece travel rod.

I’ll tell you what all my stripper have been caught on a jerkbait try it one time bro put those lures aside and pick up a 120 or 130 size white or silver jerkbait and you will see

lol you gotta get in the flats at liberty, top water, glide, and a-rigs all day, just check the tide table and bounce before it goes under a ft, all chart spook been killer since water is a little more clouded up with dirt, good luck

Congrats on that bass!! I would personally not change my game plan and grind it out until I figure them out. Best striper window for me is early in the morning or late in the afternoon to sunset. Not a guide but can always put you on a high percentage of catching a striper or a DD 😉

Nice catches, no matter what they were!! Hey, wanted to offer what I believe to be the reason reels come unseated or loose. I was noticing this on my crankin' and jerkbait rods (in my case it was a Powell Endurance blue rod) and I realized it was because of the method of palming the reel with the rod/reel being primarily held by the index finger on the front of the reel and the middle finger underneath; that middle finger underneath for righties means it grips the reel seat clamp and as the rod is being worked with the left hand, the middle finger is slowly loosening the seat clamp because it's turning it in the loosening direction (hoping you can picture that but if not, go palm grip a rod/reel and you'll get what I'm sayin. It's the middle finger of the left hand loosening the reel seat clamp. Anyways, thought I'd offer that up. I've since put a drop of blue loctite and no further issues; it don't happen on all rods but on any that it does, I use blue loctite and can still pop it loose if necessary for maintenance. Just something to consider. If it helps, great! Anyway, great vid as always!!!
Interesting I’ll have to look at that. It was a brand new rod and just put the reel on it so I assumed I must have not secured the foot enough but who knows!!!
I totally get ya. I never really experienced the reel comin' off but I was noticing sometimes the clamp would be loose and I'd tighten it. I think maybe because I have small hands so when I use that classic palming grip, maybe I tend to squeeze my grip and that's why my middle finger tends to rotate the clamp...who knows.
