This remake is so bias to Vergil. I don't know why they removed Dante's Quicksilver and Doppelganger. They don't surrender to Dante in form of Devil's Arm but they submit to Dante inform of lesser power.
I don't even think it was the engine to credit as much as how they left the game in a state where Inertia was practical. We had land cancel CS in the demo of DMC5. Removed for the full game. We had reversals in the demo of DMC5. Removed as it was a glitch according to staff in the full game. Similar things can be said for Smash which also got modded to bring back classic elements. If I do have to choose though without mods just on how the game feels... DMC4 and it helps that the best enemies in that game are more enjoyable though we don't have BP floor select without mods.
@MariaFlores-KAII You are right that the many uses of inertia was an accident which probably confused a few testers and beginning players. I still find DMC5 more dull to play and watch because inertia led to a ton of added interactions. It is one thing if it just added damage and trivialises the game, but style calls for more weird ways to move and hit stuff not less. I think Itsuno/the testers misunderstood this in those particular cases. They somehow saw over a decade of guides and style videos but missed the appeal despite adding a training mode where people could comfortably learn it.
This is a very silly question, considering the fundamental fixes done in DMC5 that DMC4 had. Switching styles and weapons with Dante always had an issue in 4 where's in 5 it's completely fixed. Edit: The issue to those who are unaware, was that there was "lag" when switching. Even you try to tap really fast for Lucifer, 99% chance that by the time you pressed twice, the game is still in the process of switching Gilgamesh with Lucifer inertia is just side feature that is only used by top players anyway.
