I'm here because _Thriller 40_ drops this Saturday. And I plan to watch all of the docs as a trilogy. It's only right. It's MJ. 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
It’s pretty good documentary
It was alright I thought Spike Lee would be the director of it but he wasn't
Off The Wall was the biggest selling album in the history of black music until Thriller.
Thriller is a sweep of sales, that makes even the white singers and bands stunned and drop their pants.
If the Triumph Tour had been marketed as a Off the Wall tour, i think it could have easily sold up to 30 million
We all knew from Day One that Michael Jackson star power couldn't be contained within the Jackson 5 he was destined and determined for solo greatness.
thanks for putting this up on youtube. this was brilliant. he gave so much, he wanted to be the greatest, but the world swallowed him up, every star on the way up makes big money for the media, the industry and the hanger ons. but once that novelty wears off, the money isnt there for just praising. money comes from salicious stories. mj was the king. but he brought alot upon himself. but its easy to say that in hindsight! RIP KINGOFMUSIC
Well said
Seeing Kobe...seeing forever the young man

Good documentary
The album sold more than 20 million copies worldwide, deposited four singles into the Billboard Top 10 and showcased (or, more specifically, unleashed) Jackson's talents as a entertainer, a vocalist, a writer and, most importantly, as a leading man.
Off the Wall signified MJ’s independence, and not just from the stifling creative control foisted on him by the folks at Motown. Over the course of 10 revelatory tracks, MJ serves notice that he's no longer the cherub-faced boy with the notable afro, he's a full-grown man, one capable of workin' day and night, not stopping 'til he's had enough and loving so hard that it cuts like a knife. A masterful mixture of fiery disco tracks (album opener "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," "Workin' Day and Night"), smooth, loverman tunes ("Rock With You," the McCartney cover "Girlfriend") and positively soul-devastating ballads ("She's Out of My Life," on which Jackson famously breaks down at track's end), Off the Wall is sumptuous, sexy and self-assured, a powerhouse that, through sheer skill of all involved, re-imagined R&B, disco and funk as not just so-called "black" music, but as colorblind, all-encompassing pop music, tunes that the entire world could groove to,And they did. Off The Wall has a lot of dance music because Michael went to a disco club called “Studio 54” alot where celebrities met at that time and he liked to see people having fun there, he was always too shy to socialize. This influenced the style of the album. Long Live The King Of Music Forever! Michael Joseph Jackson🤩🙌🏽👑💖🔥🌟#MichaelJacksonKeptDiscoAliveLiterally
Everyone has heard of Studio 54, it's one of if not the most famous nightclub in history, and Off The Wall was the biggest selling album in the history of black music until Thriller.
Well broken down Well said and great comment.
Wow Michael Jackson was a genius. How amazing he was.
no wonder Bruno Mars, The Weekend, Chris Brown and among other artists who were greatly inspired by MJ
A Masterpiece of record making … Sui generis …
this shows how hard michael worked.
I can’t help it is my favorite MJ. Record. I can listen to it all day long. It’s like silk 💜
To me off the wall is his greatest vocal album
Thriller is his greatest visual album
Dangerous is his greatest sound album
personally i think you could say dangerous was his best lyrical album. he got better with writing lyrics as the years went on
@@venes0297 but by that time he was social government events
Off the Wall natural musical elements thriller natural musical elements
I agree!
Michael, what a musical genius you always were ~ this girl who grew up in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, misses you tremendously. 😇
Pure genius. RIP to the King👑
THE FACT.. that THE BEST of the BEST…Michael jackson….was talking to my goat….Kobe…makes complete sense…..
The don’t stop till you get enough footwork
Omg when 🥹I tell you I love This Documentary 🥹🎶🎶🕊️Thank you MJ I learned how too sang because of YOUUUUU man 🥹🥹🫶🏾🫶🏾
He's The GREATEST TOO EVER DO IT
An absolute great tribute to the greatest entertainer artist singer Michael Jackson !
I love the scene of the London concert the Jackson's were singing Blame it on the Boogie, the ENTIRE audience were DANCING. Their music was so phenomenal.
I never knew that the Jacksons went to Phiilly for 2 years🥀im really enjoying the way that they are actually showing how it was not easy after leaving Motown 💞💞💞
Rod Temperton needs a movie
Yeah definitely should have been talked about a bit more here
Rod Temperton wrote songs. He also didn't wanna be featured in this doc. It is unfortunate @@RedDevil_Joe
why he only wrote some songs not all
@@travishylton6976 because he wrote some very iconic songs outside of the 6 legendary ones he did for MJ.
I can’t believe how fast they played those Off the Wall songs on that 81 tour
Michael Jackson is innocent forever and always
Love this documentary, one of my favorite albums of all time
It’s a great documentary
The first 12 seconds of working day and night is stuck in my head
I remember hearing this album for the very first time at a block party my older cousin took me to, I was seven and fell head over heels in love with MJ. OTW remind me of my absolute favorite and I am so grateful I experienced this genius and magic and wonder in real time and watched him perform live. Love you today, tomorrow and forever MJ, thank you for this documentary Spike!!! 💖💖💖
Brilliantly done!!!! What a great documentary
Off the wall was the best album Michael ever put out it’s singing it’s instrumental it’s true R&B Thriller was great don’t get wrong but off the wall was to me real Michael
Yes it was!!!
Without a doubt Off the Wall is his masterpiece
The BEST Mj documentary ever! ❤ So many obscure clips. Great job. Luv u Mj. ❤️🩹
🧝🧝🧝🧝🧝 pura magia MJ para toda la eternidad
I keep reinterating about the songwriting and producing staff of Motown going back to the Detroit,Motown days, the best second to none we still not talking about Stevie and Smokey talking about the other staff
Michael passed that even to the whole Earth on this planet.
50:00 The part I was looking for

Same here
That Louis Johnson clip has been viral years and i love that it's here. Love that Louis and Rod Temperton get love here. And David Williams and Greg Phillinganes.
He was so handsome! God bless him ❤
Thankyou for the best teenage experience MJ
no habrá nunca otro Rey del pop, es increible, cuanto talento en una sola persona!😊😊
Thank you for this upload!
Great story 🎉
It’s crazy to me that these people still didn’t believe in the Jackson’s even after hearing the music they previously put out . Hesitating to sign them? INSANE . Not hearing “shake ya body” and IMMEDIATELY knowing it was a hit. And then not believing that he would be perfect for “The wiz” and yet having to “meet him” to figure that out. Mannnn YT folks sure have always lived in their own bubble of mediocrity 😅
Foreal lol
Impeccable documentary! 🙌🏿
Gracias mjcontent es lo mejor! ❤
I love Michael so much 😩😭🥹 I just can’t explain it
His dance move at 25:58. Out of this worldly dance talent.
🎉¡Gracias por publicar este documental con subtítulos en español!🎉👏¡Eres el mejor!❤️
1:01:29 that bass line, 1:05:42 the most attractive woman that ever existed, but I learned too late she was never in my life, even now it cuts like a knife.

Thank you for the upload
Thank you for uploading this!
This is fantastic!
Absolutely brilliant documentary ❤️🎶
here after watching the thriller 40 documentary and i got to say i wish spike lee directed thriller 40 as well. nelson george just didn’t do it for me. it just feels everywhere not very orginaized and the mixing and cuts just felt scattered. i loved the unseen footage in thriller 40 but there just wasn’t that much of it and there’s so many random segments that just feel unnecessary like about the tiktok part and the bts inspo stuff it’s cool in all but shouldn’t be talked about for more then a minute and just felt like it wasted more of the docs time. i also feel like there wasn’t enough stories in it, no quincy a lot of the people who actually worked on it are dead even people from bad 25 all gone and stories forgotten and not told in it. Even Greg Phillinganes who had a lot to do with bad 25 i feel didn’t really say much it was really underwhelming. also nun of the family members where in it they barely talked about the victory tour i know all about the controversy and how mad mj got but nope all that left out of the documentary. overall i just feel these two documentaries bad 25 and off the wall doc are far better and it really comes down to the spike not directing it.
Brilliant Documentary 👌🏾👌🏾
Twas such a lovely documentary.
Good Lord, Jackie was so fine…

If I was the cameraman I would have told the dude he still got the comb sticking out of the big old 'fro, they must have been in hysterics when they finally told him.

@@grandmagisteroforderofjedy ahhh idk bro .. I kept on skipping the songs on the album I gotta do re listen to it again but “Off the wall” is phenomenal album
@@gabrielqueteimportante8499 : well. Everyone have his own estimate, but i love and believe, that "HIStory" album is a super -puper-mega-drive,bcs, Michael told to all, that here he is a REAL,real fighter! And i agree with that!👍
