Texas isn’t going to do it
This. All this talk of "legally impossible" is really not much more than copium for those who don't want it to happen. It does give the US a justification to take action against states that secede, but that's it. One of the main reasons why states like Texas and California don't actually consider secession is because of the practical benefits to staying in the Union. Things like free and unfettered trade from neighboring states, mutually assured protection on both domestic soil as well as for citizens abroad, and access to federal US institutions. I mean, the main naval base for the US Pacific Fleet is in San Diego, and NASA's main facilitiy for human spaceflight, Johnson Space Center, is in Houston. In the event of secession of really either of these states, what are they going to do about these crucial facilities?

Also like if ur in Texas
I thought the first state was Pennsylvanian.
I doubt the second statement somewhat, the Netherlands is aprox. 50 times smaller in size, and still the second largest exporter of agricultural goods, only behind the entire US.

TheRageGamer yup
As a Californian looking into the comment section here is like opening Pandora's box. So much hate for California despite it not really having much to do with this. BTW I still love Texas even when they don't like my state California.

Mystery Boss4704 I can tell that you’re 8. You have to do some research before just saying “I want it to become a country”.
Mystery Boss4704 same
Texas is actually very independent and self sufficient in many ways. One including the fact no outside state power lines run through Texas, they produce there own power and electricity for the entire state. Texans consider themselves Texans first and Americans second. They have their own way of life, lots of very unique cities and locations, as a native NY"er I love it down there anytime I visit.
The USA is essentially a federation. All states have relative autonomy
Real Eyes Realise Real Lies wow! Sounds like every state in the USA!
@@anotheraccount2052 umm no it sounds nothing like the other states in the U.S. You cannot deny that Texas is very unique in that they have litterally their own Texan culture and self reliant structure that most states if any don't have.
CrypticSilver
1) then why is New York City considered by most the culture capital of the world i went and I heard Chinese,Russian, Spanish then an English and gay couples all walk one behind the other you can’t deny that New York has its own culture and so does every one of the states sure I can’t deny that every state was a country before but most states are self reliance example your enemy California and most east and west coast states (hence why NYC is the countries biggest city) because it’s so self reliant
@@anotheraccount2052 because new York city is one city with a lot of cultures mixed together. I said Texas is pretty much it's own culture together. I've lived in Chicago and in new York at different points in my life and they both were very similar. They were both northern cities and felt very similar and even had similar accents. Texas is a state like no other. New York has different people with different languages and dialects, so? That doesn't mean new York has its own culture. That means it has many cultures living together in a city life.
Texas has a higher GDP than Russia xD
Kurt22 That's why this Russiaphobia is BS.
Kurt22 Although be careful President Putin *MAY* actually decide to have your state as an official extension of more land for his country {Russia}. {I joke because I love *Texans* }. 😉

Aidan, Commander of Nerdy Army. The GDP is 5 dollars. Making it the most impoverished country in the world.
Nah, you could fit people on the roof of the car, and the hood. That nearly doubles its population!
Texas would be better off if we were independent. The Texas economy at this rate in 5 years will pass California because California is losing corporate headquarters by the hundreds and most of them are coming to Texas.

aussienick01 im sorry to hear your from Melbourne
Desperate times call for desperate measures, you must as a nation build the Great Australian Inland sea to save the world from rising sea levels and gain a ton more beachfront property. It is the only way to make Australia a global contender!
How the f do u cry in "Austrailian"? You can't cry in a language
That bit about the Texan powergrid aged like repeatedly frozen and thawed milk. Sure, it's independent... and that's a problem for them.
As for the "no state can leave" -- the US signed the treaty to form the UN. That treaty states that any unique cultural or ethnic group may secede from the country which claims its land. The difficult part is getting the USA to obey international law.
If Texas became independent again. It would be a disaster for the USA. Texas owns the aerospace industry in the USA, medical, energy, agriculture, and the military industry. Also, it has the busiest port now. Texas would have extra money each year to spend on its infrastructure. It would basically be a Germany of North America.
Texas isn’t a “unique ethnic or cultural group”. It’s the same ethnicity as the rest of the US, whatever ethnicity that is.

What happened?
@@slnieckanahnoji4876 Texas’ entire electrical grid pretty much failed when a ton of snow and record breaking low temperatures came over the state a week or two ago, and it was the grid’s choice a few years ago not to winterize the windmills that power 20% of the state
Oh ok
Where in Article 1 Section 10 of the United States Constitution does it say a state cannot secede from the Union. Under Article 1 Section 10 of the United States Constitution if the Constitution says a state cannot do something the state can't do it if the Constitution never mentioned it therefore the state can do it because it wasn't added into the Constitution.
As a native Texan I say the term sussession has so much emotional baggage to it rather what we need is more like a divorce.

Secession.
@@jansonshrock2859 how exactly was America different? In the 1850s, we still had slavery, and we certainly weren’t the world’s dominant military or economic power. Those distinctions belonged to Britain and France.

Also technically we could succeed if the US broke one of the constitutional laws .The one that would most likely make succeed is the right to own guns
nameless reasons yes people in Houston love guns here
nameless reasons I mean, the 2nd amendment is loosely defined today with semi automatic weapons, fully automatic, and modifications, so the us could easily word it in a way that Texas can’t legally secede
ANYONE FROM DALLAS
J K fully automatic is illegal without the proper paperwork’s also what part of shall not be infringed so hard to understand
Jesus Llanas the point is that it was create at a time when guns were single shot only. Keep in mind that amendments were created , and are exceptions to “cannot be infringed”.
In late January 2024 it hits differently 😁
You should do an updated version now. Hundreds more headquarters have relocated in the past couple of years and most Texans would probably be ok with independence
Texas is #9 as of today, and Texas CAN leave the union and so can any other state. Fact.
I don’t know why he thinks companies would leave the state. If they do, that would just create a vacuum and other companies would move in. Especially since in the early stages, TX would probably let them operate tax free for the first 5-10 years.
@@acpropulsion6191I believe you're right. I know in North Texas, Dallas County is being bypassed for Colin County, specifically for tax breaks. Harwood is really the only consistent downtown corporation that continues to expand. Most are just residential now
@@acpropulsion6191 ? I honestly dont think an independent texas is a place anyone who wants to trade outside would go.
