And Ragtime has them aLLLL beat as far as beauty and speed combined and she has been going fast since the 60's and has placed in MORE Transpacs and Sydney Hobarts than aLL of the rest of them COMBINED !!!
I don't quite get how a billionaire like Jim Clark gets any joy from just buying the fastest sailboat there is. If he had built the damned thing, or even helmed it, that's one thing. But just going out and buying a boat and crew? Meh. Same with Larry Ellison and his Oracle cat. I guess it's a sign of the times in this new Gilded Age we live in.
