Awesome video! Wonderful footage of Comanche charging hard. When the wind and the waves are right, this boat flies! Second place in the first race she entered is very impressive, especially in the Sydney-Hobart, one of the biggest, best races in the world.

Comanche has taken line honors in the 2015 Rolex Sydney to Hobart race. She was 30 miles in the lead when she had a dagger board break. When they cut it loose, it took out a rudder. They were 15 miles behind the leader when they resumed racing. This boat is amazing, fast, faster, fastest.
Comanche just took line honors in the 2019 Sydney to Hobart, roundly defeating the other supermaxis. Mike Sanderson, skipper of Abn Ambro I in the Volvo Ocean Race Round the World was at the helm most of the race, and Stan Honey was back navigating the fat bottom girl again.
It would be super cool if when going through that rough ocean in the opening scenes that the boat had a killer sound system and was blasting queen to the crew for real.
They can be connected to various different winches, usually controlled by foot switches or by pushing the handles in or out. In that shot they are trimming the port sheet on that new headsail.
The best part of this race is missing: the bit when she went out of Sydney Harbour going like a rocket and setting a new record on the way. Mark Richards on Wild Oats XI was saying thinks like "Look at that thing go!" and "She's smoking". Great boat Comanche. Best asymmetrical ever too! She's known as "The Aircraft Carrier" because of the size of her deck! She is also now officially the fastest monohull in the world, having set a new 24 hour record in the Trans Atlantic Race in 2014. They covered 618 nautical miles at an average speed of 25.75 knots. I think the previous record was ABN-AMRO 2 in the 2006-07 Volvo Race at 596 nm.
