    Hi guys,I suffered from anxiety attacks which were at times debilitating. I've made a conscious effort to control my breathing and the results are ridiculous!!!. This has changed my life. Respect and Love form an active (now) 64 year-old male. Bless you all.

      Hello Wanda, could you recommend a good starting exercise or method to learn diaphragm breathing?

    • @wandamackenzie144
      @wandamackenzie144 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sparetoothbrush Hi. This is the video I often recommend. Just keep in mind he says breathe out the mouth. Don't do that. Only breathe through the nose.
      If you practice this a few times per day this will become your normal breath in 30 or less.

    • @sparetoothbrush
      @sparetoothbrush 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you :) I struggle to take even a single normal breath. My diaphragm just just doesn't want to move. I will try.

      @@sparetoothbrush @sparetooth In that case, I like to tell people to stand in front of a desk or counter. Put your hands on the desk bending over. You want your back horizontal to the floor. Breathe in and let your belly fall toward the floor then breathe out and contract your belly backward toward your back. Can you do that? It's a great exercise and strengthens the abdomen.

    I went to doctors for years for clearing my throat and not once did they ask are you breathing through your mouth. After I started breathing through my nose it totally went away. I'm 68 live in Colorado and have a pace maker but I walk a lot. Now that I breath through my nose I can walk forever lol. I practice your low air breathing several times a day and It has helped me tremendously. Another observation is that my blood pressure has dropped! I mean Wow......

    Is it best with the lightest, slowest, and deepest breath possible, all day every day? Or is there a rhythm (the "5.5 second" rule) that is optimal for regular breathing?

    Back in the day when I was born, 1951, they didn't know about breathing techniques not removing wisdom teeth or adenoids or tonsils and other extreme measures, as a result of poor breathing.
    What can I do now to improve the size of my airways, my my mouth and my nose - to normal breathing size?

    I developed allergy induced asthma from my dog 2 years ago at 33yrs old. It started with a constant cough then 6 months later into breathing issues and wheezing while sleeping. I’m trying to breathe through my nose but it is blocked 24/7 and even the unblocking technique he does isn’t doing it for me. I’m ready hoping this cures my asthma

    interesting,i didint understand what he meant by inch of breath,i understand that how they measure breath,for me to better understand what he is saying wouldint it be better if he could say what a inch of breath would equate to in seconds,also if he had done videos to accompany the breathing exercises,as it his hard to understand the graphs,and is hard to know if i was doing exercises correctly.

    I don't know if this makes it better. However that mouth breathing is bad is no news to dentists . At least not where I am educated. (Denmark) Neither is the shaping of the mandibula and maxilla (jaws) by tongue force . The problem is that no one talked about a solution that did not involve a dentist . I think it is the same principal that say it you are a hammer every problem is a nail. Lately I see several non medical people asking critical questions to the experts . To my mind that is a good thing. Look up Ivor Cummins challenging dieticians and doctors - and he's an engineer . We experts need to let go of fear and take part in finding true answers . After that we need to follow the money . There are massive financial motivators - even toothpaste is in that category . More rebels, thank you.
    BTW I'm in the process of creating a YT channel called thesecondopiniondentist-101 . I will make a video some day about this and refer to your channel . Guess this is not a problem. Personal grief has delayed my progress but it will happen some time. Wish me luck in joining the rebels seeking to help the non- experts against the fearful mainstream experts.
