I discovered Ana's great playing when I first watched this video, but I also discovered Pierre Bensusan. Along with being an incredible player, Pierre's compositions are very rich with harmonies and intricate lines run throughout. I feel like I'm listening to an orchestra or a pianist when I listen to him playing one of his compositions. There's so much going on. This is in standard tuning, but I understand he's playing DADGAD exclusively now. My favourite song by him right now is Nefertari.
Not her music though. She's certainly a skilled guitar player but, as far as i know, not a composer. Pierre Bensusan who composed this song is both a masterful guitar player as well as an exceptional composer. I sure hope her covering his song will help him get more exposure because he truly is a hidden gem.
It was a thrill to be able to meet Ana this summer after her concert in Boulder. She is friendly and personable as well as amazingly talented. Seeing her live in concert is even better than her recordings!
Just imagine, for a moment, a world in which a devotion to pursuits such as this is the highest goal; where a person like this replaces all of the politicians and movie stars in our hierarchy of honor.
My school paid for me to see Bensusan last saturday (spokane). Ana and he are two of the greatest guitarists in the world in their respective styles. But seeing this video is like contemplating time squared. Simply mindblowing. The thing about Bensusans performances, if that he nevers plays anything the same. Ever. Roughly a third to a half of his live shows are improvised on the spot. And that's what makes him amazing.
Holy heck, how many polyrythytms can you get in there Pierre! It's like classical Tool x10! And also played by one of the most beautiful women on the planet I love the way she plays and believe me I have heard everything she has ever done and I think she is the best classical guitarist male female ever Andre Segovia can't hold a candle to her
I'm a dyed-in-the-wool heavy metal freak, but this possesses such transcendental soul and beauty that anyone with ears could not fail to be moved by its power. Kudos, you angel!
Great performance!!! im amazed. This woman is probably one of the most talented classical guitarist alive!! and great sound qualitiy!! overall an amazing video
I've not heard this piece till recently. It's sad and moving at the same time. Well played by the artist (Ana Vidovic), and well written by the composer (Pierre Bensusan).
Been in love with this song for a long time!
This is ridiculously perfect. I don't know if there is actually any word to describe all the chills that both the song itself and the perfection and proficiency, world master class that you're developing while playing this tune produces in me every time I play this video.
She has already stunned me with her amazing tehnique and with her divine beauty... but I think this was the first time she stunned me also with her ability to bring the feeling to the composition. Very good Ana! If people listen to classical guitar in 2300, she's propably seen then as the greatest master of the instrument! :)
This is the most amazing thing I have ever heard or seen, and I play mostly rock and heavy metal. I have always appreciated classical guitar and this is second to nothing I have ever witnessed! You Ana are truly blessed.
She's wonderful. You should check out Pierre Bensusan, who wrote and performed this piece. He's incredible and it's great that Ana chose one of his pieces. His CD Altiplanos that this came from is great, as is Intuite. I also love Solilai from the early 80s when he was first starting out....I've been listening to that one since then and still am.
Play with heart and the technical side will just become a part of your journey. You don't have to be a perfect technical guitarist to reach through and grab someones soul by the throat - if it's sincere and honest and shows effort and talent (or skill) it's a winner. We can't all be young, good looking and sing Bieber songs but we all have heart.
If you don't like hairs standing to attention and hyperbole, then this is best avoided. Very human skills and fallibility blended to produce sublime and breathtaking piece. It took me a full thirty seconds before I could break silence by breathing at the end of this beautiful rendition.
Finally someone who's trying to interpret Pierre Bensusan and not only trying to do as good as ... (I know it's easier said than done ...) I mean the guy deserves it !!
It's not that she just is technically flawless, she plays and captures the mood of everything I have heard her play. That and she is stunningly beautiful.
Hi Jean, thanks for the info. As an amateur guitarist I learn more every day.Now if only I could play Altiplanos as good as Ana ...sigh... many thanks.
I totally agree...saw her last fall...as a lifetime guitar player and music lover...Yes, there is such a thing as greatness and virtuosity a real artist!
Another great interpretation of another master's piece. Ana is wonderful to watch and listen to as she plays with incredible intensity, passion and dexterity. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
Mr. Bensusan should be just elevated by the fact Ana elected his peice to play.Much as i love his eclectic style, she really adds warmth, style, grace, and, she looks like she is really enjoying herself here. Artist like Ana Vidovic make being stuck in this psychotic, chaotic world, enlighting even joyful . P.S. Must be something in Croation waters to allow creativity to grow to this level, dont you think?
The guitar has got to be one of the most difficult instruments to play at this level. There is so much going on: finger coordination, harmonics, touch on both hands, harmonic complexity, dynamics etc.
There are some players who just make me happy to play the guitar. Ana Vidovic's playing does just that to me. Beautiful playing and the candles add a nice touch :)
I think this amazing young lady is not only the best technical guitarist I've come across, but she's also a supremely musical person, a trait she shares with Julian Bream over a (for example) John Williams. It might be near heretical to say so, but I think she may be better than any of them. Surely a legend in the making.
I agree about the technical perfection. She seems to capture the mood of every piece she plays and draws all the juice out of the fruit. I play trumpet and among great trumpeters there is maybe one in a generation that has the technical purity she has on guitar.

Ana is one of those few artists that come in our lifetime. Her music comes from her heart and soul. What a truly remarkable musician.
Not her music though. She's certainly a skilled guitar player but, as far as i know, not a composer. Pierre Bensusan who composed this song is both a masterful guitar player as well as an exceptional composer. Her technique is out-of-this-world perfect!!!
Akira Uema Studied with Barrueco.
She really got to the heart of this very difficult but haunting piece by Pierre Bensusan.
Beautiful Pierre Bensusan composition.Greit performance by thr beuty and excelent Ana Vidovic. The grreatness!

Absolutely beautiful, effortless-looking talent - blown away!
Easy on the ears and eyes, I have had the pleasure of seeing her perform in person twice. Absolutely masterful performances!
This is so exquisite. One of my favorite pieces on TH-cam.
Absolutely beautiful playing, the setting with the candles and so-forth, romantic and sensual vibe.
I love this woman! The most magnificent sound I've ever heard! A tickling of the strings uncommonly managed. I love you Ana!
Well done to Ana for performing this wonderful piece! The playing is perfect. So is she!
What a gorgeous piece. She does great justice to both music and the visuals.
What beautiful tone and playing! Now THAT's what a guitar is supposed to sound like!
Ana, What a smooth and beautiful piece. Played to perfection. Thanks for sharing your amazing guitar talent with the you tube world.
Jim
First time I've seen a human as beautiful as the guitar and the music being played.
Bravo!
Incredible composition and incredible playing.
Very good. Very unique and fitting phrasing. Way out of the box.
agreed
Ana is absolutely astonishing! Love her style
I've not heard this piece till recently. It's sad and moving at the same time. Well played by the artist (Ana Vidovic), and well written by the composer (Pierre Bensusan).
Awesome performance, I Love this contemporary piece.
Been in love with this song for a long time!

Obviously one of the greatest guitarists of our time.
She has already stunned me with her amazing tehnique and with her divine beauty... but I think this was the first time she stunned me also with her ability to bring the feeling to the composition. AT 3:00 PM. in USA NOW.I still enjoy your playing. That is a beautiful piece.Thanks.
Truly amazing camera work. Probably caught his shirt sleeve on one of the candles as he stumbled around.
In the 8Os I heard Bensusans work.It still creates a different place in the right hands. Thanks.
Simply beautiful... Playing guitar means to 'play a lady'. Here I see and hear two ladies playing and respecting themselves... Simply beautiful...
Absolutely sublime. Power and grace. Those bare arms and strong, precise hands. Wow.
Ana Vidovic inspires me deeply. Where words fail... music speaks. Congratulations for the hard work of a life!
Wunderbar!
in the 13 years ivew been alife, i have never heard anything as beautiful as this...Bravo!
Probably the most technically faithful cover of a Bensusan tune I've ever seen. Absurdly proficient playing.
This music haunts my dreams and unsettles me. I love it.
good
I can't take my eyes off of her. She is as beautful as the music she plays. Superb job!

What a complete mastery of the Benusan's composition. The interpretation I have ever heard. Bravo! Mi lady.
If you don't like hairs standing to attention and hyperbole, then this is best avoided. Very human skills and fallibility blended to produce sublime and breathtaking piece. It took me a full thirty seconds before I could break silence by breathing at the end of this beautiful rendition.
super human skills setting a new bar for guitarist for many years to come
Beautiful composition. Beautiful playing. Beautiful guitarist.

if you ever read this Ana, love every note! Too many are just going to somewhere you really want to be. But still, good job.
Beautifull interpretation. Demonstrates Pierre Bensusan's composition skills. And Ana's mastery of the guitar.

Indeed, I have also never seen someone play a Bensusan song so well.
Quel son en plus !! wowww !! Bravoo!!
All I can say is: You are Awesome Ana
Most pleasing to the senses.
This is truly beautiful music and it shows what a virtuoso Ana is. Someone said this is how the Angels play. In that case I hope I make it to Heaven.
The guitar has got to be one of the most difficult instruments to play at this level. There is so much going on: finger coordination, harmonics, touch on both hands, harmonic complexity, dynamics etc.
So beautiful to watch as she plays. I love also how beautiful she is without tattoos. Ladies should be beautiful and she truly is.
There are some players who just make me happy to play the guitar. Ana Vidovic's playing does just that to me. Beautiful playing and the candles add a nice touch :)
Great hommage to Bensusan,
One of the greatest Guitarist
