Nice to hear you liked Tampere, I spent quite a few yearrs living there. A bit out of city center though in a suburb built around the University of Technology campus. Many many offices in Finland are no-shoes. Most homes certainly are. It goes well with the general low key relaxed and no-stress vibe that permeates everything.
The game is running great for me right now. Am I disappointed in how slow it is going? Yes. But there is quite a bit good about the game. But the Steam Comment section is toxic. You clearly see a cadre of dedicated agitators who spew negativity all day every day. OP - How do you get clean transitions to underground? First 3 answers - You can’t, the game sucks! Every topic. They consider themselves crusaders trying to destroy anyone associated with the game. Is super frustrating.

Completely agree with what you open the video with. As bad of shape as the game was in at launch, it was obvious it was gonna take a long time to dig out of that hole with the team size they have. Now, a year later, they're close to where they should've been on launch day. People can complain about the past forever, but it won't change a thing. Once the asset editor launches, I consider that the real v1.0 release in the reality that we're now in. And that v1.0 for CS2 looks like it's going to be the same as CS1's v1.0....a really good game that is a great foundation for 10 years of official and community created content that'll change the game immeasurably.
Great update, glad it was a positive experience. Interesting about the architectural influence, I hope the regional packs are still being worked on, because there is so much variety around the different cultures. Good job.
I think the takeaway from this for me is that whatever I may think of the pros/cons of the trip to CO it gave a group of passionate people who play this game and who never met each other the chance to do so. And that’s a good community! I caveat this with that I’ve not played CS2 but I still have some reservations about how the last year/18 months have gone. Time will tell on how quickly things start coming forward for PC and of course console!
I love Cities Skylines (1), but I honestly think if another party started developing a city sim in Unreal Engine today and Utilize the Apparatus Plugin for ECS framework, we could have a city builder/sim we have all dreamed of. I just don't see how CO could possibly bring Cities 2 to an equivalent level within the next 4 years without (again) completely re-writing the game. Even if Unity was used, I think CO seriously messed up on Cities 2 fundamentally. I was shocked we still have cells and not true plots. Here's to hoping, fingers crossed but not holding my breath
The fact the game still exists after the year its had and is alot better than day 1, is in of itself a huge compliment to CO. The issue was paradox forcing them to hit a deadline they couldn't and thats it. Sounds like a really cool time and place to be, they'll work hard and figure it out and paradox seem to of cooled their jets. Also I found you through CPP's stream so hi, your accent is like cool.
Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed with the creator meet-up. Does the company not use focus groups? Read forums? It's not difficult to see what the problems are. Thank you for being so open in this video.
Thanks for sharing this, I bought the deluxe version. I will keep periodically checking the Reddit and creators such as yourself to see whether CS2 has gotten to the stage where I would be willing to go back to playing it.
I think that I, occasionally, mentioned that I like your style of presenting your hobby-work. This vlog does not change my opinion. Great thanks for this! You have given me a new hope on CSII !
Thanks! This was awesome and so happy you got to participate in the event. I can't wait to see what's coming for CSII. Especially Mr.Maison's trees and shrubs!!!
Compared to video games from when I was younger, this is leaps and bounds above. We have nothing to complain about this game. It has offered so many people hours of entertainment and yes some frustration. But that's part of gaming.
This game today is far better than cities one ever was. literally making cities even more realistic than cities one and can do it so much faster with the new building tools. and the performance is sooo much better too. The only thing that you could maybe argue is that there are not custom assets yet. YET... still the far better game.
I think my main frustrations is paying for DLC and still not getting it. I understand there are issues but I just want the extra assets! Especially as somebody who can’t play modded (Mac via GeForce) I loved this video! I loved the obvious connections the game has to the city. Showing us that influence was really eye opening and makes so much sense having it all contextualised! I hope they live up to the expectations they placed on you guys! The game has great bones!
My main take away: FewCandy has a day job and still has time to create the most intricate, breathtaking cityscapes. Teach me how to manage time, please. 😭
I've been enjoying the game recently and your videos showing how to get the best out of it My frustration is the lack of a timetable for the asset mods and we desperately need that for the next level
As a console player with over 1000 hrs, finding it hard to just let it go and move past it. It's my favourite game and was sooooo looking forward to it on console. I work on a mac and not about to buy a whole new computer just for one game. When I first saw CS2 i was so excited and it looked liked it fixed a lot of the mechanics/ issues on console. But now with all de delays and whats looks like console may never come out, it's quite depressing.
I feel you, it sucks it's been so long with constant delays. They did say the other day though its still one of their top priorities, so keep holding out hope!
I was a CS1 Console player and only have a Mac too, i play on GE Force Now since release, i couldnt not play it and cant go back to CS1 now, even if GE Force doesnt support mods yet! Definitely worth it 😊
my guess is the recent videos about their progress has left a number of creators a bit glum (and thus their audiences) about the future of the game and so there’s some damage control going on and some morale boosting required by CO to the community and this is what they are doing to alleviate some of the waning enthusiasm for the game and the studio as a whole. Still, it is good to see how much they care by doing something like this to show they have no intention of letting this game die.
Thoughts: Shoes off office. That is certainly a new one - or is it with other nations? Long Board Room Table. I am getting Thunderball vibes here with everyone sitting around a table and Number 1 at the head with the finger on that little red switch just in case Oooo. Bike Lanes? (Don't answer it as I know you can't 😉 ) As for having "strangers: tour your office and see your work? Had that last week, found it a privilege and honour having members of the public touring and seeing what - at least the department I am in (City and Rural Planning) get up to on a day-to-day basis. CE's we all know them 🙂 Definitely with Assets ESPECIALLY as Mixed Use is still very underutilised without the Mixed-Use ROW assets Hotels and Tourism needs to get going or sent into an After Dark type DLC as it is sorely lacking for mature cities Thank you for the update FewCandy. Very appreciative and will wait patiently for the DLC content to come through 🙂
Great vlog, especially interesting about the buildings. One complaint I've heard about the game and tend to agree with, is that everything looks too clean, but when you see the streets of Finland, it actually is clean! Compared to the UK at least, everything looks better kept, I wonder how they keep it so litter free?
Every morning there's a cleaning crew going around picking up trash and a road sweeper getting rid of the muck. Also trash cans everywhere. Helsinki and Tampere get tons of tourists all year round so it's a must to keep the streets tidy.
@@raymaru4310 Thanks for the info. They have street cleaners here but I hardly ever see road sweepers. Another problem is the trash bins are more often than not overflowing. Ah well!
Well said in the beginning. Im not even joking but ever since harambe everything is so toxic. sometimes its deserved but nowdays feels like people hate stuff just because they want to. My mom always used to say its easier to be negative because you dont have to put effort into it.
I've always been a contrarian, so maybe this wouldn't be a surprise to people who've known me. I actually love CS2 more than CS. I bought CS on day one and played just under 400 hours in the many years since. That's not a lot for most people, but that's a lot for me, putting CS easily in my top 10 games played all time. My biggest gripes about CS was that the mods and assets killed the game for me as it kept slowing the game down to a crawl and that wasn't fun. Traffic also killed the game for me. I am a bit of a perfectionist who hates the word perfection and I would keep restarting my maps. The biggest city I ever built was around 45k people. Already, I have played 190 hours (with most of it since the economy patch) on CS2 and my current city is at 116k people. Traffic is not a problem. Did I learn better traffic management skills? Nope. It's all the game's fault that traffic isn't killing my city. The game should never have been released as it was. What were they thinking releasing it without mod and asset support? It is difficult to make different districts in the game unique and you cannot make American cities without churches and baseball fields....my constant complaint everywhere I post. Overall, however, I love where the developers took CS. I enjoy following cims and problem-solving complaints they have or help accommodate the city with services that will allow the cims to find a job, get a better job and get better education. The roadbuilding tools make it much easier to lay out the road network and I appreciate that too. The last patch also fixed my homeless problem too (I know that is not universal, so I wonder if others had enough housing and jobs available in their city to accommodate the influx of homeless people becoming citizens, like I apparently did). Age may also be a factor in me loving this game. I am 61 and have been a gamer my whole life, which obviously includes a good third of that playing board games which requires a lot of patience, something that young people lack in this world of instant gratification. That's my OK, Boomer jab. Keep up the good work with your cities and don't give up if you become impatient with things you want not incorporated into the game at the moment!
Desagree with the all age thing, but I'm feeling the same way about the game, I always felt that in CS1 I was fighting against the game, and everything is so much smoother in the two. I also really miss any church, or historical building assets in the game in general. I think that some people on the forums love to hate the game, sometimes I even wonder if they are playing it at all, or if there here just for the drama
@killianthiabaud3088 a bit of both. On social media people respond to negativity because it gets attention. So it becomes an echo chamber of rage-baiters. I have been watching this TV series that got critically panned and rightfully so. However the amount of baseless hatred was so staggering, you had channels devoting their entire content to complaining. I really had to avoid those channels to not get swept up in the negativity. With CS2 I feel the same happened. Mistakes were made but the negativity and hatred was a bit much, imho.
Great to meet you in Finland Few... Oh hang on... I didn't, I wasn't there and no reason to be there 🤪I subscribed to your channel because of this video... I saw it by accident, watched a full playlist of Fewladelphia, subscribed and need to binge the rest of your videos. can I become a boyfan? (well old man fan) I feel old at 59 anyway LOL
Its weird, I only got CS2 a month ago so I've only ever played the game with road builder, the current mods and a good PC so I'm loving the game and never got a lot of the negative connotations many people did at the start. I hope there aren't too many people with fixed mindsets who will never give it the time of day because it feels like a fun game that's going to get better and better... I think you undersell yourself by feeling inferior around the legends btw, personally no CS creators designs have resonated more with me and made me play than yours and OEs
Aww thank you so much, that means a lot! And yes I agree, a lot of the issues people don't like aren't things that bother me, everyone has a different play style after all!
Looks like a fantastic trip. Are we going to see some typical Finnish things, some inspiration you took from Tempere and Helsinki, back in Fewladelphia?
I started watching you on CS 1, like on you 2nd or 3rd post, I was glad a girl was playing the game. But the first one I started fallowing was Biffa, then CPP.
I don't think anyone was ever upset at the *developers as individual people*. While sure, the bugs were frustrating, it's really how the game was handled by the game design and publishing team. The choice to go with the (imo super-)unappealing-but-realistic dime-a-dozen zoned assets, the choice to present players with one region type on launch, the choice to say "that's good enough" when the default LUT and region are ultra low quality and just aesthetically displeasing, the push to release the awful Beaches DLC (I have to reign in my desire to use hyperbole here), coupled with TWO LONG HOLIDAYS between release and now, and THEN you take in all the bugs (many game breaking)... that's how you get to maximum "what the flying F CO?!" My sympathy flat died, forever, when Beaches was revealed. 1 million players payed for a finished product. They've had close to a year now. I get that no one is a slave. Everyone deserves time off. But they committed to a product. Their product is their *everything*. Being a game designer is a privilege. And they failed. Their livelihoods are on the line. And they... go on break. Like what. The. F. It's like hearing about a farmer who took a month off during planting season. Like WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! I'd have refunded long ago and washed my hands of this if Steam's policy wasn't 2 hours. Anyway. Rant end. INB4 BUT HOW CAN YOU BE SO UNPLEASANTLY NEGATIVE BRO SPREAD LOVE NOT HATE. Stop it. You'll continue eating shit sandwiches with that approach to life.
I think you need to calm down. Yes, the game's first couple of months were very bad. VERY BAD. But creators preserved through it, players persevered too. And I believe everyone should move on. It's been almost a year and we as a community have to get over it and look to the future. (Also there weren't even 100K people who bought the game at launch.)
As an console player there is no word yet for the level of disappointment i feel😬 Nice to see your face for the first time btw, watched a lot of your videos but never know who you really are👍
Bit late to the party, ie watching this, but I did always hear what Mariina said as being spot and taking responsibility for the state of the game. Wonder why "everyone else" seems to have gotten the idea that she ignored all the bad stuff
i think people are more let down by the whole industry, and that this game might have been immune from the current trend of releasing games in an unfinished state so that we can test it for them at full retail price just to please the shareholders.
I do wonder how they have time for so much if there is lots of exciting things coming up. Becasue once january starts they have to use most of their resources on the Bridge and Port DLC. I am excited for that DLC btw, but i do wonder how they will have time for more, since it's coming in Q2.
Totally enjoyed your video and your insight does give us hope, however, I remember having that same excitement when the game launched after seeing all those wonderful videos. You did point out and completely agree that the actions is what's going to change anyone's opinions. Unfortunately the comment that they made about this game ain't for you sticks with me every time that they say there's humans on the other side and to be nice. Not that I'm being mean but it almost feels like a they take the first shot and then when we respond we're the bad guy. But I do look forward to hopefully some fun gaming hours. I am curious as to what settings that you use in your game? Thank you and I know it's a lot of work to create the videos and it was great to see your smiling face!
Thank you, in terms of settings I play in 4K, with high settings on pretty much everything but have turned off motion blur and depth of field, clouds I sometimes turn off too! I don’t have an issue with performance on graphics anymore, it’s more the load on the CPU in much larger cities, but it’ll take me a long time to get there!
on a completely unrelated note while i was watching i noticed you had a retaining wall without the janky shadow, please share your secret 🤣 on a more related note i think the state of the game now with the mods has been more fun for me personally
I really wish TH-cam content creators wouldn‘t accept such company invites. The community needs independent youtubers that give us their own oppinion. No matter what they say it is from a PR perspective the same as an oil company inviting journalists on a spa retreat. Don‘t forget that most of those content creators that were invited to Finland talked us last year into buying the game before it was released. Through the whole way CO has been handling the communication for CS2 I lost a lot of hope in the gaming industry. 😢
I want my money back tbh. i feel scammed and in the eu there should be a law prohibiting companies selling its bare minimum products and never fix nor finish it.
The biggest problem plaguing city skylines: It is basically and American construction, not suitable for the world. I mean, just look at the first 5 minutes of your talk: It screams America. And that will always be the problem.
Here's my 2 cents from the debacle that happened when the game was released almost a yr now. This is coming from me who's not subbed to FewCandy nor have i liked or commented on any of her videos until now. I still have high hopes for this game, but until this game can run on low end/mid GPU's, I'll be keeping my money and stick with CS1. It really sucks for what happened but Paradox deserved every bit of the backlash they got when this game was announced IMO. For the CEO and FewCandy saying she's owning up to what happened, i haven't seen anything to be honest. Until then, I'll be staying away from this game until the CC's start saying to.
The delays of a paid dlc and unfinished game is now a norm. And paradox interactive is still selling dlcs advertising them as soon coming. Just total scam
The reason why the community is so concerned is because there is a feeling of neglect and a big lack of communication. Feels like Collosal have abandoned the game.
No, you clearly see a cadre of dedicated agitators who spew negativity all day every day. The game is running great for me right now. Am I disappointed in how slow it is going? Yes. But there is quite a bit good about the game. But the Steam Comment section is toxic. OP - How do you get clean transitions to underground? First 3 answers - You can’t, the game sucks! Every topic. Cities Skylines 2 future is very bleak, If Paradox delays something indefinitely it will be cancelled for sure. Look at Life By You. Either Colossal needs to find new publisher or publish the game under their name like old times. Game is still hella broken, not fun, lacking and bleak.

Great update, glad it was a positive experience. Interesting about the architectural influence, I hope the regional packs are still being worked on, because there is so much variety around the different cultures. Good job.
Loved the video; thanks for taking the time to make it.
This is my first FewCandy video and I really enjoyed it 👊🏻👌🏻👍🏻
🙌 welcome to the channel!
Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed with the creator meet-up. Does the company not use focus groups? Read forums? It's not difficult to see what the problems are. Thank you for being so open in this video.
It was a pleasure to meet and fly out with you, catch up soon!
Was a pleasure to meet you too!!
You have given me a new hope on CSII !
so glad you made this video
Thanks Few Candy. Really enjoyed this especially the architecture chat.
Thanks! This was awesome and so happy you got to participate in the event. I can't wait to see what's coming for CSII. Especially Mr.Maison's trees and shrubs!!!
Cool to see you infront of the camera. Great insight into the game/company and sounds like a fab trip.
Great video, I have been well over the CS2 negativity for a while now.
So glad you had a good time Few 🎉 Appreciate you feeding back what you can...
Compared to video games from when I was younger, this is leaps and bounds above. We have nothing to complain about this game. It has offered so many people hours of entertainment and yes some frustration. But that's part of gaming.
Great vid. Since the detailers patch I've been enjoying the game. Looking forward to the updates
Thanks for your honest thoughts, listened to this on the way home from work like a podcast 😂 Just makes me excited for the future!! 😅
It was a pleasure meeting you 💙
And you Avanya!
Especially as somebody who can’t play modded (Mac via GeForce)
I loved this video! I loved the obvious connections the game has to the city. Showing us that influence was really eye opening and makes so much sense having it all contextualised!
I hope they live up to the expectations they placed on you guys! The game has great bones!
I totally agree, I badly want the DLC!! But I get their reason for doing it so I'll try and be patient! Glad you enjoyed the vid, thanks David!
My main take away: FewCandy has a day job and still has time to create the most intricate, breathtaking cityscapes. Teach me how to manage time, please. 😭
Thanks for this blog, FewC. I had to smile at your imposter syndrome - everyone in the CS family knows who you are and admires your content 😍
I've been enjoying the game recently and your videos showing how to get the best out of it
My frustration is the lack of a timetable for the asset mods and we desperately need that for the next level
Having said that, I do think CS2 is better than CS1 and, as you say, there is a positive future for it if CO deliver
Thank you Few Candy, very much appreciated!
So weird this suddenly popped up in my youtube feed. 😅 Was nice meeting ya! Thanks for the shoutout!
Great to meet you too Darf!
Brilliant thanks very much glad you had fun🎉
Definitely worth it 😊
@callumparr2429 what's Gforce and how do I get it???... Tell me more kind sir!!!!! lol
my guess is the recent videos about their progress has left a number of creators a bit glum (and thus their audiences) about the future of the game and so there’s some damage control going on and some morale boosting required by CO to the community and this is what they are doing to alleviate some of the waning enthusiasm for the game and the studio as a whole.
Still, it is good to see how much they care by doing something like this to show they have no intention of letting this game die.
Main takeaway: Finland has clams.
😂
Miss Candy, you are right about everything, in my opinion paradox should take your opinions into account 👍👍
😅 Aww thanks!
Thanks for the great update! 😃
I was a real shame that I was unable to go and enjoy this creator meet up. Looks like you had a great time.
Yes shame you weren’t there! Hopefully next time 😄
Thoughts: Shoes off office. That is certainly a new one - or is it with other nations?
Long Board Room Table. I am getting Thunderball vibes here with everyone sitting around a table and Number 1 at the head with the finger on that little red switch just in case
Oooo. Bike Lanes? (Don't answer it as I know you can't 😉 )
As for having "strangers: tour your office and see your work? Had that last week, found it a privilege and honour having members of the public touring and seeing what - at least the department I am in (City and Rural Planning) get up to on a day-to-day basis.
CE's we all know them 🙂
Definitely with Assets ESPECIALLY as Mixed Use is still very underutilised without the Mixed-Use ROW assets
Hotels and Tourism needs to get going or sent into an After Dark type DLC as it is sorely lacking for mature cities
Thank you for the update FewCandy.
Never to old to be a boyfan haha! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely!
WAS IT BIKES THAT GOT YOU EXXCITED? Don't answer. I'll assume it is.
😂🤐
I started watching you on CS 1, like on you 2nd or 3rd post, I was glad a girl was playing the game. But the first one I started fallowing was Biffa, then CPP.
I don't think anyone was ever upset at the *developers as individual people*. While sure, the bugs were frustrating, it's really how the game was handled by the game design and publishing team. The choice to go with the (imo super-)unappealing-but-realistic dime-a-dozen zoned assets, the choice to present players with one region type on launch, the choice to say "that's good enough" when the default LUT and region are ultra low quality and just aesthetically displeasing, the push to release the awful Beaches DLC (I have to reign in my desire to use hyperbole here), coupled with TWO LONG HOLIDAYS between release and now, and THEN you take in all the bugs (many game breaking)... that's how you get to maximum "what the flying F CO?!"
My sympathy flat died, forever, when Beaches was revealed.
As an console player there is no word yet for the level of disappointment i feel😬
Nice to see your face for the first time btw, watched a lot of your videos but never know who you really are👍
I hope they added personal watercrafts for those docks.
Why do none of you have pictures with OE? I've found out what so many creators look like, but not him!
We respect his wish not to face reveal!
@@fewcandy fair enough! I can stop thinking I might see him!
@@jonnyhallsworth maybe he’ll do it one day, there seems to be high demand for an Egg face reveal! 😄
There’s a setting in advanced graphic settings where you can remove ‘terrain shadows’ that’ll fix it!
In Sweden we say Tem-pe-re or in swedish Tammerfors😊
It seems like it's impossible for me to say correctly! 😅
@@fewcandy try to say Tammerfors 😀
Anyone know when the video starts?
When/is Yumbl coming back?!
Totally understand the NDA and the need for the NDA, just wondering how the is the NDA for? Just curious when we get to start discussing?
It’s as and when paradox allow us or publicly release the information themselves, so there’s no fixed term!
What did I miss? What’s up with the game? 😢
nice one
I really wish TH-cam content creators wouldn‘t accept such company invites. The community needs independent youtubers that give us their own oppinion. No matter what they say it is from a PR perspective the same as an oil company inviting journalists on a spa retreat.
Don‘t forget that most of those content creators that were invited to Finland talked us last year into buying the game before it was released.
Through the whole way CO has been handling the communication for CS2 I lost a lot of hope in the gaming industry. 😢
Ho from Brazil was there? Smiles?
do 3080 run smoothly on this game?
Yep I have no issues at all, the main strain is on CPU in massive cities now
It's Mariina, not Marina :D:D
Who was from South Africa??
Sanctum Gamer is from South Africa iirc
man i never get invited to shit
Any word on consoles?
I want my money back tbh. i feel scammed and in the eu there should be a law prohibiting companies selling its bare minimum products and never fix nor finish it.
This all CO and Paradox SPIN. NO detail at all as far as I can see.
Sponsored damage limitation. PR teams are so predictable
If you read steam comments you clearly see all of the people are right about the game.. Total scam, nothing less.
They consider themselves crusaders trying to destroy anyone associated with the game.
Cities Skylines 2 future is very bleak, If Paradox delays something indefinitely it will be cancelled for sure. Look at Life By You. Either Colossal needs to find new publisher or publish the game under their name like old times. Game is still hella broken, not fun, lacking and bleak.
