Capt. CA, I want to start by saying I enjoy watching your content. I find it to be informative, and I have learned a lot for watching your videos. I want to get into the world of Ned Rigs this winter and looking into getting a Fitzgerald Aquafin rod. you said in this video you use a Medium for your ned rigs. I've looked on Fitzgerald's website and the specs for a medium for lure wt. is 1/8 -5/8 oz. would a medium light be better for ned rig? The aquafin ML lure wt. is 1/16-1/2 oz.
My buddy and I fished with Capt. Adam Whitson last week out of Yankeetown and it was my first exposure to Fitzgerald rods. After 1 day of fishing them, i am totally hooked. As soon as I got back to NC, i ordered one. Maybe the best rod I've ever used. Excellent rod! Capt. Adam is a great guy!
Glad you doing the review on the Fitzgeralds. How do you like the microwave eyelets ? Can you recommend an Aquafin that will throw the heavier plugs , basically throw the last plugs mentioned. Thank you
Brian- the Microwave guides do offer smoother casting but I haven’t seen a real increase in distance. For swinging the AF70MH in the Aqua Fin or the AP70MH in the All Purpose but that is a casting rod.
I’m bias towards my 9’ one piece phenix dragonfly and stella 1000 with 6lb braid for spooky reds. Mirrodine mini with sharper hooks small zman plastics on 1/4 oz jighead and live shrimp can be casted a mile with that nice soft tip
I have a 7ft Medium Teramar XX in the southwest model. This rod says fast action but since it's parabolic I feel it should have been labelled moderate fast. I fish in Flamingo where it's usually filled with floating grass. Ive converted to single inline hooks on my lures and run weedless soft plastics. What's the best rod that you would suggest? @@flatsclasscharters
Great video CA, I have a question ? I’m a beginner Wade fisherman and I can carry a max two rods in a single trip. What two rods (with specs) would you suggest ? I’m mostly throwing soft plastics like paddle tails, fitness baits, etc, however I’m starting to learn to use top water lures.
i already have a medium setup with a 3000 size reel i’m looking to add one more setup to my arsenal should i get another medium with a 4000 size reel or should i get a medium heavy with a 4000?

Great to hear that you are coming back to NC to fish. Great video Captain.
Looks like it will be chilly
Thank you for making these videos CA! They’ve helped me learn a ton! I tell every fisherman I find about your Chanel!
That's the CB72/6-12 blank by American Tackle. I have a custom rod built on that blank. Love it
Thanks Kevin for the intel… love the guys who enjoy the details
Good info, thanks CA!
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas

Yes, the 7’ ML Aquafin is the best rod for Ned Rig fishing in saltwater!

Fitzgerald has the perfect actions for employing artificial lures… its what they do. Glad you had a solid trip with Capt Adam!

Good input much appreciated
Nice Information!!!
Which of these rods would you recommend if I have swapped out the treble hooks for singles on the 17MR? I stopped using trebles as I was harming fish.
You will likely choose a rod that is Medium/Fast instead of the Medium/Mod Fast I talked about. Fitzgerald Rods has that rod in their Aqua Fin Series

What rod would you use for the zman 3.3 mulletron? TIA
Depending on rigging method but you should do fine with Fitzgerald Aqua Fin AF70M or the FRAD72M in their Aqua Dream rods

Where can you get the 10lb test white Diamond braid?
All I can find in that size of orange, blue, or green
I just ran into this channel. Wish the guy would be on the boat showing these techniques hands-on fishing and showing us the caught bass😢😢😢😢
You said an extra fast cast great but I understand that they dint because of the load. Did u mean to say that?
You are saying I need a rod for every lure don't think so
That’s exactly what he’s saying. You should start a free TH-cam channel and teach us the right way!
